Firefox updated to 97.0 (64-bit) this morning for me and immediately ceased functioning. It could not even load about:addons or about:settings. Other browsers worked fine, and by processes of elimination I found it to be Webroot that was causing the dysfunction. I've already opened a support ticket with Webroot, but I wanted to make Mozilla aware of this conflict and to ask if there is anything that I can do to remedy this besides completely disabling my anti-virus/spyware to use Firefox?

Firefox 97 os/system print dialog

Hi, how do we set Firefox 97 to use the os/system print dialog?

Before Firefox 97 we could change these settings in about:config:

print.tab_modal.enabled = false widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal = true

But they are both gone now.

There is now widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.print, which is an integer (2 by default).

But no matter what integer it is set to, we still don't get the os/system print dialog.

We are using Arch Linux, but we don't expect that to be of any importance -- after all, it worked before Firefox 97.

Thanks for your time :o)

Hello,

I seem to be having a problem when playing any VR content in the latest default version of Firefox (97.0.1, 64-bit). When VR content is being displayed, I do not get a prompt to allow access to my VR headset in the address bar.

I have a first generation Oculus Rift CV1. In the Oculus software's settings, I have enabled Unknown Sources and selected it as my default OpenXR runtime (see attached image).

I would like to provide some suggestions as to what might be going wrong but I am unable to even hazard a guess. VR games and standalone applications work fine. It is almost as if Firefox doesn't recognise I have a VR-compatible device?

Thanks in advance for any support, -L

Firefox automatically updated last night, and once again defaults to its own printer dialog box. I hate it. There is a link to use the system print dialog box but it only works for that specific print job -- which wastes a lot of time every time I want to print.

I can't find a setting to choose my system printer dialog box as default. the solutions from last year no longer work (about:config, then tab_mo, then print.tab_modal.enabled, set to false.

Anyone know how to fix this? It's enough to make me stop using the browser because the Firefox dialog box sucks.

Hello, how to prevent the MOUSE POINTER from changing to a HAND? And how to prevent it from changing size, shape and color when in Firefox? I understand they know better what I want, but still...

Unlike most of you, I don't have a PhD in Computer Science, and have no idea what a CSS file is, where it is located, and how to edit it. So if you got a simple step-by-step solution, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! Alex

I recently noticed that my Firefox hadn't updated in a few weeks. When clicking on Help -> About Firefox the Check for Updates button is missing (I was at 97.0). I then downloaded the latest version of Firefox which created a 2nd Firefox icon. I deleted the old Firefox and am now using 97.0.1 but the About Firefox window is still missing the check for updates button (see attached pic).

Also strange is that in the Settings Menu, under General, there are no choices for anything (the other options work) (see attached pic).

Thanks!

I have for many years tried to have excel automatically open downloaded .csv files as I do this every day many times. Until today I have not been able to understand why, despite having asked for Firefox to automatically open .csv files with Excel, and therefore finding "Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File" associated to "Use Excel (Default)" in the application association list in the General settings, Firefox continues to ask what to do with the .csv file type when downloading.

What I have discovered is that when using a search for associations in the General tab, csv gives no results! However searching for cel does for some reason list the "Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File".

It seems to me that the file type three letter code for the Microsoft excel csv file is wrongly stated in the association list. Is my assumption right? If so how can I correct this please?

For information I have had this problem on more than one computer! I have just set this up on a brand new laptop when discovering this.

Images attached... Thank you.
