My husband's Windows computer failed, and I am setting up his new Chromebook as a holiday gift.

Unfortunately, the instructions for setting Private Mode as the default for Firefox don't fit what I see on the Acer Chromebook 315.

Please provide appropriate instructions. I want to place it in his office, ready to go, before he gets up tomorrow morning, December 25. I am in Central Time in the US.

My browser is not working as it should. Several sites do not work anymore and the browser keeps crashing. I'd like to refresh the browser, but the button is missing. I tried going to troubleshooting mode, but the button is not there either.

Not sure if uninstalling would do the same thing? Just not sure what is the best way to refresh. Thanks for any help!

Looking at my Firefox 147.0.1 settings for macOS 26.2 (Apple M1), I'm trying to adjust two settings:

-- I'd like to remove Languages -> English (GB) (its existence has odd side effects, like triggering United Airlines to offer fares in Pounds Sterling, and I'd prefer to just have English (US))

-- I'd like to disable Play Audio and Video for about:welcome (in regular and private windows)

I can see no way to accomplish this currently -- why?

I receive emails automatically, but they only go into my inbox. They don't go into folders I've organized with Gmail labels. I can receive emails by clicking on the folder.

Subject: Persistent SMTP block on specific Outlook account (IMAP functional) Problem Description: Systematic failure of outgoing emails via SMTP on Mozilla Thunderbird for the address redacted@outlook.be. Crucial Note: Incoming mail (IMAP) works perfectly with the same credentials, proving that the authentication and the password used are correct. Technical Data & Actions Taken: SMTP Configuration: Server smtp.office365.com, Port 587, STARTTLS (or port 465 SSL/TLS). Authentication: Using a 16-character App Password generated after enabling Two-Step Verification. Symptom: Systematic rejection of the SMTP connection (Command Error 12 or timeout). Other Outlook accounts configured on the same Thunderbird client and the same internet connection (Belgium) are working without any issues. Tests Performed: Complete purge of Thunderbird's password manager, alias verification, and full restart of network equipment. Conclusion: Since the reception service is operational and full access is functional via Webmail/Outlook App, the block is specific to the SMTP protocol for this particular account on the Microsoft server side. Dear Thunderbird Developers,

I am writing to express my frustration regarding the recent UI changes. After the latest update, the standard toolbar icons (Get Messages, Write, Address Book, reply, etc.) completely disappeared for me, leaving behind nothing but a search bar. Even using the "Restore Default Set" option fails to bring the essential navigation buttons back. While I can eventually fix these issues as a power user, these constant, breaking UI changes are a major problem for average users. For instance, my 65-year-old mother relies on a stable interface. Every time a rollout breaks the visual layout or hides basic functions, she is unable to use her email until I step in to fix what the update messed up.

Forcing users to manually rebuild their primary navigation toolbar after an update is not a "feature"—it’s a regression that alienates long-time especially elderly users who need reliability over constant redesigns. Please prioritize UI stability and ensure that "Reset to Default" actually restores a functional set of icons.

If you need further information I'll be glad to hear and hope you can give me an easy fix for this problem.

I have for years hated that the right mouse click on a link had "open link in new tab" at the top of the menu, but accepted it as the item I wanted was only the second one down "open link in new window" and it was easy enough with my aging eyes not to have to read the item and have complete confidence that the second item would be selected and would be the item intended to select.

Now, in version 150 you have introduced another item which interfers with my selection.

I detest, hate, the horror of ""Open in Split View." This should NOT BE FORCED ON ME.

I hope in a future version you will allow complete customization of that menu, so that the available items may be reordered as the user needs, especially so I may have "open link in new window" at the top of the menu

I have set my version back to 149.0.2, disabled automatic dates, and will check to see when you have an improved browser with more complete customization possible for users, even ones you do not know.

If "open in split view" had been put lower in the menu, perhaps I would be pleased to explore its usefulness, but you were impertinent and presumptuous to try to force it on me.

Very frustrating to try to open a new link only to loose HALF the screen I am currently using and NO WAY to move said tab off.

Unbelievably weird placement of this "feature".

I updated to Firefox 149 (German User) and did not get the Seutp prompt mentioned in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/built-in-vpn#w_turn-on-vpn-in-firefox I Also tried https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/built-in-vpn#w_how-do-i-turn-off-or-remove-vpn-from-my-toolbar to check the Optiions in the Settings, but there is also the part "VPN" missing. In the Help Section it says that I have installed 149.0 (64-Bit) Windows Version. Is there something missing?
