When I open Thunderbird (Mozilla), my files are not current. In other words, the most recent emails, probably since the last time I used Thunderbird, in my file folders are missing. I have tried changing the server settings but I think they are correct. Please be patient with me, I am unfamiliar with all the terminology, etc. Also, when I first enter Thunderbird, it does not recognize my password. A window opens with the message "Login to server imap.postoffice.net with username john.fn@usa.net failed." That message also appears when I click on Get Messages. Thanks for any help.

Machine: Dell Inspiron 15 5567 CPU: Intel i5-7xxx Op Sys: Ubuntu 24.04.1 Firefox version: Flathub 130.0

For the past 2 weeks Firefox has been repeatedly crashing soon after going on to certain sites or trying to apply my 2FA authenticator add-on.

Suddenly there's a screen shudder and a new window opens, inviting me to submit a crash report. See attached image.

I do not believe that this is down to Ubuntu 24.04 upgrade done at end of August.

But it's enough for me to largely go over to Chromium and Firefox Dev Ed.

If Mozilla don't act on this crashing I can see its market being lost fairly fast.

the past 4 producers have told me they cant hear me on google video chat (https://meet.google.com/) i'm on firefox. it worked fine forever, then no one could hear me and i reported it a bunch to google and firefox because it was clearly a firefox issue. someone on their end fixed it. it was working for a while. now its back to people not being able to hear me again when its not a me problem. i keep reporting it and its not being fixed. how do i escalate this? why does this keep having every few months?

zero issues on google chrome browser while video chatting. zero issues on zoom. its firefox's google videochat that people cant hear me. feels like a repeat issue of what happened months ago when the issue wasnt with me. please fix this again

Hello,

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, and years prior to this date; in fact since I first got my laptop, I was able to clear my cookies and cache. I would go to my menu, select History and select Clear Recent History. The box to clear my cookies and cache would show, and I would click on Clear. When I would go back to the menu, and select History, it would show Empty.

On Thursday, July 18, 2024, and since, I have not been able to clear my cookies and cache. All the days of entries since July 18. 2024 are piling up.

I certainly do not know what changed. I would appreciate your listing step by step what I need to do to get my cookies and cache to work/clear.

Or, if you can just fix the problem, please. My laptop is Windows 10, and I use Firefox. Thank you.

I have Thunderbird 128.2.2 installed on my desktop and 128.2.1 on my laptop. My laptop works fine with an Office 365 Outlook IMAP account and an Office 365 Outlook POP account. My desktop with 128.2.2 indicates "Authentication failure while connecting to server".

I downgraded my desktop to 128.2.1 and it works fine.

I assume there is a new bug in 128.2.2 that causes the problem.

Is there some way that I can nullify the format changes in the v128.x message list, compared to v115.x, so that my UserChrome.css tweaks that are functioning well in v115.x are not broken? Perhaps there are some new Config flags that might be set? I hate to have to redo a bunch of carefully calibrated work.

Why and why are more and more websites doing this on Firefox yet Google Chrome allows me to, so i have to open Google Chrome to be able to get to websites i used to open on Firefox. My Thunderbird recently updated itself to 128.2.0esr (32-bit). Right after that, my Gmail account in Thunderbird started a process of downloading messages into the Important Mail folder or All Mail and other folders. Thousands of them. It creeps along pausing occasionally, freezing my mail app, and can't do anything until it does whatever, then continues for a minute or two normally before freezing up again. It's possible most of the time to do something while it's downloading-- it halts then catches up and halts again in only a few seconds. Almost impossible to compose a message or read messages while it's downloading. Sometimes, if you click on something when it halts, it says "Thunderbird not responding" turns faded and crashes or have to go into task manager and end the process to get out of it. Right now, my mail is downloading with a total Important Mail quantity of (it reports now) 5787 messages. That quantity changes each time. I've left the mailer open just sitting there hoping it might finish whatever it needs to do, and then I can go about business without the freezing. But then it starts downloading mail again. Now it's switched over and doing it in All Mail-- 20,000 of those, and flipping between Sent Mail and then back to Important... The only workaround I've found is when it starts that activity, close the mailer and reopen it and then I have at least a few minutes to read or compose mail before it starts up and bollixes activity, and I have to close down and reopen to continue. I can find NO setting to adjust or turn this "feature" off. I have to go use the actual Gmail in a browser, which I hate, to get anything done. I've used Thunderbird since it first came out, even back to when it was Netscape mail before going independent as Mozilla and prefer to use it but can't with this downloading madness.

My Firefox browser is updated to the most recent version. I've previously used ProtonVPN and I've never had any problems. As soon as I updated Firefox, however; there are connectivity issues and pages won't load. I've tested with other web browsers and are able to load pages there while they simultaneously won't load in Firefox. I've tried deleting ProtonVPN and re-installing, but that didn't work either. I reached out to Proton about this and they are looking into it from their end to see if there is a solution, but I'm pretty confident it has something to do with Firefox as other browsers are working as they should be.
