Hello

I want to use extension xpi's from a shared external folder over multiple Linux profiles. So i examined the profile folder and found extensions.json. Though i can't find any documentation to it's keys online.

There's "rootURI:" with a "jar:file://path/to/extension.xpi!/", so i tried just replacing the path with the shared one. Though i observed that just makes firefox replace the path with the current one. So i examined further and found the "location:" key with the default value "app-profile". So my guess is, there's other values for other usecases, right?

So, in summary, what i need is:

• documentation to extensions.json keys or possible values to "location" key.
• if that isn't intended/doesn't work, how i can achieve my goal otherwise.

And please don't suggest the sync feature, that doesn't work for my usecase.

I am afraid to update to Firefox 124 for fear of losing the existing order of 100s of open tabs if the default setting of ordering tabs by "Recently Opened" kicks in before I have a chance to change the setting to "Tab Order". Can anyone help me? I'd like to upgrade to 124 if I can do so safely!

Everything is gone….bookmarks, passwords, history on my desktop computer and I have no idea why. I opened Firefox and the home page was different and then noticed nothing was the same. I dl Firefox again, no help, same result. I do have my desktop synced to my iPad and laptop but I’m concerned they will import from the desktop and get wiped out. Is there a way to sync from the laptop to the desktop? I am at a complete loss on how to fix this. I do run a backup on this computer. Would that help? Restore point?

open app on desktop, closes within 40 seconds whether browsing, playing a bookmarked game or just watching opening page. I uninstalled app, reinstalled with saving bookmarks then without saving apps, it stills closes

I've got an M2 MacAir running the latest version of Sonoma. Within the last week, the battery power has fallen off a cliff. It barely runs for a couple of hours and recharging takes nearly half a day. I'm not running anything unusual just social media & YT videos. This seems to have coincided with the latest Firefox update. I was wondering if this might be contributing to it or if this is a common problem since Sonoma & FF updates?

Anyone any ideas?

I use Firefox as my browser but since yesterday I am unable to use it. Each time I click on the firefox icon I am directed to a French Microsoft browser - are you able to help?

Some webpages, that I must log in to, are coming up blank, when I attempt to login. No error, just blank white page. Two examples are paypal and textfree. I have cleared everything I can think of or find on the internet. I have refreshed and restarted several times. This has all started int he last few weeks. The two sites mentioned are ones I really need access to. I am not sure if it is my machine or the browser.

When can we have firefox with translation set OFF by default?

I mean, it's pretty unfair that intelligent people have to keep turning off the dumb translator... all the time... We need a setting, openly available, in the Edit/Settings menu, where it belongs, an option to switch it off. In fact, when it first asks if we want a page translated, we need an option: never ask this again...

All we can see is "go under the hood of firefox, config:option, go into the about:config section where 10 of 10 million people will ever get... and there find your way to disable this horrible translator". When can we expect an option in the pop-up: "never ask me this question again"?

The translator in this offensive form has been around since 2023... I seems high time we didn't have to bother with this anymore...

It has been observed that when a user uses the Firefox browser and tries to download a DDD file, the file format is .pdf instead of .ddd. In the devtools, it was observed that the content-type is text/plain in the response to the request. I changed the content-type to application/octet-stream, but the error still persists

Download files (pdf, xml) don't open in application (acrobat, firefox) since 125.0.1 Firefox version from IBM Power server with Ubuntu :

When we download a pdf file from the server, the "choice box" allow to . open in the browser or . open in Acrobat or . download on my PC. The opening fails with this message. This is the problem. The download on my PC works and when I open the file from my PC it works also.

We need this function of opening a pdf or xml directly from a server IBM Power with Ubuntu. It was OK for several years until 125.0.1 Firefox version. We had no change on the IBM server.

Can you repair this problem quickly. My PC uses Windows 10

Does Mozilla Firefox for Android have plug-ins?

Can you recommend some kind of extension thet will only check current icons for the bookmarks? Just that. I don't need duplicate bookmarks checker, inactice checker and God knows what else checker. Just icons, that's good enough for me.

I reinstalled the Visual C++ and Firefox loaded when i ran the Firefox repair but totally locked up. Unable to get to settings or any website and will not run after closing it.

All Add-ons are disabled and Firefox still can not play SOME of the videos on twitter. All I can see is a spinning circle on the center of the frame and the video will never be played. I tried other browsers and they all works well. It seems this issue has nothing to do with my network connection.

I searched this forum and find out some thread reporting issues of not playing All videos on youtube/twitter. Replies to these thread provided some solutions ,like update ffmpeg , set media related options in about:config. I tried them all and neither of them work for me.

Hello! I synced my browsing data yesterday by signing in to firefox account and reset my OS(window 10) to improve my laptop's speed. When I am trying to get back my browsing data back after resetting and installing firefox by signing in to my firefox account and pressing the Sync Now button then its not giving me my browsing data back. Why is it so? Need Help. Thank You!!
