Cannot access local address 192.168.1.1 which is the address of the GUI interface to my ISP Gateway settings menu. I need it to be able to make changes to the Gateway settings.

I use to get displayed "Advanced" that allowed me to continue forward to get to an "insecure site", only recently that has not been happening (so I am stuck).

Any suggestions, advice, and/or workarounds are appreciated.

I experience constant tab crashes a couple of days now. I tried safe-mode and re-installing the browser. But the crashes still persists. This only happens with firefox.

Firefox 129.0.2 (64-bit) Mozilla Firefox Snap for Ubuntu canonical-002 - 1.0

Running on kubuntu Linux 24.04, kernel version 6.8.0-41-generic (64-bit) KDE Plasma Version 5.27.11 Qt Version 5.15.13

Here is a synopsis of my posts on that thread to distill the most noteworthy symptoms:

I have snap Firefox installed.

If I start firefox from the shell command line, it runs fine. It runs the shell script in /usr/bin/firefox, which ultimately executes /snap/bin/firefox. Clearly that shell script is doing some configuration that I don't understand.

If I​ hit Alt-space I see the menu in the referenced screen grab (see attached).

If I select the first entry, to run firefox from the command line, it has the same effect as starting /usr/bin/firefox from a bash shell; it works fine. However, if I select the third entry, firefox does not play any video; I've mostly tested with YouTube videos that have actual video and audio.

I'm not sure what gets executed when I select the third option from the Alt-space menu. It appears from doing a "ps -ef" that it's the same /snap/firefox/... executable. But I'm wondering why is this entry in the Alt-space menu and how does it get initialized or 'configured' to run.

Additionally, if I do start firefox from the entry with the firefox browser icon, and it fails to play video, I must then uninstall firefox using snap and then reinstall in order to get video playback to work. That is, after a failed start, simply exiting firefox and restarting it from the shell command line will not work; firefox will not play video correctly at all.

I also noticed that on my PC desktop, "snap list" lists firefox as "firefox 129.0.2-1 4793 latest/stable mozilla✓ -"

But on my old Lenova laptop running the same kubuntu version, "snap list" lists firefox as "firefox 129.0.2-1 4757 latest/stable mozilla✓ -"

​I'm up to date on both systems via "sudo apt update"' and "sudo apt upgrade"

Even more frustrating, today, for the first time, despite starting firefox from the command line, video still didn't play. I had to uninstall firefox and reinstall it.

July 2024 - Thunderbird is demanding that I change my Hotmail password, after long trouble -free operation. It will not login. Why? (I have not changed the PW yet, hoping for a solution that will avoid the necessity.) I fear that it may be due to some fault in OAuth. Can anyone please provide any help to overcome this problem? Until today it worked fine. But now whenever I try to login to Xfinity I get You don't have permission to access "http://login.xfinity.com/login" on this server. It works fine on Chrome and Edge. I have disabled my add-ons. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc. I have rebooted. I have turned off firewall. I have checked my DNS. I have changed the DNS protection to OFF in Firefox. I have checked my proxy setting (I have no proxy). I have reinstalled Firefox. Etc. Etc. Nothing works. The fact that it works on Chrome and Edge, that it has worked everyday until today gets me confused. I also tried using my mobile phone as a hot spot to make sure it wasn't related to my Internet connection or IP address. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello. Recently I've noticed video quality has been reduced on amazon prime video. I get a message saying my hardware doesn't meet HDCP requirements.

I've already tried playing the same video on edge, and the quality selector was fine there, full HD video.

This has been very challenging for more. I have searched the internet forms I cannot find the solution to this issue, please help! When I first bought this computer I tried to install Firefox it crashed and said that there was another instance of Firefox running. Now I tried again to reinstall Firefox and I am getting a new error, which is: Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It maybe missing or inaccessible. I followed one of the forms on this site. I did all that was in the form, IE: I tried to recreate profiles through the profile manager. I also tried to clear the cache in the cache folder. I also tried to move the profile folder via the profile manager. Nothing has worked. Please help me I am very disparate. Also so if necessary is there a way to get live support. thank you :)

Every time I try to change the resolution of YouTube videos, it only provides 360p as an option, with a "Missing options?" message that redirects me to Google help page that just says my browser might be out of date (I'm on most recent Firefox and Windows 10 updates). The quality is still stuck in 360p when I reboot Firefox in Troubleshooting mode, and there are no quality issues when I use a browser like Edge. What should I be checking to resolve the issue?

I'm a long-time user and big fan of T-Bird, but I've been having an issue lately that is driving me nuts.

When using T-Bird, the program frequently locks up for maybe 10-30 seconds, especially when deleting messages, transferring messages to folders, and when downloading new messages. This is super frustrating because it's hard to get much done when your critical software is frequently locking up the entire system.

