While using my Android phone, all of a sudden, when I switch screens, when I come back to Focus, it resets as if I had cleared the history and I have to get back to the page I was looking at by retyping in the search. All of a sudden, this happens each time I switch screens.

I have the "Autofill in other apps" service set to Firefox but when I attempt to enter a password in any app, I get a message taht says "Unlock Firefox." Tapping on this message does nothing; the message just keeps popping up. No password options appear. If I manually start typing the password, the message goes away, but I am not able to autofill passwords in apps.

If I turn the Autofill in other apps service off, at least I don't get the annoying message, but I'd really like to be able to autofill the passwords. Any suggestions?

I am using Firefox 96.0.1 on macOS Monterey 12.1

If you have "'Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed checked in Privacy & Security/Cookies and Site Data then this causes sites that use a service worker to fail registration with the error:

"Failed to register/update a ServiceWorker for scope https://every-layout.dev/: Storage access is restricted in this context due to user settings or private browsing mode."

This *only* occurs with Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Brave etc. all register the service worker OK. I know the workaround is to put in an Exception to Allow but this should not be necessary. In this case the service worker is use to provide access to paid for content and off-line reading.

I contacted the site's developers and they tell me that they have been waiting for ages for Mozilla to fix this issue and suggested I used an alternative browser.

Can anyone explain why Firefox behaves in this way and if this "feature" will be fixed on future releases?

Thanks

John

Autofill Addresses shows up under Forms & Autofill, but not credit cards! Sequence of events: 1) Credit card autofill worked fine. 2) Installed (Intego) VPN & software suite. Set the net barrier application rule to block ksfetch; allowed all other Firefox connections. Credit card auto fill info showed per usual but now would not populate. 3) Researching in FF forums, changed a few extensions.formautofill settings. That's when credit card section disappeared from Settings. Thought it was a good time to stop; did not take screen shot of settings before making changes, so thought it best to reach out. All help is appreciated!

Here are the current 14 settings with prefix "extensions.formautofill." 1)addresses.capture.enabled - false 2)addresses.enabled - false (all bold) 3)available - on (all bold) 4)creditCards.available - true 5)creditCards.enabled - true 6)creditCards.hideui - true (all bold) 7)creditCards.used - 3 (all bold) 8)firstTimeUse - true 9)heuristics.enabled - true 10)loglevel - Warn 11)reauth.enabled - true 12) section.enabled - true 13) supportRTL - false; 14)supportedCountries - US,CA

I would like to name my credit cards ("Irl's AMEX", "B's auto Visa"). Safari allows this but Firefox doesn't seem to. Or at least I can't find it. Basically, when I view a saved credit card, instead of seeing, e.g., "****1234 2025-01" I'd like to see a text entry which I can edit. I'm even willing to do a bit of fancy footwork (add something to the .plist, say). OS X High Sierra, 10.13.6.

Hi, recently I setup a home server for my local lan. Through the use of AdGuardHome and Nginx Proxy Manager, I have attempted to redirect websites I wish to avoid (in this case adult websites). The problem is that Firefix gives the error code MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT and won't allow me to create an exception. As an example, i've tried redirecting google.com to duckduckgo.com. I've looked up solutions to this but nothing has helped. Thanks

I am using Firefox on a MacBook Air with OS 11.6.2 in order to use online banking in Portugal. I need and have generated a Digital Certificate at the bank, but when I try to import it so that the bank with recognize my device it gives me an error messages of " Unable to import this item" and Unknown format in input". I spoke to Apple support already and they suggested that I speak with you first to see if you would know why this problem is occurring. I have been using this computer in the past to access the accounts, but because my Digital Certificate has now expired I am required to generate a new one. I have attempted this 9 times in the last two days without success. I have also spoken with the bank in Portugal and they were not able to determine why I cannot import/save this certificate to my computer. Also the MacBook Air is from early 2014.

When I would go into Bing, I would go into settings and change from "Moderate" to "Strict"; I would also uncheck "Search Suggestions" so suggestions don't fill in as I type. Then I would click "Save". Until recently, these settings held with no problem. Now after I click "Save" and go back to the main screen in Bing (or come back to Bing after being somewhere else), I'm back to "Moderate" and suggestions fill in as I type. Microsoft claims this is Firefox's issue and needs to be fixed at Firefox's end. Others are posting on Microsoft's answers forums, some also using Firefox, but not all. I love Firefox and I'm not changing to something else, so can you tell me how this Bing issue might be fixed? Thank you.

FireFox has been my default browser for many years and it has been great, no problems. Within the past three months, however, I've been unable to access financial sites that I regularly use. The first was in October when one site upgraded its account access security. Initially, FireFox worked after the upgrade, but then I could no longer log into my account. I spoke to support staff for that website and they said they've been receiving complaints from other clients who use FireFox and suggested I use another browser, which I did and was able to access my account. Today another financial site suddenly blocked access using FireFox with a message that I needed to unblock cookies for the site, so I went into FireFox security settings and added the site's address to the exceptions list, but still could not enter the site. I am having no problems logging onto these sites with another browser, but FireFox is not working. Any suggestions? I would like to keep FireFox as my default browser, if that's possible. Thanks!

Hello. First, fantastic work on the browser! Second, recently my secure connection to a specific site keeps dropping. I use Firefox to connect to tutanota.com (de). I have HTTPS Everywhere and uBlock Origin installed. When I first log in it's working as expected, zero issues. After about 30 minutes to an hour I now see the error stating that my connection is not encrypted, and mentions something about loading external images. I already told the support team at Tutanota that I have no images loading, but it's still showing the error. They said the connection should still be secure, but that doesn't make sense if the browser itself is saying it's not secure. It happened around the time where I also had DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials installed as well, but I have since uninstalled that add-on. Still showing error. Please advise.

Yesterday, Thunderbird was automatically updated to 91.4.1 on my Windows 10 laptop. Now my gmail accounts fail to authorize. When I start Thunderbird, a splash screen appears "Secure connection failed". The title bar on the splash screen says "Enter credentials for xxxxx@gmail.com on imap.gmail.com" (xxxxx represents my username). There is nowhere to enter credentials as far as I can see.
