I'm using Windows 10 and Firefox 97.0 x64. It was working just fine for a long time now, but I shut down my computer and when I turned it back on Firefox would load, but I couldn't navigate to any webpage not could I pull up about:config or anything.

I tried uninstalling it, restarting it, uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ redistribute 2015 x86 and x64. Nothing worked.

I then installed the x86 version of Firefox and it was able to load pages. Any ideas on how I can get Firefox 64-bit working on my PC again?

To the best of my knowledge I have not added any new extensions any time recently.

Firefox updated to 97.0 (64-bit) this morning for me and immediately ceased functioning. It could not even load about:addons or about:settings. Other browsers worked fine, and by processes of elimination I found it to be Webroot that was causing the dysfunction. I've already opened a support ticket with Webroot, but I wanted to make Mozilla aware of this conflict and to ask if there is anything that I can do to remedy this besides completely disabling my anti-virus/spyware to use Firefox?

Firefox upgraded to 97 overnight and now using a pen in the browser just drags the page around. It was working normally yesterday, and now it doesn't. I'm trying to write using a pen on D2L's Brightspace, and now the pen just drags the page about. Doesn't do that with the mouse, but one can't write with a mouse. Microsoft Ink setting is set to use let me use a pen as a mouse, just as it was yesterday, but now Firefox is absolutely useless in this regard.

I can't get my work done.

yesterday firefox worked fine. Today when I opened it, it was slow loading my homepage (my email account) and would open new windows but never open anything in them. It would open new windows from links in an email. It would give no error messages and there was no spinning circle or anything else to indicate that it was working. When I typed in an address and entered, nothing happened. I tried the refresh, but that window wouldn't open. I did a reinstall and now my home page won't even come up. I have an Alienware x17 R1 running Windows 10. Other browsers (Microsoft Edge, Opera) run fine.

I've had this browser installed on my computer for about a year. It is worth noting that, all of the browsers worked perfectly fine before. However, after roughly 3 weeks of regularly seeing that all of the browsers on my Windows 10 PC (Opera, Firefox, Tor) except Chrome browser don't seem to start up. When I run Firefox.exe, it opens for a fraction of a second, displays a text box, and then closes. I tried recording my screen to understand what's written more clearly, and it said "Profile Missing". But not the familiar profile missing error. this one closes immediately, and with no text, only the title. It is also important to mention that all of the files associated with the browser also won't open, except helper.exe. For example, this command "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -P to open the profile manager will show the same error.

Things I tried:

1. Refreshing the browser. 2. Uninstalling and reinstalling. 3. Removing the appdata profiles folder. 4. Installing other versions of Firefox. 5. Scanning for malware with 3 different Antivirus programs.

And so far non of these methods worked. I would like to get an answer on how to fix this. Thanks.

When closing Firefox after fresh install or computer restart, the app will not open and instead opens in the background as 7 different processes, also when it does open after fresh install or restart, no websites will load nor can I access any setting or options for Firefox itself, I tried to install an old update from 2017 I had saved and that installation worked fine including accessing setting and websites, but after closing the app and opening it again, the problem came back

Everytime I open firefox it will open in task manager but won't actually open in a window. Everytime I restart my computer firefox will only open one time and will not load anything, not even the home page, and won't allow me to interact with it beyond clicking the settings and them not actually doing anything. I've uninstalled it multiple times, I've done clean uninstalls/reinstalls, I've removed all my extensions. Literally nothing is working at all. How do I fix this

The Firefox browser stopped connecting to the internet right after the end of a Zoom meeting, on the computer that I use all the time. When I click the link, the start page will slowly come up, but none of the links work on this one computer. Otherwise, I am able to connect to the internet with other browsers and with Firefox on other computers.

Could the meeting connection have done something?

Thank you,

Betty

I tried refreshing, resetting, uninstalling and reinstalling and I still get the same blank pages for every site. Turned my computer on/off again. Internet is working fine. I'm not having this problem with other browsers and firefox was working fine earlier today. Please assist or let me know if you need any clarification. Thanks!

