After new installation of windows 11 and Thunderbird at 15.Jan 2025 the connetion to my e-mail accounts cannot be opened by saved passwords - every time I open Thunderbird I have to tip in my passwords. Very uncomfortably.

Hello, I received an email from Spectrum (.TWC) that I needed to change my password by Nov. 11th. I did change it last evening. Now today I cannot receive my email via Mozilla Thunderbird, I receive the pop up to Enter the Password when I open it.

Then a second submit I added: -I came to search helps as to why I need to add the password every time I open Thunderbird's password. I searched and found something similar to what I am having problems with here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1525666

I removed the password that was there for years, I then shut Thunderbird, retyped the new password and it still does not work, and in the Settings Security Password there is no more the TWC in the list but only the hotmail account I have also in the list. Now I do not know how to ADD a new Password in the Settings Password. I am stuck there. No more emails coming in for two days now.-

Then the third submit I added: -I still cannot set the Password that the support above said to remove, I cannot add a new password and the settings shows that .twc is not on the list any more for Setting Security.

Also once in a while it shows a pop up at the right bottom of the page. I added it as an image.

Can someone please help me with this so I can get my .twc mail back. I tried myself and it does not work, I've read many Helps and it's not the issue that I have.-

I tried the original password, made several new ones and it still not working nor showing the .twc account password in the Settings, Security and Passwords area.

I am at a loss and need TB to work as it was before Spectrum informed that I need to change my Spectrum Password before Nov. 11.

Unbeknownst to myself, I have been using Firefox for the greater part of a year without formally signing in. I've had a Mozilla account for some time, so I simply logged in and thought nothing of it. A few days later I tried to fetch a password for a service I use and noticed that all of my passwords were gone. I've tried going to about:profiles and trying both profiles listed, with no luck. I've checked my Desktop for any file dump, but no luck there either. Any advice would be appreciated!

I did change my password. On the IPhone and the webmail page the password is working perfectly, but in thunderbird I cannot connect to the server. It seems, the old password is somewhere registered and still used under Thunderbird. What can I do to use Thunderbird with the new password?

We recently changed our email password on GoDaddy (Microsoft 365 email), but Thunderbird is still able to send and receive emails without prompting us to enter the new password. Previously, after changing the password, Thunderbird would stop working and ask us to update the credentials.

Why is Thunderbird not prompting us to enter a new password? Is there a caching issue, or has something changed in Thunderbird's authentication process? What should we do to force Thunderbird to request the new password?

I think that I have been using Thunderbird as an email client for many many years from the early 2000's. And due to my ignorance I never provided a password for the servers in my Pop 3 I left the box blank , and the same on my Imap account. I note that it always said that the password was insecure,which is not surprising as there was no password. Now this year I updated my Ubuntu LTS to the latest LTS 2404. And something went wrong as I lost the Dual Boot facility and Windows 10. Which I had had for many years. And as of about March this year I no longer have thunderbird send to my computer any copy of emails that I send and that are sent to me. I have no doubt that it is my fault. . I have purchased a Laptop from Holland with only Ubuntu on it and that as of July this year also does not send to it this new Laptop any copies of emails that I send or that are sent to me. I was with NTLworld from the early 2000's and am now with Virginmedia.com. And they have recently merged with O2, and I have a new sign in Password and Identity . And I am unable to find the old password that I used to sign in to Virginmedia. I understand that due to cost cutting they might in future do away with providing emails for their clients in the first instance. I have several email account set up with Comcast and am able to sign on to all but one with Thunderbird. That one gives me the login has failed message to enter new password or try again. I've compared the settings on that account with the others that work and they appear to be correct. However when I check saved passwords, that account is missing the smtp line for the POP account. At this point, I've run out of ideas of what to do, short of deleting that account on Thunderbird and setting it up as a new account. Help! Thanks.

Hello, every time I want to send or accept a message Thunderbird keeps asking me to enter my password. This is very irritating, although I activated the option 'Remember password' during the set up of my mail address. Can you help me with this? Thanks.

When I go to the website https://www.rebateinternational.com/RebateInternational/contactUs.do and I try to fill out the webform on that page and use autofill to fill in the e-mail address, it gives me an error message that says "please enter a valid email address" even though the e-mail address is valid. Also, if I do not use autofill, but simply type everything in manually, it still gives me that same error message. This problem does not occur in Google Chrome, but it does occur in Firefox. Sometimes I can solve the problem by erasing part of the email address and then re-typing that part, but that doesn't always work. It also doesn't work if I erase the entire e-mail address and type it in manually. The problem does not appear to be caused by add-ons and does not appear to be caused by hardware acceleration, because I have disabled add-ons and have turned off hardware acceleration. It also does not appear to be caused by cache and cookies, because the same problem occurs after I clear the cache and cookies. I will appreciate any response you can provide to help solve this problem.

I have a number of E-Mail accounts that work perfectly, however for one of these I have to repeatedly enter my Password, although I have the switch "save password" activated.

I am seeing the creation of a file "logins.db" when opening thunderbird.

When I open the file with textedit, it begins with "SQLite format 3". It looks like a script to me, including things like "ON loginsL (is_deleted, origin)" and "idx_loginsM_is_overridden_origin".

I can delete and it's recreated when launching Thunderbird.

Is this file legit? Can anyone confirm having this file, too? I'm running Mac OS 15.7.1 with Thunderbird 145.

i have tried updating my pass word for Xfinity i have tried several passwords that work in Xfinity when try to change to Thunder bird it keeps asking me for the password i have tried several times to add it. i saw strange names and emails on my Xfinity account so i tried removing the password and every time Thunderbird keeps asking me for the xfinity pass wor. it works in xfinity but cn not get it to work in thunder bird Please help i do not know what do do i fi delete thiunder bird and stt over i lose alll my contacts and do not know how to SAVE THEM PLEASE HELP not sure i can get the email unless i go to xfinity mail

My Thunderbird often loses the saved passwords. Probably when the connection is not working properly. Then I always have to type in the many passwords again. How can I save the file with the passwords so that I can restore them with a bat job when calling TB?

You managed to change my password for accessing AMAZON to a very long password that has never worked so far for the last two months! So, I have been denied a site I use to use regularly and you still deny a human to ask for help, only your jog-related jargon!

I would hate to sue you but AMAZON may help me when they hear what you've done to me, and perhaps hundreds of other former customers.

So, help me get back to AMAZON today!

I have swapped to Thunderbird and struggling to get my mailboxes up and running Currently my big stumbling block is that I cannot get Thunderbird to remember my mailbox password. I did try checking the box to use the password manager, and it did store it correctly according to the saved passwords in the 'Saved Logins' dialogue in settings but still the problem persists It has worked on occasions but very intermittent and for the past day or so refuses to connect The password that I give to Thunderbird, and the one saved in Saved Logins is correct and works if I try my webmail alternative login Originally I thought the issue may be my Kaspersky Internet Security butting in but I have the same problem when I pause the protection I am out of ides so any help would be gratefully received Regards Greg

I see very poor answers (lack of ui/userinterface and just plain lack of human factors for this problem.

UI/HF engineers can explain things so easy, but not here!
