I have already tried adding a boolean named "services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.uiCustomization.state" and set it as "true" according to this answer (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1022917). But it doesn't help with anything... Is there some way to tell my Firefox to sync my customized interface (such as "do not show menu bar" and "do not show search bar" ? Waiting for your help. Thanks. P.S.: It will be better if you can answer this question in Simplified Chinese!

I signed up for Firefox Sync and now I am having trouble getting in because I mistakenly asked to set a "master" password for all platforms. I did not get a message that my password was not acceptable, but it's the only thing I can think of that may be wrong because I have continually put in the password I set this morning. I have requested a link to change my password 3 times now and have received nothing. I'm caught in a loop that wants a password from me, but then tells me it is incorrect, but I can't ask for a"set a new password" without the old password - which apparently I typed incorrectly because I can't get signed in. HELP me - I just want to delete Firefox Sync - it has cost me over two hours today - no time for this!

i have just figured out after searching, that it is not possible to change my email for my firefox sync. it is already a nightmare for me that nokia email provider just simply closes down my account which i use for EVERYTHING in my life... i have somany account to change the email in it, but firefox sync doesn't allow me to do that. i really don't want to lose any details of my mozilla settings, so will it be possible to keep it with a non-existing email? or is there a way to open a new account with a new email and merge my settings to it?

I was unaware of Sync migrating to an account based system before I reformatted my system. I saved my sync code but now I have nowhere to input the code. Another thread here suggested using an older version of FF (29.0.1) as that was before the update, but in the options menu under Sync, there is still no option to input the code. On the Sync options page there is only Create Account, Sign In, and "Using an older version of Sync?" which brings me to a support article that does not help.

I hope Mozilla isn't winding down the slow path to the heap of once useful software that no longer is worth the trouble. Make it useful and make it so that it works and you will own the world. (Think Apple, most of the time)

Started getting the "can't sync" messages on my PC's a few weeks ago. Decided today to dive into it. Tried everything I could think of including:
1. Disabled Sync on all PC's
2. Refreshed or whatever it's called Firefox
3. Downloaded latest exe and installed over old FF
4. Tried everything in Safe mode
5. Turned off any AV and firewall software
6. Dug into the browser logs and it showed certificate issues with Mozilla side
7. Sync error logs - (not showing every line)
Not syncing: login returned false.
Status.login: error.login.reason.network => error.login.reason.network

8. Unable to create a NEW account. "unexpected error"

Hearing lots of unfavorable things about the new Sync and where FF is headed. I am hopeful but not optimistic about things.

I am unable to sign into Firefox Sync on my Samsung Galaxy S4, using the exact same password and user name that I successfully sign in on the desktop computer. On the mobile device, I get a message stating that either the user name or password is incorrect. I want to be able to sync Firefox on the computer with Firefox on the phone, especially for the bookmarks, but I'm unable to do so even following the directions in the How-To video.

Hi, i am seeking a lightweight note-taking app that will sync across my windows XP and my Mac OS X (yosemite), and also even my Android phone if possible, and that will provide offline access. In my search, i found a great Chrome browser-based one, but i don't have Chrome nor do i prefer it-- Firefox is the only one i like to use in any system. (I use FF on win, mac, and my phone.) Okay, so in my search for a firefox-based one, i found QuickFox, and in the info for it says, “if you already have either a bookmarks synchronization add-on (e.g.: XMarks) or a file synchronization software (e.g.: Dropbox, SugarSync, Syncplicity), your notes will be synchronized automatically, no more setups! *** It is highly recommended to use Xmarks to synchronize QuickFox Notes ***”

This has me confused-- can anyone please explain? You see, i already have Dropbox installed on all 3 of my systems. (I use OpenOffice now and sync via dropbox between mac and win, but its way too cumbersome/heavyweight/sluggish... i love the lightweight &instantly-syncing Notes app on my Mac but it is not available on my Win XP...) I don't understand if the QuickFox app would use m Dropbox to sync in the same way (?), or what, but it seems that they are recommending this “Xmarks”s the best option-- and what i don't understand is: why use Xmarks, when you can simply use the builtin Firefox sync to sync your bookmarks? (which is what is already do.) What advantage(s) does Xmarks have over just plain old firefox sync for these bookmarks?

(and while i'm here asking things-- would QuickFox be the best Note-app for my needs? (eg. Very simple, quick, win+mac(+hopefully android too)-syncable, and, very importantly-- with offline access? (ie., for when my internet is down, which happens LOTS, it would still let me take notes on my computers, and would then sync when the internet was back up again)

Thanks so much for your help!

(btw, the quote above: "Be nice. Our volunteers are Mozilla users just like you, who take the time out of their day to help." is great, and i think every forum should have it! It always amazes me how many help-seekers can be so rude and demanding, when usually the help-givers are so kind and generous with their time!)

I always use 1 of 2 same passwords (1 is 7 characters, 1 is 8) for non-important stuff (sorry sync, but I'm not exactly worried about some nefarious international plot to hack my sync account). I'm always signed into sync on all devices and never need my password. I'm trying to upgrade sync and it requires me to sign into my acct (even though I'm already signed in on the device I'm using). It won't accept my password even though I know it's right. It currently requires 8 characters. I suspect the problem is that my password may have been established when 7 character passwords were allowed and the screening process is rejecting my attempts because I'm only entering 7 and it isn't checking for a match. I tried both my 7 and 8 character standard passwords and neither is accepted. The 8 is rejected as wrong; the 7 is rejected because it's not 8 characters.  ???
