Hi, I've successfully downloaded and installed Firefox on my HP laptop with Windows 10 and now attempting to download and install the Thunderbird email client. On Thunderbird.net when I click the Download button, the Donation Page pops up (and I made a donation) then closed that window. I'm then on the Thank You page but there is no prompt to install, so just stuck on the Thank You page. Thunderbird is not appearing in my downloads file. Can you please help?

Ran your update today. Thunderbird has completely disappeared. The shortcuts no longer work. When doing a search in Explorer I find a Thunderbird folder in C:\Programs. There is no file named Thunderbird there and the three exe files either do noting or complain that something is missing.

I am now missing literally thousands of emails.

I have received two emails from Spark wanting me to switch my email to their program. I hope you can fix this screw up because if you do not I will switch my email to Spark and make my default browser Chrome. I do not support companies that do what you just did. Completely unacceptable.

Windows 10 Home No info on Thunderbird because you messed up and I can't run it.

Hi, Sorry to be a nuisance but I have tried all the suggestions to migrate T/bird complete and nothing works, I have been extremely careful that Thunderbird has been closed before making actions. It is a new and "empty" Win 11 25H2 machine.

The second Mozilla suggestion is impossible as my appdata/local folder has many files and is enormous, it does not seem to have a user name in the address either.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, or I will have to manually make a clone of Thunderbird with the email accounts and refer to the W10 machine for stored mail until these become too old to be of interest.

I use Thunderbird on two user IDs on the same Mac, which is running macOS 15.3.1.

I usually run Thunderbird updates on user 1, but this time I ran the it (to 128.7.0esr) on account 2, and I can no longer launch it on user 2. (Note: Neither user is an admin account.)

Steps: 1. On user 2, launch Thunderbird. 2. Get the dialog that there's an update to 128.7.0esr. 3. Click the Restart to update button. 4. Get the dialog that there's an update to 128.7.0esr. 5. Click the Restart to update button. 6. Get the dialog to enter admin ID and password for installing the Thunderbird helper. 7. Enter the admin ID and password and click OK. 8. Get a (surprise) dialog to authorize Thunderbird to discover my devices. 9. I choose to deny.

Expected result: Thunderbird relaunches, now with 128.7.0esr. Actual result: Get the dialog to enter admin ID and password for installing the Thunderbird helper.

10. Log off user 2 and log on to user 1. 11. Download 128.7.0esr from the Mozilla website. 12. Check the hash. 13. Install, choosing to replace the old Thunderbird in the shared Applications folder. 14. System Settings, About, System report, Applications 15. Verify the signature is signed by Mozilla 16. Launch Thunderbird

Expected and actual result: Thunderbird launches and I can use it normally.

17. Log out of user 1 and log into user 2. 18. Launch Thunderbird

Expected result: Thunderbird launches and I can use it normally. Actual result: Get the dialog to enter admin ID and password for installing the Thunderbird helper.

I'm guessing there's some manner of residual file that's preventing Thunderbird from launching on user 2. I've verified Thunderbird is in the system's Application folder and not in user 1's files.

How do I clear the pending install from user 2 so that Thunderbird will launch for user 2?

I've just downloaded TB to my new laptop and it has loaded version 128.6.0esr (64-bit) with About showing 3 extra notes:- Nebular icon, Thunderbird is up to date and 'You are currently on an esr update channel'. The layout looks way too much like Outlook for my liking so I checked my out laptop and About shows it to be 115.18.0 (32-bit) with Supernova icon, Thunderbird is up to date and the same 'You are currently on an esr update channel'. So, how do I get TB on the new laptop (currently showing 128.6.0esr (64 bit) to be, or at least have the same layout as, my old one showing 115.18.0 (32 bit) that I know and love? Thanks Chris

p.s. I can take screenshots of both layouts if necessary but if I can get to the same version first that might solve the issue.

Yesterday I set up my Laptop with a new Windows 11 system from scratch. Then I installed Thunderbird from the Microsoft store and tried to paste the copied repository to the Profile Folder in %APPDATA%/Thunderbird/Profiles (as described here). And was astonished - there was none. All the folders as described in the Thunderbird settings (e.g. Local Folder, Profile Folder etc) are still descibed within Thunderbird to be there - but werent. When I clicked on "Open Folder" in the "Troubleshooting Information" - Page - I got an error, that it is not there).

I had to delete Thunderbird and learned by that, it iis installed as an App - it cannot be removed as programs are removed.

So I am left with the question: How to migrate the repository of Thunderbird is installed as App from the Microsoft Store? Where are the data persisted?

I've noticed that I've got both the 32 bit (../Program Files (86)/..) and 64 bit versions (../Program Files/..) of Firefox installed on my pc. I didn't install both and both appear to be the current version. Is this normal behaviour? Only one instance appears in add/remove programs, but if I go to default apps, Firefox appears twice (presumably the 32 & 64 bit versions). If this is not normal, does anyone have a suggestion as to how to remove the 32 bit version without damaging the 64 bit one?

I am getting stopped, dead cold, every time I try to install Thunderbird mail on Linux Mint 22. I've attached a generic article that explains how Akamai's site security services bots are working to protect a site or sites that TB must access to complete it's installation task. In my case it's Comcast/Xfinity. Accordingly, TB installations will not complete and new users are locked out...some for months. The concensus of the devs that have been working on this critical issue is that there is nothing on a new TB user's side that in any way causes or contributes to the issue. I would very much appreciate any information you can provide about a speedy resolution in the works.

Note: The error notification screen "Access Denied" is the same message I get, but with Xfinity referenced.

Thanks. Wiley Oregon, USA
