I keep accidentally muting my tabs when all I want is to click on them to switch to them.

I don't want the option to mute the tabs at all. I just simply want to switch to the tab when I click on it.

How do I do that?

My version is 89.0

After 89.0.1 update on Windows, Firefox will not release the audio device, not allowing the computer to sleep.

Since the 89.0.1 update on Windows 10 21H1 (Build 19043.1055), Firefox will not let my PC sleep, unless I quit and re-open Firefox. There is no audio playing on any tabs, but after a while of using Firefox on YouTube or whatnot, it will not release the audio device to let Windows put my monitors to sleep even though all playback has ended.

This can clearly be seen by running "powercfg /requests" as an administrator.

With videos playing, as expected Firefox reserves the audio device, as well as an Execution request.

Output: [ PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe display request

SYSTEM: [DRIVER] High Definition Audio Device (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_10438581&REV_1000\4&2d156fef&0&0001) An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE: None.

EXECUTION: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe non-display request

PERFBOOST: None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: None. ]

But after you stop playing the video the output becomes: [ PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe display request

SYSTEM: [DRIVER] High Definition Audio Device (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_10438581&REV_1000\4&2d156fef&0&0001) An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE: None.

EXECUTION: None.

PERFBOOST: None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: None. ]

You can see the audio device doesn't get released, and the only resolution is to quit and restart Firefox.

This doesn't always happen, but does happen after a while.

In Firefox, I select DuckDuckGo as default Browser. I type the word "news" and in the address bar it automatically adds google which I don't want. Even when I type in the Firefox address bar, the address always converts to news.google.com. I have to manually select DuckDuckGo as the news browser. How do I stop Goggle from redirecting my search to its news address?

When hit shift and click somewhere in the webpage or type something, the "Page Inpector" keep poping out (see attached screenshot), this is so annoying that I basically cannot type any capital letters. I have tried the option "Refresh Firefox", the browser seems to be set to default mode, but the issue still exsist. Tried for a new keyboard, the same. I searched the forum, but unfortunately cannot find a proper solution. Hope anyone can help me with this, otherwise I have to consider to change my default browser (which I really don't want to because of such a simple but annoying problem).

Thanks a lot for anyone could provide any suggestions !

I updated Firefox yesterday and since then everything in Firefox is blurry, except for some drop down menu's for some reason. Everything else is... I use two 4k 60hz monitors. On both of these they are blurry. It also seems like everything moves up and down a pixel when giving input (like keyboard or mouse inputs). I added an image of the blurriness. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Note: This is the only software experiencing this problem.

Best regards

My situation is probably unique but basically, I have a new computer. On my old computer I had a fair few windows open. Because of a lot of different issues (bad battery, no working charger etc.), I have access to the hard drive of my old computer but I can't turn it on anymore and it died before I could reopen most of the windows on my new computer. I'm able to use the hard drive as an external hard drive to transfer everything to the new computer as needed So, I know it's possible to get back bookmarks by transferring the files. I also know that there is a recovery file somewhere in the firefox folder which is used when hitting "Restore previous session" to get back the previous windows Would that mean it's possible to find the file from the old computer's hard drive and move it to the same folder on the new computer to use for the restore function in a similar was as the bookmarks?

Spontaneously, Firefox is now unable to load certain websites properly: Twitter won't show tweets, streaming websites won't play, and sites like Wikipedia have lost their formatting. Other websites seem completely unaffected, like YouTube, Pinterest, and news sites. This is only happening on Firefox, as my other browsers are unaffected, but Firefox is my default and I don't want to have to switch.

I've tried restarting both the browser and my PC, clearing the cache, turning off my firewall and anti-virus, disabled add-ons, and unregistered service worker... I'm out of ideas.

I've included some images to show what I mean.

I'm currently in my vacation home and I don't have home internet here. I'm connecting through my mobile phone using limited mobile data. and I selected not to download updates because it keeps updating itself like twice in a week and every MB counts in limited data plans especially if it's just 4 GB total for each month.

But now every time I open the firefox it showing download latest update popup like an annoying virus on the top right corner where 3 horizontal lines are located.

I checked the internet and previously this was an option in it's settings. Then this option removed and only hidden behind the about:config . and now it's completely removed from about:config either.

The only reason I switched from chrome to firefox was because google became an absolute dictator lately and all it's changes was to limit down my accessibility. I switched to firefox becuse it doesn't backstab it's users and they give the choice to it's users rather than dictating it like dictators. So did I make a mistake switching to firefox? Is firefox becoming just like chrome now? or is there (hoping so much) and option given us to turn off the notifications as well?

My Thunderbird e-mail will not open at all! When I double click the icon to open it, I just get a dialog box saying "Sorry, Thunderbird has crashed and is unable to open." (or something similar). It then offers a box to check to send an error report to Mozilla support (which I thought wasn't supporting Thunderbird any more...?) Then there is a choice to restart or quit Thunderbird.

I have done this multiple times. I have also shut down my browser and rebooted. Nothing has helped, I still get the same dialog box but have not received any response. I have to log into Xfinity on the web to see my emails -(I have a "comcast.net" address).

I just got back from vacation on 7/29/21 when this started happening. Thunderbird worked fine before I left on 7/12/21. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the new version 78 which I understand is being released some time soon to existing users.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Your help is greatly appreciated!! P.S. I am not well-versed in computer technology. Thank you!!

This is same bullshit when we were required to switch to Windows 8.... As a customer show I not have the choice??? Why is Version 68 not available????? They give you this directory page..... how does this get installed???

This is my second attempt to get some help with this ongoing issue;

I have uninstalled and re-downloaded through 3 versions now without a resolution. Both complete uninstalls without saving preferences. I have tried a FF restart as well.

The only add on I load is the Download Them All, but it happens even before I add that.

I always put the tabs on bottom by changing the true to false on tabs on top.

I have also tried using www.advanceduninstaller.com "Clean Your System Registry" with no luck.
