Too many functions have been lost. I have a more up to date laptop but I'm not going to update the OS on my main desktop computer because too many other software programs would need to be updated - such as video editing and Adobe programs - which work fine as they are. Sadly my browser in future will have to be Safari or Chrome, which work fine with the current OS.

Specifically does mozilla HAVE an email address to forward spam to? Abuse at or spoof at or something similar? I found a web form but with limitations on text area I cannot possibly include the entire, header included bit of junk.

Further, I run all my junk mail through spamcop and it came up with an abuse department of... c.exacttarget.com SO seriously doubting it came from Firefox OR mozilla.

However, my computer is still running a dated OS. (mountain lion.) So my version of all browsers is dated. I can't use safari anymore. Firefox is aweful, crashes daily! I send in reports and use my junk email to do it just in case someone actually answers. No one ever has... (not a great selling point for firefox. When I finally do upgrade I'll go back to safari.) And that's the one that got the so called "offer" from Firefox for something or other. That's why I'm here. Is this junk or not? And if this IS a phishing scam claiming to have come from firefox, I would hope they would want to know about it.

Please advise. I will hang onto this bit of spam until someone has a chance to post back. Thanks.

Every earth cam went black several weeks ago. Mind you I still use an old OS. (NO intention of upgrading it either.) So my version of firefox is 48.0.2 And I even tried with Safari though that one is so dated now I rarely use it.

I tried on two computers. One got the most recent update of flash just the other day, AND the most recent update of java. The other I rarely use and has not had those last two updates. BOTH stopped being able to view earthcam at about the same time.

I tried starting firefox in safe mode so all the adblockers and what not are off. Same issue. Even tried looking at earthcam on my cell phone and got the same black screen.

So could this be some problem with AT&T? I read that somewhere that once that person drove away from home it worked on their phone. I don't see how that would matter, if their carrier is ATT wouldn't their phone just use the nearest ATT tower? I haven't tried it yet but will soon.

One last thought, earthcam is flash based isn't it? What are they going to do when flash goes away for good by 2020?

Why do you think it's good to force me to upgrade my operating system so that I can have the upgraded firefox? I will lose the use of programs that are important to me and CANNOT be replaced! There is NO free alternative to MPEG Streamclip. CopyPaste is no longer available. I use these, and other perfectly functional programs on my dinosaur Mac OX 10.8.5. The upgrades do not provide me with discernable added value. As you can see, this is a rant.

I am considering uninstalling Firefox and never use it again. This is because there's an annoying feature with your browser that no other browser does. Your adress-bar keeps a record of every website I have ever visited with your browser and there is no tool to clean it with. You should ofcourse include the adress-bar history when cleaning Firefox history. You should include a tool for this in future versions of Firefox. If you don't then at least I will stop using it.

Yahoo suddenly the default search engine after downloading something stupid I can't even remember anymore and can't find. Removed Yahoo in Firefox Preferences, trashed the application (Yahoo Powered Search), and STILL it comes up as the default. Firefox 48.0.2/ Mac OS10.8.5. Changing search engine in Preferences didn't work. Removing it entirely hasn't worked. Trashing it and emptying trash hasn't worked. Restarting Firefox and also restarting the computer after making the changes hasn't worked. Is there anything a non-geek can do that works?

I don't think this settings are vital for a registration process so why does Firefox enforces them?

been on this for a while now, to be honest if this doesn't get me the solution im going to use another browser.

I don't have this issue with safari, I use a macbook.

when i try to close tabs, a pop up remains, they are either a fake apple support window, or a mackeeper equivalent, or other financial things. Occasionally when I click on a link, it ignores the link and opens a pop up in its place. These pop ups are like normal windows rather than extra windows that run over - i.e they replace either a tab i am closing or act in place of one. They are just annoying.

here is one of them>http://www.reimagemac.com/mac/?tracking=ReimageNetworkCon&banner=Roleta&adgroup=832297&ads_name=1022637&keyword=direct&context=v1_7937237_215037_36p_12AD2FB5E1895806231228951518_-1_4060467_v6ld_778_12AD2FB5E1895806227908775_m_ju_-5964032012024961844_832297____72_4d9f_ju_

I have checked add ons, as it seems like its something that i may of accidentally downloaded as part of a software download and maybe havent deleted etc, but no

I have definitely got my add blocker active and have downloaded an additional add on in response to the issue, to no avail

I did find a way of getting into another preferences part which listed various sites, i typed in something :preferences into the address bar, but am unable to go back in - if that is what it way anyway.

hopefully there is a resolution

I have been receiving conflicting information from Mozilla about this issue.

A week ago I received this notification: "Your Firefox is now out of date, but the latest version is not supported on your system." And told to upgrade my Mac system as soon as possible.

Fair enough. But on the same day I also received the information that this update/non-supported issue will not take effect till August 2016.

And now I'm getting constant messages telling me to update my Firefox to version 46.0.1.

So what is actually happening? Is it still okay to update Firefox until August, without changing my Mac?
