I have just purchased two LG phones. Model FX0. I want to upgrade the OS to utilize the 4G frequencies. The specifications list that 4G is in the hardware. I am using the pre-release 2.0 OS. Can I update the OS to 2.5?

I also need a good GPS App or website for navigation. My first Firefox Smartphone, had a developer in Israel who offered to sell an app that worked perfectly. I no longer wee that vendor listed in the Firefox Market Place.

This is my fourth Friefox Smartphone. I want to remain a Firefox Smartphone user. Here in the United States, my local AT&T is supporting my phone.

Any assistance is highly appreciated, as we are a Firefox OS Family. We try to use only open source alternatives. Not necessarily free, just open source. Our PC's operate on Linux as well.

Respectfully,

Jack H.

Hi, I'm new to this. I have bought Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 (3.5) since I have wanted have a new small smartphone which is not Android nor iOS. However, on the very first day I have Firefox OS phone, I am having trouble to setup. I use Zoho mail and it supports ActiveSync and CalDav. So I set up ActiveSynce, but it seems like it syncs emails only, not contacts list. Also, I am unable to sync CalDav as well. It shows as if I am signed in but does not load any calendar. In addition, I would like to use DuckDuckGo as my default search engine but it seems it is impossible to change. Please let me know how to do. I am attaching the screenshots of my phone's info.

No root access after setting ro.secure=0, and ro.debuggable=1

I have an alcatel one touch fire e (FFOS version 2.0), and I am trying to root it. I successfully flashed an CWM recovery image to recovery, and attempted to sideload a SuperSu binary (I was following this guide: http://blog.vosnax.ru/2015/04/27/Rooting-an-Alcatel-Fire-E-6015x/ ) After I did that, i still didn't have root access (which according to that guide I should have after running su)

I proceeded with pulling the boot.img (and some other img files) from my device, and unpacked the boot.img, changed the default.prop and repacked it, I tested it, and it worked (as in the phone booted normally, but no root access), I flashed it. And now I still don't get root access, not from using su (it doesn't say command not found or anything, it just doesn't seem to do anything at all), or adb root. My default.prop file shows the following:

andrew@Andrew-Gentoo ~/Downloads $ adb shell busybox cat default.prop

  1. ADDITIONAL_DEFAULT_PROPERTIES

ro.secure=0

ro.allow.mock.location=0

ro.debuggable=1

persist.sys.strict_op_enable=false

persist.sys.whitelist=/system/etc/whitelist_appops.xml

persist.sys.usb.config=none

andrew@Andrew-Gentoo ~/Downloads $ adb shell

shell@msm8610:/ $ su

1|shell@msm8610:/ $

What did I miss, I thought the only thing I had to do was change ro.secure?

EDIT: I do have root access in recovery mode

Can I successfully use SmartTV FirefoxOS Panasonic TX-CX700 in Ukraine by changing regional settings or it is impossible and there is a hardware difference between this TV models?

I am considering buying an Android phone and wipe Android with FirefoxOS using

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/os/devices/

Will installing FirefoxOS change the frequency setting? I.e., suppose I get a Nexus 5 (or another phone) that works on Verizon (or another network). I install firefox OS - wiping out Android. Will the phone still just work on Verizon? Or do I need to fiddle more?

I am not a geek (advanced user) - just like things to work with little hassle.

Thank in advanced for your help.

Sheng-Chieh

p.s. I am considering this because I don't like the privacy on Google nor want to use Google software.

p.s.s. It would be great if a tentative expiration date is listed on

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/os/devices/

for each phone.

p.s.s. If you have any phone(s) recommendation on that list, please post. The phone needs to be cheap - used phones are in consideration.

How can one access bookmarks (or even just save a page as a bookmark) at FxOS 2.6?

Have found the sync-option at preferences (guess for firefox sync.. which should be abandoned for syncto: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox_OS/Syncto ) but I still cannot find a button to create a bookmark.

And I still cannot access bookmarks. although I got plenty of them, and firefox-sync is connected to my sync-account.

Any suggestions or helt? maybe?

I'd appreciate that (have also been looking with search engines...but couldnt find a thing).

cheers

Hello, we have a company Homepage, which is used only in our Intranet. It is based on Microsoft Silverlight. The question is, whether Firefox os based TV-Systems can display this Web-page without the use of an additional PC-System. On our actual systems we use a PC-Stick, but we would be lucky to be able to remove them.
