After the latest auto update all of my history, tabs/windows, and bookmarks were deleted and I can't recover them. I have tried importing bookmarks and it does not allow me to upload an old data file and I can't restore my previous session. I tried checking both profiles but neither had my information saved and now when I open the about:profiles says "Another copy of Firefox has made changes to profiles. You must restart Firefox before making more changes."

I'm scared to try anything else because I don't want to mess anything up further but I really need my tabs and history back.

I restarted my computer and then reopened firefox and it had updated and I noticed my bookmarks were gone but my windows/tabs were open, so I tried to choose a file on the bookmark backup and nothing was happening so I restarted and after that all my history and tabs were gone and I couldn't restore them.

I recently upgraded Firefox to 145.0.1 but all my bookmarks are missing. I have a backup file. I tried to restore the bookmarks by opening the Library & selecting Restore (under Import & Backup), then clicking "Choose file". However, nothing happened; no further pop-up window. Please advise.

Recently, Firefox updated and ask me to setup a profile, which I have not yet done since importing my data from google chrome in 2025. After skipping the setup, Firefox then deleted all my data and it has since been irecoverable. I have already checked the box last update that specifically said to not ask me again for setting up my profile. After the recent update, the question popped up again and now I cannot recover my original profile, all my browsing history, all my browser-saved data, and all my cookies and logins

Seit dem 25.12.2025 habe ich meine Lesezeichen und Passwörter, wahrscheinlich nach einem Update oder einer unbeabsichtigten Fehleingabe nicht mehr zur Verfügung. ich möchte meine Firefox-Version wieder auf den Stand vom 24.12.2025 zurücksetzen. Was kann ich tun oder kann man auch telefonisch Kontakt aufnehmen in deutscher Sprache?

All my Firefox bookmarks are GONE. I followed the directions for restoration, and the Restore (etc) window has nothing in it. I saved the bookmarks to a JSON (HTML) file on an external hard drive, but I cannot find a way to restore them. I'm just about tired of Firefox and the consistent problems. Please restore my faith. Thank you.

I opened a profile that I had just used recently to a blank tab bar. I closed it and the sessionstore-backup folder did not have a recent backup, The most recent about a week old.

Just for testing, I tried to restore with one of the upgrade.jsonlz4 file, about 2 weeks old, but it also had no session. I then restored one that was 2 months old. That one had a session

Now, Firefox no longer generates the upgrade.jsonlz4 files

I just had Firefox overwrote a session restore I had open for a long time with a few hundred tabs. Is there any way to see prior session history or backup these sessions without manually copying the files? If not will these features ever be added?

About a week ago, I discovered that all of my bookmarks were gone. (And, I haven't done any Firefox updates, even in the past year.) I looked at where the bookmarks normally were, and all that I saw was the sentence, "For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar. Manage bookmarks (link)..." When I clicked on the link and tried to restore them, there were none listed. I went so far as to try to restore my computer to a previous date. But, the only dates that appeared for a restore were dates that were after"' the date that this mess happened. I REALLY need to restore those bookmarks as soon as possible. Can anyone help?

SUBJECT: Profile missing after update to 146.0.1 

After the last Firefox update (146.0.1), I can no longer access my profile that included bookmarks, history and passwords.  

After the update was done on 12/19/25, I was given the option to choose between my original profile and a newly created one. The next day when I opened Firefox, there was only one profile shown and my original profile was gone. I have read numerous fixes for this problem but nothing seems to work.

I have done the following to try to locate my missing profile to no avail. 1. I went to the Profile Manager but the only profile listed was the newly created one. 2. I didn't do a refresh so there was no "Old Firefox Data" folder to copy the data from. 3. Used about:Profiles, Again only the newly created profile was listed 4. I used ~Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles. Still no luck. 

Could my profile have been moved to another place or could it be hidden? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

all bookmarks are now missing. Firefox did an update recently when I restarted my desktop. I have gone through the forums and just checked the 'Places Database' when I pressed verify integrity I get the message:

so now what should I do??

I logged into my firefox account on my mobile to sync all the data from my PC. But I didn't remember the password and did not have access to my PC. So I reset my firefox password and that caused all data to be deleted like passwords and bookmarks. What can I do to recover that? Please help.

I powered up my MacBook the other day, and Firefox updated. Then, suddenly, all my bookmarks and history were gone. I have tried the "about:Profiles" and nothing is there. I have read here that many with OS have encountered the same issue.

What is the fix?
