T-Bird one Yahoo of six accts, repetitive “ENTER CREDENTIALS” My T-bird release: 144.0.1 (64-bit) Desktop: WIN 11 Pro – with all updates

For the last few days, I have not been able to obtain emails on my desktop T-Bird for one of my six Yahoo accounts. And, I cannot send any emails from the account

BUT, I can access the target Yahoo email account via my desktop Firefox, via Android T-Bird and via Android/Firefox. And all incoming and outgoing emails are present. Stymied, I changed the Yahoo acct password. After the change, these three work domains perfectly as before. And again, all incoming and outgoing emails are present.

BUT, the repetitive error with my desktop T-Bird for the one Yahoo account persists. The POP-UP provides a long string in the URL window and the only text shows: “Edge: Too Many Requests” >>>>>>>> I’m not using EDGE [Yahoo must use EDGE for the login error POP-UP] The window in the bottom Task Bar displays: “Enter credentials” [repetitively – ad nauseum].

For clarity all six accounts work without encountering "Enter credentials" on the desktop via Firefox, my android via T-Bird app, my android via Firefox. Five of the six work on my desktop T-bird.

I did not add any extensions in the last week. I did disable all extensions (and restarted) with no change in behavior. I put a 25 cent piece on the keyboard to appease the computer gods – no change.

Yup: cleared cache and cookies. Deleted password from desktop T-Bird repository, but the new one is not recorded. Changed authentication from OAuth2 to Normal and back again- no change

Yes, I waited multiple hours to try again, with no luck.

Hey Forum, 2 problems.

1. 1. - I have been having some problems w/my paypal account. Someone has been trying to hack into it. Twice in two weeks. I talked to a paypal tech and was told that they are accessing my emails. And she advised changing my email password. I have use Tbird for several years and don't remember having a password. But if I do, where is it, and how do I change it?
2. 2 - For awhile now I have been getting an error message when trying to send an email. (I can recieve, but not send). it says: "Enter your password for ***********@suddenlink.net on smtpsuddenlink.net" Where would I find such a password and where is smtpsuddenlink.net? Also could the above problem be related to this one? They started about the same time.

hi today thunderbird started showing yahoo popup login and after adding credentials i always get "something went wrong.We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device." Also popup once closed it opens instantly.

i can sign in normally from browser. thunderbird version is 147

is there any fix about this?

my password. I did it and now I have to update my various programs and apps to the new password to access my emails, but the Thunderbird mail program that runs on my smartphone (Redmi Note 13) doesn't allow me to change my password. It almost seems like I have to delete the account and add it again from scratch. Is it absolutely necessary or is there an alternative system?

Until yesterday, I had no issues accessing my Yahoo account. However, all of a sudden, the Yahoo login popup has started appearing.

After entering the password, I get the error: "Something went wrong. We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device."

I checked and tried following:

• The authentication method is set to OAuth2.
• Cookies are enabled in settings
• Tried Yahoo account password and app one time password
• Deleted account in Thunderbird and created from scratch. The same login popup appears but fails the same.
• Deleted all cookies from yahoo in the "Show cookies" dialog in the setting.

Any help is appreciated.

Every time I try to access my email account I get a message that the "email account failed" and asks for my password (and sometimes new password). But when I enter the password I keep getting the same error message!

While trying to retrieve new messages for one of my email accounts, I keep getting the message "Login to server xxx.xxx.xxx with username xxx@xxx.xxx failed."

I click the "Enter New Password" button and enter the same password that I use to successfully login to the account on a browser, and it STILL fails and keeps showing the same message box.

This started happening this morning. Have others reported this problem? What do I need to check to see if there is a problem in either Thunderbird or in my email account settings?

I need to enter a firefox primary password. I cannot enter an existing primary password. A reset is required. How can I change the firefox primary password? I need help resetting.

