Machine: i5-6400T, 12 GB ram, SSD, Windows 10 64b Firefox 64bit.

So, what I am having problem with is the on this particular website the browser starts eating up memory all the way up, until all RAM is used up and then browser starts freezing.

https://fakty.tvn24.pl/ogladaj-online,60

It is a Polish news website. There are several commercials, some background ones. Click to watch the material and after several minutes Firefox uses 8.5 GB RAM.

I cannot figure out why it is happening, so I thought I would ask you guys for help. Maybe you got some tools to look deep what is causing it. It is annoying at about half way through the news starts freezing up and buffers slowly. It is enough to close this one tab and it drops like 10 GB ram.

I stupidly did a Refresh on Windows 8.1 when having trouble with Clean Up disk not working. I know that i need to find the hidden files from other questions on here, and have checked the box for this, but how do i actually access these files, to get them back onto my Desktop. have lost Firefox history and bookmarks,my Avast Security, etc etc. I believe that i can retrieve them, is this right? I am not terribly computer literate but can follow instructions if they are kept simple. many thanks anyone.

I am using the latest version 53.0 of Firefox. I even UNINSTALLED FIREFOX and Re-Installed a brand new Firefox 53.0 , and have the same page freeze / hangup problem !!!

Never had a problem with Firefox for years now -- but as of the last 3 weeks, it keeps hanging up on random occasions , freezes a web page or site. I have to use Task manager (and there I see listed "FIREFOX NOT RESPONDING" ) to click on "END TASK" so as to be able to get out of the frozen page. I thus will loose certain things when Firefox returns. ie; usually the texts in composing a message board message, or composing an email

I have used FIREFOX SAFE MODE and it still freezes up.

When I run a Firefox TEST Mode thruout, I comes up with "Incompatibility Issue" but shows at right side of page a green check mark with word '"FIXED" - But it is NEVER fixed !!!

ALSO, I keep checking in SECURITY SECTION the box for REMEMBER LOGINS FOR SITES -- but every time I leave Firefox, or it closes, or it freezes up --- I have to go back and check that box or my logins do not shop up !

I have almost no extensions (other than Trend Mirco Anti Virus which never gave me problems with Firefox) and no plugins.

So I have tried many things that the support " stock" Q&A material suggests --- but still no fix.

I have seen on line that many people are having this problem. And can't seem to fix it either !

Here BELOW is a copy-paste of the "see the data" tech information for my system - if it may be of use;

HOPEFULLY some one can figure what is going on. Note; My MSN Tech Support does not troubleshoot Firefox, only Windows and Internet Explorer & MSN issues.

Thank you for any support and help, ideas, etc.

It's been a while now since I randomly started getting the above problem. I've tried the solutions described here: https://cheapsslsecurity.com/blog/troubleshoot-secure-connection-failed-error-firefox/ I've stopped the Kaspersky Internet Security, I've installed and re-installed Firefox, I've tried editing/deleting the damn security ceritficates, mothing worked. And nothing of Firefox's help pages... helped either.

I'm using the latest Firefox, latest KIS version, all the drivers are up-to-date, system (Win 7 64-bit) runs perfectly with no error whatsoever, same for the Inetrnet connection. At this point I'm just about ready to flush Firefox down the drain because of this frustrating problem. It will probably go away after restarting the system, but I don't want to do this at Firefox's notice whenever it feels like it. I just want it to go away period.

Since it looks like it's impossible to attach a simple .jpeg to this message (file keeps loading forever), here's the full text of the error: "Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.google.com. You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number. Error code: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

Side note: very funny having to confirm this question by checking my gmail address... which I can't access because of the reasons stated above.

Have spent HRS searching your site and others for help!!! Trying to import contacts from WIndows Live Mail. All instructions I've tried to follow are WRONG INFO!!! It's disappointing that TB can't import contacts DIRECTLY from WLM's contact.edb file, but I've gone into WLM and exported the contacts into VCF form as recommended by TB. However, the directions then say to go to Thunderbird Address Book and go to Tools > MoreFunctionsForAddressBook > Actions for Contacts > Import vCard / VCF. NO SUCH OPTION EXISTS!!!! I've downloaded the latest version of TB, and under tools there is ONLY Address Book, IMPORT, EXPORT and OPTIONS. I've gone to import, and walked thru the steps, choosing to import VCF, then chose the folder location, but it opens the location folder showing ALL INDIVIDUAL CONTACTS, and there is NO WAY TO CHOOSE ALL, I can only click on ONE AT A TIME!!! ???? However, even when doing that, it places that contact in the address book list AS A NEW LIST/ADDRESS BOOK!!! There is NO WAY to force that vcf file to into the default existing "ADDRESS BOOK" there, I have gone in circles a hundred times, trying different things, but same result everytime. Then everytime I search for help on this issue, I come across different directions. SOME places say TB cannot directly import MESSAGES from WLM either, and those must be exported (DUMB in the case of a computer that is unable to boot and/or open WLM). Other places say TB CAN INDEED import messages directly from WLM's storage folders!!! Some places said press CTRL-A to select all vcf files in the export folder - NOPE!!! Still doesn't work. HOW DO I IMPORT CONTACTS???????

