I used different methods like this one but it seems none of them are working. These are steps I'm doing:

  • Closing firefox
  • Deleteing new logins.json and key4.db
  • copying old logins.json and key3.db

However as soon as I open firefox it will create a key4.db file and overwrite login.json. I checked my old login.json is in correct format.

I just synced two new devices (Android phone and tablet) using the scanned QR code because I got the error message that the password I was trying to use was incorrect. I don't understand what has happened, as I am "signed in" on desktop, laptop and those two devices with that password, as far as I know.

I was trying to set up the Recovery Key, but that also tells me that the current password is incorrect. I do not want to lose all of my saved passwords, history, etc., which is what it sounds like will happen if I try to reset my password.

Hello Everyone,

I have a Firefox account and I used to have all my passwords saved in Lockwise app (on my Huawei mobile) and in Lockwise section on my laptop (Linux) and all these passwords were synced across all my devices. I changed my mobile to IPhone and I didn't install Lockwise but I was still able to get to my logins via my laptop. And I was very cautious that I kept syncing every now and then.

The problem is that I formatted my laptop recently to windows 11, when I installed Firefox on my laptop again I was expecting to be able to retrieve all my passwords (around 200 entries) since everything was synced, but to my surprise everything was lost except for 16 entries.

Is there any way to backup my old list of passwords?

Please note that I still have my old phone (Huawei) with the old passwords list and the auto sync turned off. Is there any way to backup these passwords from Huawei to Iphone and to my Laptop?

I downloaded Firefox lockwise to my laptop. I am running windows 7. Then i hit sync to my mobile phone, which does not have firefox on it. Now my phone is asking for a password to unlock the phone. I have tried numerous passwords and still can't unlock the phone. My landline phone number is showing up on the screen when I push the on button, but when I swipe the screen it shows enter password to unlock. How do I get back to normal on my phone and delete sync from the phone? I have disconnected sync on my laptop with no success. Help ASAP please. email:

Hey I was just trying to login to my account after I created a new windows and I got this issue The confirmation email we sent to *********@gmail.com was returned and we’ve locked your account to protect your Firefox data.

If this is a valid email address, let us know and we can help unlock your account. No longer own that email? Create a new account

Well can you just unlock my account as I know the password and have big data needed there. Also this email is closed by google and I mean closed not forgotten so it won't receive any emails.

I installed Firefox on a new device and initiated a sync for multi-account containers - it promptly synced in the wrong direction. It eliminated all customization from what should have been the source (the existing device), overwriting it with the default settings of a first-time installation. I was quite surprised.

This leads me to a couple of questions.

1. Is there a sync version history or any way of rolling back a sync? 2. Is there a way to explicitly choose the sync direction?

Quite honestly it is very confusing that there is no reference whatsoever to which way an initial sync will go. I was hesitant to risk this, decided to trust it knew what to do (even though it didn't give me any indication that it did) and lost my gamble.

Firefox knows the device names, so can I suggest some basic reassuring UX be inserted into this process with something like "Initiate sync from X-DEVICE-FIREFOX to Y-DEVICE-FIREFOX?". A bit of clarity would be helpful here, as well as a way to roll back a syncing mistake instead of just having to gamble possibly losing hard-won customization with no going back.

Or have I completely stumbled past some obvious place where everything I'm requesting exists and is accessible already?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

I have a duplicate Firefox account that I would like to close.

I forgot the password for this account, and when I go to https://accounts.firefox.com/reset_password to reset it, I enter my email address for the account I'd like to log into and it fails every time with the message "Primary account email required for reset".

The API response includes the error message "Reset password with this email type is not currently supported".

My account email address ends in @hey.com. Is this domain not allowed for password resets?

Hi I'm a student and tedsmith1378@gmail.com account holder. I decided to install Windows 11 a few minutes ago and synced my Firefox account, but unfortunately I forgot that I had to remove the recovery code before installing Windows. On the other hand, because I recently changed my phone, I do not have access to my previous phone. But I am a student and I desperately need my usernames and account passwords as well as my bookmarks for my research and lessons. In the attachment, I will send you a screenshot of my browser a few days before changing Windows I am desperately asking for your help. I can answer any question you have about your account.

Hello, I'm behind a corporate proxy server and I had no issues with this until a couple of months ago. First I was using FoxyProxy, and one day I realized that Firefox wasn't syncing so I started troubleshooting (Troubleshoot mode) and found out that when a proxy addon (now I moved to SmartProxy and it's the same) is enabled Sync fails. I even tried setting up a new profile with a different, new, Firefox Sync account and the outcome is the same. Anyone else having this trouble? Is this a bug? Should I report it? Anyone wants to help me reproduce it? Thanks in advance!

PS: This happens on my Windows 10 machine too.