Bonjour à tous et toutes, Je ne dois pas être le seul à demander ou redemander, cette question auquelle je ne trouve pas une seule solution éventuellement proposée, qui règle le souci Explication J'ai donc thunderbird avec 5 comptes de mails d'opérateurs différents dont, l'emmerdeur FREE En effet, en plus du logiciel, j'ai un vpn sur mon pc et mon mobile pour le travail et autres Si par malheur j'interroge mon mail free avec mon vpn actif soit sur pc ou sur le mobile, tout se passe correctement mais trés rapidement dans la nuit cet emmerdeur de free bloque mon mail, annule le mot de passe car il a détecté le MAL !!! et bloque toutAlors les ennuis commencent avec thunderbird Je m'arrache les cheveux, car à peine déclencher evidemment il interroge free et là !! bim !!! refusé ! et c'est le caca !! la fenêtre de connexion pour free, n'arrête pas de revenir bloquant tout, tout !! tant qu'il n'aura pas un bon m d passe ! et je ne veux pas supprimer le compte mail pour débloquer, car cela fou la merde avec tous mes dossiers de mails free enregistrés dans thunderbird , et c'est pénible de tout remettre et relancer et reconfigurer comme on le souhaite Je voudrais savoir pour les ingénieurs et leurs grandes antennes de thunderbird, ne font rien pour ce souci a priori réccurent et connu On m'a dit de décocher des cases pour essayer de "sauter" free mais aucune solution ne fonctionne C'est une vraie plaie à l'appréciation de ce logiciel. I transferred Win 7 Thunderbird Profile (TB)to a Windows machine. It left behind all the other settings, such as when picking up/sending email, passwords are required at the IP to login, get email/send email.

QUESTION: Is there another TB area where the passwords are stored so I can copy those over to the new computer.

I posted this about a week ago, and when I come back, it's gone. That's why I am repeating myself.

A long timer ago, I was told by a user that Thunderbird does not need passwords. It does if you what to get your email. They are setting for each email user. There are 34 under the one TB.

I hope there is a transferable file because changing all the passwords and preference for each account would be the hard way.

I just installed Thunderbird and wanted to use it for my old gmail and my current icloud emails, however, while the gmail one logs in fine, each time I try to log in with my icloud email with the correct password it says "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration username or password.". Am I doing something wrong?

This morning, I repeatedly received an "Authentication failed when connecting to outlook.office365.com" error. I removed the Outlook account from Thunderbird hoping to solve this by reconnecting and starting from scratch. Upon entering my email and password, my configuration is successfully located in the Mozilla database, but upon selecting the IMAP configuration and after a brief password check, I received the error message "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password". Is this an issue on Outlook's end, or is something not set up properly?

My Hotmail account suddenly stopped working today (was working yesterday). Thunderbird shows a popup saying authentication failed, but doesn't ask me to try a different password (not that I changed it recently).

The error details are only visible in Error Console:

Got an error name=oAuth2Error, the server said: Authentication failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Hello. I have a yahoo email address, but I receive all my emails on Thunderbird. When I set the Thunderbird account up all my settings were put in automatically by Thunderbird and everything worked fine. Since then, I have logged into my Yahoo account online and changed the password.....for security reasons. My Thunderbird account no longer works as it cannot retrieve my emails from Yahoo, and I cannot find how to change things in my Thunderbird account. Any ideas?

Seems like every time I come here, not only do I have to re-login, but also do the 2-step verification. Is there any way to avoid all this?

I understand the need for security precautions, but my circumstances don't require 2-step verification or the re-login.

Leider kann ich mich nach mehrmaligen Versuchen bei Thunderbird nicht anmelden da es mir immer wieder eine Fehlermeldung anzeigt, dass meine Daten nicht korrekt seien ( sie sind korrekt und konnte mich auch schon auf einer anderen Plattform anmelden). Was kann Ich noch tun um mich anzumelden.

I cannot seem to sign in or submit my password. I usually get around 15 emails of a Sunday morning from my family in another state. I cannot seem to receive emails and thus not be able to reply. Please may I have some assistance. I am in my late seventies and very self taught. Of course as a result when anything goes wrong, I am not sure how to get through this.