I found in FF troubleshooting, that the following 3 files were missing in my "about:config": browser.download.dir browser.download.downloadDir browser.download.lastDir My question is how can I enter them properly? Hoping that's the cause for this issue.

On Mac and PC using various versions of FireFox (including 29.0.1 on Win 7) the following occurs:

"Save Page As" a page with several iFrames in the content. I use "Web page, complete" and name the file.

Close FireFox. The .html file and accompanying folder are saved correctly. Then I open the file in FireFox and make some changes to fields in a form. Then "Save Page As" again and use the same name. It prompts to overwrite the existing file and I click Yes.

Three out of four times the file is no longer there. The folder remains but the .html file is gone. Not in the trash or hidden, just gone.

I know this sounds crazy but I have tested it on about 20 computers (both mac and various windows versions), all with different FF versions and different antivirus. The above scenario happens: always on 1 computer, occasionally (random) on 3, and hasn't been observed yet on the others.

Has anyone encountered this before? Are there any antivirus or malware products that could cause this? Any settings in FF that could? Any thing about this page or frames that could cause it?

WOW long time Mozilla Firefox user, but new update just keeps getting better and better ( NOT!) It took away my icons bookmarks etc, and started giving me forbidden access errors for websites and would not let me open sponsor links in Amazon, and would not let me re- download updated yahoo tool bar, and I could go on and on, but the point is: this was NOT beta version, its the real deal and all it is ends up being more trouble than its worth! WHY oh WHY must Mozilla update and yet make it all worse for it's users? I spent hours trying to find work arounds, etc, and finally have been forced to go back uninstall it and install the Mozilla 35 version that might not be perfect, but it works and so does all my stuff work in it. The other thing, I do the syncing, but that does not help get anything back and I do the mozbackup ( software program) but it would not fix the issues Mozilla firefox 36 has.

So I guess like many others, I will have to wait around till its been out awhile and see if same issues, then go back to 35 if all else fails. This is why I stayed so long on FF 17 or 19 anything to keep from updating, but I know I know, its about security blahblah blah... so i finally break down and update, but always always always to my dismay it takes me hours to get things back or get them right or lose them altogether frankly I wish there would be no final update until testing is really done, i know you can't help what add on's etc we have as there are so many, but beyond those crashes or not working add on situations, there are problems with this update ( and so many of them) so can you please fix them before you put this stuff out there for us to use???

So, I've been having this issue for sometime now. I went through all the help pages, read through all the different ones on Mozilla support and Adobe's official forums, and I haven't been able to stop it from crashing.

It started around a month ago, and I've just been trying to deal with it, but it has gotten to a ridiculous level of hanging. It almost never crashes, but it hangs indefinitely making me have to end it in the process area of the Windows Task Manager. It hangs when I open a new tab, when I'm mid-video, when I just leave it for too long, and randomly whenever it feels like it. And each time it looks different.

I also have some of my most recent crashes here if they are helpful:

When I open a new window in firefox, the close, maximize, and minimize buttons are located in the top left corner, as usual. However, if I enter fullscreen mode on a video, and then exit, the buttons are not there. They are not simply invisible - clicking in their usual location has no effect.

Thanks, ReOsIr

Help. I have been trying to fix this by trying and reading everything you have - but none of it is working. Everything was working fine until day before yesterday. Everything is coming up in Plain Text (I think that is what it is. For instance: you just sent me a link to verify my account and when I clicked it for Firefox Mozilla...it moved me to page where only words came up.) Interestingly, I am working from a Windows 10 (11) system where I have used Firefox for years with no issue. AS WELL, I have an account on our system and so does my husband. When I go to his settings on his account Mozilla works perfect. I can google Pinterest and it comes up BUT NOT not when I go back to my account on our computer ...it goes to only text when I try to get to Pinterest, Mozilla or Goggle, etc. I have to use another Engine like Chrome or Edge to send this message. I have gone through everything from Firewalls to settings. I wonder why it works on same computer on my husbands account but not mine???

As well I have been getting this:

urldefense.proofpoint.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER And too:This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

I have read and gone through every step in regards and nothing is working. I literally have spent 8 hours on Saturday and 10 hours yesterday and 4 hours today on this..............I need help!!

Hi. Been having an issue with Firefox this last week (though it's happened before, just not to this extent) in that's it's being incredibly slow and moves at the pace of a snail. To give some examples, when I try type (like right now) there's a delay for the words to show up instead of popping up as I type. Another is the browser seems to freeze up for a couple seconds when I try and scroll up or down, before doing at an quick and uneven pace.

I'm uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox (reinserting my profile after doing so), disable all themes, plugins and add-ons, restarted Firefox in safe mode, and none of these have made a positive difference (in some cases it actually made it worse).

Any way of fixing this? I've been using Firefox for years now and I don't relish the idea of having to transition to another browser if hte problem could just be solved on its own.

In the last month( i think after updating to frfx 58) when I type to reply to email in my Gmail account in my browser ( firefox 58.0.2) I get to see the standard formatting of the text (blue, comic sans etc) but when I actually send it, the sent email has the format disappeared and is standard format instead (in black plain font for example). This also happens in my other Gmail accounts too. I tried in MS IntExplorer and there is not a problem (meaning it is NOT my GMAIL's account settings)

Any suggestion/help?
