When my emails load the date shows as mm/dd/yyyy as this is not a format i use how do i change it to dd/mm/yyyy ? I had to reinstall Thunderbird and the date problem has just started from the reinstall.

A few months ago my ability to use different fonts, colors and sizes suddenly disappeared. These choices were always available when looking at my email and I used them regularly . No one I asked ever heard of such a thing happening. I left it alone until I found someone to help. Then, a few days ago, when I clicked "write" , two things happened. First, I could not forward, reply or even see my collected email addresses. Second, there was no longer a place that said "send". My email page filled the entire screen and when I scaled it down, there was still no way to see my list or to send. I am a novice when it comes to fixes and terms but, I have asked people who have some experience with PC's they were stumped. I contacted Fairpoint and they said it must be a Thunderbird problem. Most of the people I asked said they didn't know Thunderbird. One suggested that I reinstall T.bird but, said I also might lose everything on my PC. I would appreciate any help you can give. I am trying to restore some old email messages that I need to look at which were backed up using Tools/ Import/ExportTools /Options /Backup Scheduling. How do I do this as there is no restore function on any menu ? I can see my backup files in a Mailbackup folder.

When I receive mails with an annex , such as .pps , I don't see where I can find this .pps Is there something that is'not correct ?

A new email account was created in Thunderbird to connect to a email account on Apple's iCloud The incoming and outgoing server names were obtained from Apple and Thunderbird could verify the servers but returns with the error incorrect user name or password when completing the email account. . Apple says this is a Thunderbird problem. Any suggestions on changing the setup to get it to work with the iCloud email account. This email account is functional with a iphone 5

When I find a person's address in the address book and highlight their name in one pane, in the lower pane their info shows up. Unfortunately, highlighting the information I want is disabled. So, I open their info in the edit window, and then click on the appropriate tab.

Getting a single piece of information is not so inconvenient, but when you're putting together lists it is rather onerous to do it that way.

Being able to highlight and copy off the address book panes would be cool. Thanks

I would like to get notified, if a chat-message arrives. I tried two add-ons, both will play a sound, but not show a notification-window, as promised, so I'd like to do it myself, using `notify-send`. I suppose, that'll take to listen to a fitting event and execute notify-send, can someone please give me a hint, how to do that? Docs are rare.

FAQs about sending an email to multiple recipients seem to talk about using names already in one's address book to create a group. I have a text file that contains about 1000 addresses and want to send a one-time message to all of them (with each designed as BCC). How can I move those addresses all together -- or a big batch at a time in several messages -- without involving my address book?

In order to switch from one profile to another I must close one and re-open thunderbird for the other profile. Is there a way to switch from one to the other without closing thunderbird?

This has been happening for several years now. After one of the updates, I started getting the duplicates. I've lived with problem for a long time because I could still get e-mails, if over abundantly. My e-mail volume has gone up and up, however, and I'm now getting 60 or 70 e-mails a day because of this problem. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

I know this problem was previously answered in 2012, but I do not use cccleaner, so there must be another source to the problem. It has only appeared in the last wek or so. TB is not currently running and session.json file is still available in my mail folder. I have restarted TB in this Windows 7 session and the file's current contents are:

My original disk lost its XP Pro, so I got a new PC. I can still access most files on my old disk, as it is now attached via an external enclosure, but I cannot find how to get access to my old Thunderbird inbox. "File Transfer Wizard" is missing, and MS Search is broken and won't start. T'Bird works fine on the new disk/PC, but I need to look up some correspondence on the old disk. Is there some file I can point T'Bird to, that will contain my old emails ? Can I somehow merge the old and current files so I can search on a subject or person ?

I have a new computer and after getting it up and running I've found that my incoming emails from friends that often send part of their mail highlighted in colors now appear to me only in black. I have color enabled in settings. They have said things like, "this sentence is in red" and it only appears black to me. A solution that works would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the opportunity to ask.
