When I surf Youtube, Google, Facebook and anything on Firefox this following error happen every time. Please help me.

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.youtube.com because this website requires a secure connection.

What can you do about it?

www.youtube.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.

If you are on a corporate network or using anti-virus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

I recently changed Firefox settings to delete cookies for everything when I close it except the sites I use frequently. This has worked great for everything except for Google sites which sign me out every time I close the browser.

I assume there are some supporting sites for signing in to Google that need to be in the exception list, but I don't know what they might be. I'm also using Mozilla's new Multi-account Container extension in case that matters.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

HI!

My buddy highlighted an issue, then i re-checked myself and it is worrying to me.

To recreate (windows):

Get any (non-webistaller [not nececarry, to do it this way, but simpler to check]) firefox version (buddy got a fresh portable, i used my kinda privacy fortified one). Disconnect from the internet (plug the cable for fastest result). Make your version usable (install it) Start firefox, and open the Resource Monitor, with the network tab open expand the Network Activity portion (short alphabeticly, by name, check for F for firefox). Plug the cable in.

You soon will see FF will start looking for things, then an adress with a googleusercontet.com will pop up. Does not matter what is the Homepage's default browser, does no matters even if the Homepage is set to blank, this happens.

My best bet would be google safe browsing, but still, without any activity it is already connecting to that?

I know about the Google-FF/Mozilla relation, but this really made me think about why i still like firefox.

My old computer had issues and I could't fix it, so I got a new laptop after some time. When tried to login to Firefox, I couldn't remember my account password. So I used the password reset option to reset password.

Now I don't have access to my old saved passwords which I saved in my old computer.

I have the hard disk of the old/ damaged computer, so I'm looking for a way to copy/ restore my logins/ passwords saved from the old computer hard disk to my new laptop.

Both computers are Windows 10. Any help?

I made a few changes to about:config. How can i save the about:config settings for a new Firefox installation? My bet is this is possible either with distribution-policies.json or with a HTML. I used Kali Linux, this operating system comes with a pre-configured Firefox installation. For example it uses a permanent darkmode with duckduckgo even while cookies are denied. It also comes with customs about:config settings like disabled telemetry.

Those are all the setting i changed and i would like to find out a permanent way to import them to Firefox, right after installaing the Browser. It's time consuming changing each setting manually after each install...

toolkit.telemetry.enabled false browser.urlbar.placeholderName DuckDuckGo app.update.enabled false geo.enable false extensions.pocket.enabled false pref.privacy.disable_button.view_passwords false network.protocol-handler.external.mailto false datareporting.policy.dataSubmissionEnabled false datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled false browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.telemetry false browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry false browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry.structuredIngestion.endpoint leer browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry.ut.events false browser.ping-centre.telemetry false toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.bhrPing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.firstShutdownPing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.hybridContent.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.newProfilePing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.reportingpolicy.firstRun false toolkit.telemetry.server leer toolkit.telemetry.server_owner leer toolkit.telemetry.shutdownPingSender.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.shutdownPingSender.enabledFirstSession false toolkit.telemetry.updatePing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.unified false toolkit.telemetry.prompted false toolkit.telemetry.rejected true toolkit.telemetry.pioneer-new-studies-available false experiments.activeExperiment false experiments.enabled false experiments.supported false network.allow-experiments false media.peerconnection.enabled false (WebRTC leaks)

If you know any more settings that shuld be disabled, please let me know!

Hello I'm referencing the topic where TLS 1.0 and 1.1 support was removed but rolled back to accommodate some government agencies / sites and support for COVID-19 data

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1290040#:~:text=Mozilla%20and%20other%20browser%20makers,and%20performance%20of%20Internet%20connections.

Quoted answer "Right, support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 has been removed few months ago, but we reverted the change for an undetermined amount of time to better enable access to critical government sites sharing COVID19 information."

Since it was referenced as "undermined amount of time", is there anything currently on your roadmap/release schedule in regards to removing support again? I have some cutover decisions I need to make and knowing if ESR for example will remove this support in 2 months may effect the direction of those. If you have anything to share, i'd really appreciate it.

Regards,

-Chad

My macbook is a 2019 16", running Monterey 12.3.1, and has the touch ID sensor on the top right of the keyboard. I love having it for all my log-ins, but can only make it work in Safari. When I look online I'm told to go into settings> privacy > and then just choose the toggle to turn it on. My version of Firefox (which says it's up to date) does not have that option in the Privacy and Security section of settings. Any thoughts? I'd rather use Firefox than Safari, but that is a HUGE feature to me. Thanks!