Have Win 11 running Firefox no problem...until the Firefox update this AM, after which the browser crashed and either (a) won't reopen at all, or (b) reopens to the browser page but nothing works (can't open extensions, troubleshoot, browse, bookmarks, etc). Tried deleting and reloading, saw online there might be conflict with Webroot so disabled that, still the same issue.

No error msg, just won't open.

The only thing that happened yesterday was there was a Windows update (Windows 10). Now today when I try to start Firefox, it takes 4 - 5 clicks before it will even open (actually now I can't get it to open) ... but I did just change the setting to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 8 and things seem to be working correctly. Before I did this, when Firefox would open, I could not search - even in Firefox for add-ons, help, etc. All I would get is a white screen. I tried clearing my cache and even uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox but had the same issue. It seems to be "fixed" right now in compatibility mode, but it also seems like future issues may arise. Thank you for any insight!

This is what I have done so far:

I have done a full OS refresh of Windows 10.

Used Revo Uninstaller to remove all program files, Registry items.

Deleted all App data for every User account.

Re-installed Firefox with a fresh installer.

What happens:

After installing Firefox it will open once, and only once.

If I close it at any point, it will never open again unless I re-install it.

It will not open in Safe Firefox Safe mode (Holding shift) It will not open in Windows 10 Safe Mode It will not open with my firewall completely disabled my anti-virus uninstalled & off It will not open after restarting my PC It will not open after refreshing my OS again It will not open after Administrator Command Prompt ipconfig /flushdns It will not open after Administrator Command Prompt netsh winsock reset (And restarting) It will not open after clicking refresh re-installing it It will not open after deleting all extensions/cookies/profiles (again) It will not open after deleting all contents of the start-up folder. firefox.exe -p does not open or work

Firefox will only open -ONCE- immediately after re-installing it, I do not know what other options I have besides literally doing a clean install of my entire operating system.

I will get background processes when I try to open Firefox as if it's open, I've already tried closing them then opening again but the program still doesn't open.

I'm at the point where if I want to use firefox, I have to run the installer & it will open then I can use firefox until I close it then I have to run the installer again for it to open.

Literally everything works except for Firefox, I can run every program, game, stream/record video, etc. I have been bending over backwards doing everything I can to see if something else was going on, if anyone has any troubleshooting, I can try outside of what I've already done so far please let me know I'd like to resolve this without having to restore my entire PC for just firefox.

I have long used Firefox as my main browser. Yesterday afternoon (2/10/22) Firefox seemed to totally forget me 1)would not respond to Google 2)lost stored info for me like my facebook page, email entry, volleytalk, etc. 3)general question is that Firefox seems to frequently have changes to its program...if user does not want it, Firefox is relentless in asking for approval of change, asking over and over and over

This morning I launched Firefox on my PC by opening a link in discord, I was greeted with a blank page, the link showed up in the search-bar and the tab icon shows up, but there was no content whatsoever on the rest of the page. I tried restoring my last browsing session, and all tabs where similarly blank. Attached an image of what I see on a new tab page as well as any other page. The only settings menu I was able to open was "more troubleshooting info" page, by which i mean it is the only thing that actually loaded any content. Things I have tried: -Refreshing Firefox. It seem to go through the process, but when it is done the pages are similarly blank. -Uninstalling, then reinstalling. I reset my computer after uninstalling and then re-downloaded Firefox, same results. -Logging out of Firefox. I didn't really expect this to do anything but tried just in case. -Refreshing the cashe. I used the shortcut to open the browser history clear, and cleared cookies and cashe. -Opening Firefox in safe mode, has the same issue. -Used my anti-malware Webroot Security to check my computer for malware, nothing turned up. -Re-allowing Firefox through windows firewall. Did this by removing it from the list of allowed programs, then adding it again. -Ensuring my compatibility preferences didn't have anything selected. -Through the troubleshooting page I was able to access the about:config page (this page would not load if i opened a new tab and typed in about:config, ONLY if I changed the URL from about:support, the only page i could load, to about:config) and ensuring that browser.newtabpage.enabled was set to true.

Firefox is working perfectly fine on my laptop, and I was working last night on my PC, the only difference being that was a small windows update. It has never done this before.
