How to remove unlinked labels from bookmark organization ?

Deleting accumulated labels for deleted bookmarks

Good day,

I organize my bookmarks progressively, categorizing them by folders and labels. The labels are stored (libraries - above all the bookmarks) within their respective folder "labels". I deleted some bookmarks a few days ago and noticed that I am unable to delete the labels which have accumulated and been automatically recorded in the "Labels" folder.

How can I delete these numerous labels that are no longer linked to any bookmarks ?

Thank you for your responses and suggestions.

So I'm new to Firefox, and I added some shortcuts to the main tab, using the "+" button. But then after a few minutes it disappeared, when I wanted to add more. I set 4 rows of shortcuts and I have a lot of space left for them. What do I do to bring this button back? I tried deleting a shortcut but it didn't appear.

Bookmarks have been intermittently disappearing for weeks but I could always see the blue star when I visited favorite sites that I use upon starting my day that I had bookmarked. This morning all bookmarks were missing. I tried clearing cache which had worked to restore some bookmarks that were missing. Now everything is gone and I cannot recover them. There is an error that appears when I open Firefox re: bookmarks and I followed the steps but it did not work. I really need my bookmarks to do all the things I need to do, like everyone else, including medical information websites. I hope you all can get this figured out as it has been a problem for a month for me, on a PC. I know my favorites are stored somewhere on this computer but I cannot make them populate. If someone would like to take control of my computer and fix it for me, I would happy to let you do that. I have run sfc/scannow and chkdsk/f as well as a total virus scan with Norton. I have restarted my computer several times as well as done a complete shutdown several times.

Hello,

I have version 143.0.3 (aarch64), running on a 2020 M1 mac. I did an update recently but I still have all of my bookmarks, that's not the problem. The problem is, although the space for the bookmarks toolbar appears when I click "always show" (and disapears when I select "never show"), I see nothing. Nothing shows up in this space and so I have to go menu diving to get to my bookmarks. Do you have an idea how to fix this?

Hello Firefox Community,

I'm experiencing a significant issue with my Firefox bookmarks after migrating to a new Mac device. Background:

  1. 1 I recently switched to a new Mac and installed Firefox.
  2. 2 Before the switch, I was using Firefox on another Mac, and I had synced all my bookmarks and other data with my Firefox account.
  3. 4 The old Mac has since been formatted, and unfortunately, I no longer have access to it.
  4. 5 After signing in to my Firefox account on the new Mac, I noticed that none of my previously synced bookmarks appeared. It’s as if the sync didn’t bring over any of my old data.

TL;DR: Despite having synced my bookmarks with Firefox on my old Mac, they did not transfer to my new Mac after syncing. I’m worried that these bookmarks might be lost forever.

Is there any way to recover my old bookmarks from the Firefox Sync servers or through any other means?

Thank you in advance for your help!

I had to restore Windows to its initial settings. I lost all my programs because of this, including Firefox. I reinstalled the browser, logged in to my account (which is synchronized), but instead of recovering all my bookmarks I got nothing. Empty bookmark box. What's worse, they were initially available on the mobile device, but they were also deleted there (both from the browser and from the smartphone). Firefox restored history, add-ons, but not bookmarks. Is there any way to recover these bookmarks?

Recently switched from Chrome and in Chrome I would open my "Other Bookmarks" folder and middle click a bunch of bookmarks which would open them up in a new tab without switching to that tab or closing the "Other bookmarks" folder.

Is there a way I can replicate this on Firefox? Because at the moment, middle clicking the bookmarks does nothing. This is not about the bookmarks bar at the top.