This happens on all three of my PCs (two workstations and a laptop); two are Win 10, one is Win 11, and this problem is not happening with any other software. I've looked at the task manager when it happens and killed any processes that are taking more than a negligible amount of CPU, but that doesn't fix the problem.

It's hard to know exactly where T-Bird is getting hung up without the right profiling tools, but it seems to happen most frequently when accessing the network. At first I thought it might be a disk space issue, but it's still happening on all the machines even after optimizing the disks and deleting the recycle bin, temporary files, etc. to ensure there's plenty of free disk space.

The only thing I've tried that seems to help a little bit is turning off the quick filter.

I've tried asking support at my ISP (InMotion) if the delay might be caused by the mail server, but sadly they are a bunch of worthless idiots.

Any advice or feedback on how we might narrow down or fix this is much appreciated! :)

Google search has stopped working intermittently for about a month now (August 2024) in Firefox. I haven't seen a real useful fix or explanation of what's going on from Mozilla. Please fix this. It wasn't an issue before.

Hi, I just bought a new computer and downloaded Thunderbird. All was going well until I moved my mouse over where the shortcut button for "Write New Email Message" was (or however it was worded). Somehow, I had to have clicked on the button while moving the mouse. Now, the button is gone and I can not figure out how to restore it. Yes, I know there are other methods of getting to a new message window to transpose. But I would really like to restore the button. Thank you for your help!

I have encountered PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR for the last few days. All websites cannot be accessed. I tried to uninstall/reinstall Firefox several time and nothing works. My system is Windows 11 Home, Version 22H2, Installed on ‎2/‎7/‎2023, OS build 22621.4037. Kaspersky Anti Virus is 21.3.10.319(m).

The browser itself works in 120 Hz, but if you open any page, the phone switches to 60 hz. However, if you open, for example, the keyboard, 120 Hz is enabled again. This makes using Firefox uncomfortable. I have attached screenshots that show my problem.

I upgraded my version of Firefox from an ESR version to v129.0.1 on Debian 12. Drag and drop of files from the desktop or the file manager (PCManFM-Qt) into the browser stopped working. It is still working properly in Chrome.

This occurs with several web apps but, as an example, it occurs when trying to drag a jpeg into Roundcube Webmail while composing a message.

No browser console errors are genrated when trying to do this. It occurs in Troubleshooting (safe) mode as well. In apps that pop-up a "Drag files here" target, that target still appears but dropping the file on it does nothing.

Yesterday I was able to see www.wowpresentsplus.com videos without a problem, but today I'm getting the next error:

Unable to play video. Please try again in a supported browser.

I have the latest version of firefox. I've cleared the cache and so on. Any idea on how to solve this?

All my email accounts worked until 9.30 pm 8/22/24

When I went on the computer on this morning, 8/23/24 I got the following message:

Unable to connect

An error occurred during a connection to localhost.

   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Thunderbird is permitted to access the web.

I cannot send or receive email from Thunderbird. I turned off and on the computer, I'm set at imap, port 993 and OAuth2. I don't know what else to do. FireFox works fine.

Every-time I open up Thunderbird E-mail, I get a pop-up box that says: log-in to account failed (see attached picture) A little information about my situation; I have used Thunderbird E-mail Program for years with my Hotmail Account, without any issues! I have also used "AVG Virus Protection" and I have Windows 10 Pro. My problem is every-time I open up Thunderbird E-mail, I get a pop-up box that says: log-in to account failed (see attached picture) This problem started long before I installed your latest "Thunderbird Version 128.0.1esr (64-bit)" to try and solve this problem, it doesn't matter what I click on, on that pop-up, it keeps reappearing and I can't get my e-mails! However.......I can log into my Hotmail account using "Firefox Browser" and I can get my e-mails, but I don't like their ads, where as with Thunderbird there are no ads! :-) How do I get your program to work again? I assume something changed, to make it not work, but I don't now what that would have been, do you? Today, Firefox stopped playing audio on Facebook videos and won't play Netflix videos at all (Netflix error code: F7701-1003). Youtube works fine and has audio, but several other video sites I've tried have video but no audio. It was all working fine yesterday and I haven't changed any settings.

These websites work fine with both audio and sound on Microsoft Edge on the same laptop, so this is a problem exclusive to Firefox. OS is Windows 11 Home 23H2, Firefox is latest version (129.0.2)

Things I've tried: 1. Refresh Firefox settings 2. Download and install fresh copy of Firefox 3. Toggle DRM content in setting on/off - no difference no matter what is selected 4. Ensure that 'remember history' is selected 5. Check for Windows updates 6. Uninstall audio driver, restart and fresh install of audio driver 7. Ensure it's not in private mode 8. Turn off all extensions 9. Check volume mixer allows sound for Firefox 10. Clear the cache and cookies

I can't find any more suggestions on the internet, so any further suggestions welcome!
