I have used Firefox for ages now and love it. I have noticed in the last few months that some functions on some web sites are not able to be accessed. Such as submit, place an order, and the like. I have to use another browser. Is there any reason for this as I really don't like to use any other browser other than Firefox but it seems to be that I have to. Is there some way that I can get around this?

Recently, the Firefox browser stopped working. Specifically for me, Costco's website, and Aetna. I believe the issue could be that those websites require that the location is confirmed, but no pop is generated, thus causing the website to not work with Firefox. Please help me, as your browser is the best.

I have a System 76 laptop running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The LTS (Long Term Support) ended years ago with Firefox 66. All of that works fine still. My problem is: 1. The world is telling me to upgrade my browser. 2. Mozilla tells me "Note: If you use your Linux distribution's packaged version of Firefox, you will need to wait for an updated package to be released to its package repository. This article only applies if you installed Firefox manually (without using your distribution's package manager)." 3. There will never be an updated package because LTS has ended. 4. IS THERE A WAY TO MANUALLY INSTALL A NEWER BROWSER LIKE FIREFOX 123?

For months I was experiencing the problem of "Thunderbird not responding" occasionally. It was a short duration issue (a few seconds to a minute). I reinstalled Thunderbird several times without success. I read almost every comment available online about this problem and I tried many ideas and recommendations I found without success. Most recently the problem became so serious that it was not a nuisance any longer. It was nearly impossble to work waiting for minutes to open an email or to continue typing while preparing a message and being interrupted by the problem I am describing. I ran Thunderbird in safe mode and determined that none of the add-ons is causing the problem. I turned the firewall OFF and determined that firewall was not causing the problem. I then decided to run Thunderbird in Offline mode and found that the program works normally. Then while in Offline mode I decided to download more messages and the program asked me if I wanted to switch to the Online mode. I said yes. New emails were downloaded and without going back to the Offline mode I was able to work normally without any occurrence of the "Thunderbird not responding" problem. I have been using this workaround for several days now. I download a number of eamails. I try working in Online mode and I cannot do it. I switch to Offline and work fine. I switch back to Online mode and I don't see the problem any longer for the whole day. Do you have any idea as to the origin of my proble? I am running Thunderbird 115.10.2 64 bit on Windows 11. I had the problem originally using Lenovo T490s and more recenlt Lenovo X1 Yoga

Could you add a option of closing tab with <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>w</kbd> to the advanced preference?
Also, I realized that:
```browser.tabs.warnOnClose False``` Does this option activates warn when closing the tab? If your answer is yes, it is not working at all.
As of a few days ago whenever I start Firefox the window appears with the Bookmarks sidebar panel already opened. I click the "X" on the sidebar and it will close - until the next time I start Firefox. If I choose Menu->View->Sidebar->Bookmarks and uncheck it the panel will close - until the next time I start Firefox. No matter how the Bookmarks sidebar is closed, it will always reappear when Firefox is restarted. Even if I switch to some other sidebar, Bookmarks will replace it on startup.
I've searched about:config and found no setting which seems to control sidebar behavior on startup.
I assume this is the result of some recent update. Is there no longer a way to permanently disable the Bookmarks sidebar?
I'm stetting up a testing environment. It's a closed environment with no access to the Internet when it's in use.
The environment is launched from AWS and consists of an Ubuntu 18 desktop and a Ubuntu Server running Apache. The desktop is able to successfully load the website, but with a cert error that the certificate isn't trusted.
When the Ubuntu Desktop launches, it has a fresh install of Firefox, and therefore all the directories in the users home folder are not yet setup for Firefox, including the database where the root CAs are stored.
I'm am able to add the Root CA certificate into the Firefox cert database AFTER the machine fully boots and I run Firefox for the first time. I'm using the 'certutil' package to do this. After I load Firefox, then add the root CA certificate using certutil, I'm able to load the website without error.
I need to add this certificate to the database with the startup shell script for the machine.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Here's the commands I'm using:
export ffcerts=`ls /home/testuser/.mozilla/firefox/ | grep default-release` sudo certutil -A -n "testcert" -t "TC,," -i /home/testuser/certificates/testcertCA.pem -d sql:/home/testuser/.mozilla/firefox/$ffcerts
These commands work perfectly after Firefox is run for the first time. I've even tried adding 'Firefox' (with several different switches) into my startup script without success.
Thunderbird seems to have so many minor changes and alterations in the recent past, that basic usability is affected. Not a good thing.
Once before, a few years ago, Thunderbird got so out of control that I had to go to a different mail client. Are we back to that?
Video playback initially works, until suddenly it doesn't; no new videos will work, and videos that previously played in the same browsing session will stop working. Easy to reproduce on Reddit by browsing any video-heavy subreddit. Leaving a broken video in a tab seems to infect the rest of the browser across websites; if a broken video from site A is open in another tab, videos on site B won't play.
Sometimes quitting and restarting Firefox is enough to temporarily get video playback working again; sometimes I have to manually clear the browser cache; at least once I've had to reboot my phone.
Can I upgrade my Thunderbird 115.3.1 from 32 bit to 64 bit?
My Thunderbird has recently automatically updated to V115.3.1 but remains 32 bit. When I go to the Thunderbird download page there doesn't appear to be a choice of version.
