I have been watching YouTube for years, issue free. This week I was blocked, as my computer may be blocking ads and thus violating You Tubes policy. How can I find and disable ad block programs/ extensions, thus allowing me to get back on You tube. I can recognize an outright program, but do not knew if extensions are in play that are not obvious to me. THANKS

I look at porn on my Android phone. I use Private Browsing to do so. Why are my Private Browsing addresses appearing as Firefox Suggest results that appear outside of Private Browsing as well? And why does Pornhub show me a personalized home page when I'm using Private Browsing? None of these pages are in my browser history because I've only accessed them via Private Browsing. But these "features" sort of defeat the purpose of it don't you think?
I've just switched from Chrome to Firefox and never had this issue with Chrome.

I cannot find a way to add websites to the location permissions in Firefox Windows PC. I can easily get to the "Location Permissions settings " but there is no way to add, only remove. When I display the access icon in the URL address bar, it shows " you have granted the website additional permissions" , but the site does not display in the FF Settings-Location Box, and the target website does allow me access based on location. Is there another area where location is restricted? would appreciate some help, thx.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I use the Thunderbird email client on my Microsoft Windows 10 desktop tower PC in order to access my Gmail account using POP3, using "only" my email address and password.
However, I note that Google plan to introduce more stringent and tighter sign in/authentication methods from September 2024 as follows:

Does Thunderbird have a workaround for Google's plans please?
Thanking you.

Is there a security setting that allows me to show all my passwords rather than having to toggle them on each time?
I am a recluse. There's never anyone looking over my shoulder. I just don't want to have to mess with it anymore.
If there isn't, could some kind developer please make an add-on?
I am using two computers: an iMac (late 2009) running 10.13.6 (High Sierra) and a Macbook Pro (13-inch, 2012) running 10.15.7 (Catalina).
Thank you!

I am on endeavourOS (linux). Whenever I try to upload images for a profile picture to sites like youtube or X, the image becomes corrupted and doesn't upload correctly. It did this with whatsapp too and I had to use a separate app for it. Other posts said that disabling "privacy.resistFingerprinting" would fix it, but it's already disabled.
Attached below are an example of this bug and the contents of this image when viewed on a text editor.

Firefox 125.0.1 update breaks all self signed certificates
After the latest auto update I can no longer access any of my management screens on my private network with self signed certificates. This is a real problem. I have attached a couple error screen grabs, but ALL of themn are the same. The information link says there is no workaround!
So how do I recover access? Chrome works just fine ... so it is def. a Firefox problem.

Firefox periodically says I am "forbidden" to enter my Kaiser website (KP.org). I know what Mozilla recommends as a fix, which is to clear data and cookies. But this creates more problems because I have to re-enter passwords and other settings. This is a problem Mozilla's website reports has been occurring for YEARS! Why can't Mozilla/Firefox fix this? Please tell me there is a better way to fix this problem.

Remote images will not display, even after specifically enabling remote images for each email, or after turning on "display remote content" as a default. Also it claims there is a potential security threat with Thunderbird's own web addresses: "live.thunderbird.net." and "addons.thunderbird.net.".
I have attached screen-shots of the error messages, and of a thunderbird email that fails to display its images.

I must admit that I was very upset when I discovered some time ago that permissions for my files and folders in .thunderbird were messed up in a way that had given all files permission to run as programs. Now I have been living with it for a while without disaster, and I found out the reason for it is that I used ntfs format instead of ext4 on my backup disk. However it still feels bad, and I still don't know how to fix it correctly.
I have for many years before used Fat32 for my backup, .thunderbird included. And it looks like Fat32 takes all those permissions away, so if I just do that again and restore, the illness in quest will be cured. There are some symbolic files I can't copy to Fat32 but Thunderbird doesn't seem to care. Could that be a good way to fix it.?
Or can I perhaps expect an automatic update eventually will fix it.?
Or how do I fix it correctly.?
Thank you in advance.

Received email from Telstra "From 30 January 2024, Telstra will stop allowing any emails to be sent from unauthenticated email addresses. To continue to send email, you will need to update your security settings for each device that you use to check and send emails https://www.telstra.com.au/support/email/unauthenticated-traffic-limit "
Unfortunetly this link does not give instructions for Thunderbird. Contacted Telstra support and they said to contact Thunderbird support.
Screen shot of current settings attached. Have been getting the following message when sending multiple emails - "Reference: 451-4.5.3. OB315 Unauthenticated traffic limit met."
Can someone help with this. Thanks in advance.

I am having trouble adding a second email account in Thunderbird (115.8.1). First comcast account was very easy, standard comcast defaults, works fine, downloads and sends. Second comcast account keeps giving "Unable to Connect" poput screen. (https://localhost/?code=0.ac.w2.PciwTw)
I can login to either Xfinity email account through Firefox browser using same addresses ((username)@comcast.net) and passwords I am using to attempt to add second account in Thunderbird.
Tried it with Mint Firewall off, then on, then off again. Do I need to setup firewall for second account?
Can someone give me a hint on this problem? Is is Thunderbird? Comcast? Something else?

Since the update I've had a few issues, most I was able to fix but this one eludes me. Opening up various news sites I get the "Firefox prevented this page from reloading" error at the top and clicking allow does nothing. Anyone know how to get around this error? I'm not looking to totally disable the FF feature that prevents other pages from loading a different one, but just to browse the website after hitting 'allow'.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
For a long time, I was able to launch Firefox on Windows with the startup switch "-private" which would cause it to launch directly into private browsing mode. I used that in a few local scripts, and created a shortcut to the executable, with this path:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -private"
Just like that, it worked. Whether by shortcut, terminal command, or execution of a 3rd party script, that startup switch would always open a private browsing window. Until a few months ago, that is, when it suddenly stopped working. Rather than opening a private browsing window, it now does one of two things:
1. If FF was not already running, it opens FF to a tab showing a warning that I am not in private browsing, with a button I can click to launch a private browsing window. (see attached image) This tells me it recognized the startup switch, but...refused to honor it? 2. If a FF window is already open, it launches another (non-private) Firefox window, with no warning about not being in Private Browsing mode.
Was this an intentional change? Is that startup switch just not supported anymore? I tried a quick web search, but all I was finding were unhelpful suggestions like "right click on the FF icon" and "pin to start." Not what I'm looking for.
Thank you!

Currently unable to set up to an existing account on a new laptop. I’ve verified user name and password on the old laptop, but these don’t work when setting up the new one. The Thunderbird set-up wizard found my configuration in the Mozilla ISP DB, but can’t verify it. In other words, it won’t accept my username or password. I’ve done this for both IMAP and POP3, but it makes no difference. I’ve confirmed user name and password for both smtp and mail folders, and tried them in setting up. However, on the new laptop, Thunderbird doesn’t ask for user name, but just the name as displayed to others. Once I get set up, I’d like to copy my archive into the new system. One thing at a time…
