FireFox Tab Groups can remain closed and be re-opened via "List All Tab Groups"

That's why I use FireFox (v146/v147) and not Edge or Chrome

BUT what worked well these last four months suddenly stopped working TODAY, i.e.

 "List All Tab Groups" has disappeared and all I see are tab groups created today

Sadly I never created any FireFox account until a few minutes ago Does that mean those lost Tab Groups can only be recreated manually or is there an easier way ?

( I don't know how to implement jscher2000's script on GitHub )

Will this catastrophe happen every time FireFox auto-updates itself on start-up (v147 since Jan13) ???

All of a sudden my bookmarks and history have disappeared and I cannot add new bookmarks. I have researched this and tried everything I could find to fix - namely restarting FF, restarting the PC, renaming places.sqlite, using task manger to locate which app is locking the file. I also used the Places Database to Verify Integrity and here are the results: Task: checkIntegrity - Unable to fix corruption, places.sqlite will be replaced on next startup > Task: checkCoherence - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: expire - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: vacuum - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: stats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: _refreshUI - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task.

Nothing has worked. Help!

firefox suddenly stopped showing any history or book marks. also no history. i've re downloaded, no change. all works well with chrome but i like firefox. and thoughts?

Help me download a new Firefox app and show me how to find my former apps. I clicked on Profiles and my previous app came up. Now how do i save it into a new app/or save it?

I am on MacBook Pro Venture 13.4.1, firefox 147.0.1. How do I restore old windows with their tabs? I tried to have only one of my 5 windows (with tabs) opening every time I opened firefox. Always two opened, the second one was always the same and not one I had most recently used. Couldn't find an answer, so I went to settings and turned off "Open previous windows and tabs" and turned off firefox and back on again. Then all my windows were gone! How do I get those 5 windows back?

Maybe that's at the root of the problem I'm constantly having with my history & bookmarks being unavailable every time Windows updates? The strange thing is that this page shows that Firefox does know I'm using 11.

I've already posed the question I have about resolving that matter. Hope this helps someone figure out the answer. Thanks to whoever tries!

a few days ago I received a message that i had an upgrade from Firefox. After that I can't find the bookmarks I had saved for paying bills as well as other important items.

Recently, Firefox updated and ask me to setup a profile, which I have not yet done since importing my data from google chrome in 2025. After skipping the setup, Firefox then deleted all my data and it has since been irecoverable. I have already checked the box last update that specifically said to not ask me again for setting up my profile. After the recent update, the question popped up again and now I cannot recover my original profile, all my browsing history, all my browser-saved data, and all my cookies and logins

Firefox recently started asking for a profile when I tried opening a link from email but, not having a profile, I ignored it. If I copied the link into my firefox browser (already open) I could see the link contents, i.e. page(s) opened. Since then I have closed Firefox and now get asked about a profile and have tried using original and creating a new one. We have, unfortunately, reinstalled firefox so this is now more complex. At present, whether I login to Mozilla account or not, my passwords, history etc are no longer on my laptop, despite supposedly being connected. Firefox on my phone is currently the only source of my passwords etc, which is not good as I cannot export from there!

Can I restore this info somehow? We've tried a few suggestions found on the web, but no good yet.

Has something changed recently? My husband got the same profile request on opening Firefox but it worked when he selected use original/default profile.
