When we got up this morning my mum had a message on her computer telling her to download Mozila FireFox system tools 17.54.5468 - the message popped up when she tried to play a facebook game. We clicked it and downloaded it and the computer seemed fine after that (but we did notice something called uniblue was now on her computer). Then i got onto my computer and when i tried to get into yahoo groups i got the same message. I also got a different message when half way thru watching a video on youtube a screen came up saying that the certificates for youtube were invalid or didn't exist. I deleted firefox completely - including the folder in programs (x86) - reinstalled it and i can once again play youtube videos (so far) but i'm still getting a message for Mozila FireFox system tools 17.54.5468 when i try to get into yahoo groups. My question - is 'Mozila FireFox system tools 17.54.5468' a real message from you guys and if its not, does anyone know how i get rid of it? I have Windows 7 and its a desktop if anyone needs to know.

...Pretty much exactly like the title says. I checked the plugin checker after updating to Firefox 30 to see if there was anything that needed updating. Of course, there was: Shockwave and "Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in".

While I was able to get Shockwave up to date just fine, the Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in is presenting some trouble. As in, when I click "Update Now", instead of redirecting to an update page, it redirects right back to the Plugin Check page.

Where can I go to update this plugin? Does it need to be updated? Is this a glitch in the checker, and therefore I don't need to do anything?

I have a Dell Windows 7 Professional 64-bit machine. Firefox keeps crashing. "Sorry. Firefox had to close. We'll try to restore your page." (Not exact message.) I have screen shots of the details, which are always the same. The first two lines of the details are: AdapterDeviceID: 0x2e22 AdapterVendorID: 0x8086 With the help of technicians I have tried the following fixes, none of which work: Checked my video drivers. Updated my Intel drivers. Fiddled with the compatibility window. Tried Windows 7 and Windows XP. Checked and unchecked various items. Clicked on Mozilla's "troubleshoot compatibility," which made some changes. I am not computer-savvy. However, anyone who cares to respond can make your suggestions as technical as you need to; I'll share them with my technician.

Sometimes Firefox actually stops working and "pop-up" window appears with the message "Firefox has stopped working". I have a process that continually monitors FF which is running a GM script 24/7 and when it spots that FF has stopped working it aborts the process and restarts FF. Unfortunately the pop-up window doesn't go away and the old process is still seen in the mix. If I manually click on the stop program button in the window then the new FF process also seems to die. If I close the window using the X button then I have a FF ghost process that won't stop. How can I stop the window from appearing?

I have tried completely removing Firefox, all its settings, profiles, uninstalling and clearing out everything, reinstalling Firefox 30 with no plugins, no bookmarks, nothing. I have tried running in Safe mode, but the problem persists, and it is specific to Firefox.

When I type anything into a box in Firefox - search box, url box, a box on a web site*, anywhere, unpredictably the letters just stop appearing on the screen, then appear one by one with a several second delay between each. It makes Firefox unusable and I have been forced back to using IE, which I loathe.

  • it just happened while I was typing that. It suddenly stopped in the middle of the word 'Firefox'; then the remaining letters up to the asterisk appeared one by one, with a delay of between three and twenty seconds each - I counted. I have had to finish this by preparing it in Notepad and copying and pasting, because it keeps stopping.

My computer is up to date; all drivers are up to date; my virus checker (Zonealarm Extreme Security) is up to date. A virus scan finds no infection.

I recently replaced WinXP with Win7. I have a folder called "Old Firefox Data" that contains my old profile, including my "bookmarkbackups" files for the past few months. I've done the manual replace "Show all bookmarks --> Impost and Backup --> Restore --> Find file" to use the most recent JSON file but when I do this I still don't see my bookmarks (I've gone back a few weeks and used older JSON files too). I've also replaced all the files in my old profile with the new one and again that's all I see are the default bookmarks in Firefox. So what am I missing?

Hello

Very simple issue. Every time I open new page I need to press two times Ctrl++ , to make zoom proper for me.

There are add-ons for this, however noSquint distorts some pages (which ctrl++ doesn't), and "Default fullzoom level says it's depracated and works poorly with firefox >=29

I use fresh installation of firefox 30 on Ubuntu, only default ubuntu add-ons.

browser.zoom.siteSpecific set to false doesn't solve the issue, neither manipulating with: zoom.minPercent;30 toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues;.3,.5,.67,.8,.9,1,1.1,1.2,1.33,1.5,1.7,2,2.4,3

Is there possiblity to press Ctrl++ 2 times and make firefox obeying this for all pages?

I don't know what the hell is going on!!! I'm usually polite person but this update was beyond any logical reason. Why the address bar disappeared? How I'm supposed to go to any site except from bookmarked ones? Here should I write the address? The search field is gone too. I made the mistake updating to FF30 at work but did the clever decision to keep to FF28 at home AND to disable updates after the disaster called FF29. I'm not against updates but I'm against meaningless updates, moreover updates that make the browser practically unusable as I can't go to any site now!!!!

At seemingly random times, firefox freezes, and if clicked the screen goes white and says not responding. At times it makes watching any video impossible. I have tried everything I've seen in help forums. I've removed and reinstalled firefox, adobe, silverlight, realplayer, and anything else forums have suggested. So far the only effective solution I've read about this problem is to switch to google chrome. I'd rather not do this.

I am using a MacBookPro with Mavericks, updated to 10.9.3. I am using Ffx version 30.0. It appears to be "Mozilla Firefox Yahoo! Edition yahoo 1.16". I am not particularly interested in keeping the Yahoo! part and I am not sure how I got it to be Yahoo (and not just Ffx) - I think that happened a few years ago.

I have restarted my computer, shut down all other programs (nothing else is running), I went to about: support and clicked to Reset Firefox - nothing helps.

This began a couple of days ago (roughly 6/16/2014) and it is driving me absolutely mad. I copy some text onto my clipboard using Command-C and then I use Command-F to find text on the firefox window. then when I try to paste my clipboard text (with Command-V), whatever I typed into the Command-F window is what gets pasted. This overwriting of my clipboard is brand new - Ffx never worked this way before.

I am not using a ton of plugins - and I can dump any/all of them except Flash and QuickTime.

Hoping someone can help me...this is really compromising my productivity!

Thanks.

I've been having 2-3 firefox crashes a week since 30.0. I think most are related to Flash but disabling Flash Safe Mode like another thread suggested, broke other things, specifically audio.

The real problem however, is that none of the past like 20 Crashes have been saved on Firefox crash reports on about:crashes. The last one saved is from June 30th. I think I've asked about this on someone else's thread but never got a response.
