I realize that if a file is served with mime type Content-Type: application/pgp-encrypted, then its extension is changed by Firefox on Android to ".pgp". Apparently, Firefox for Android likes to modify extensions based on mime type.

Can this behavior be disabled?

Just as the title goes. I've been using Mozilla Firefox on desktop since 2005. The best hands down browser ever. I started using Firefox on android back in 2019.

I still love the android version, but my only problem with it is tabs. They stay open constantly. In the desktop application you close out and all the tabs close. In the android version I swipe up and there still there next time I load in. I don't like this at all. Unless I quit out of Firefox from the submenu, the tabs will stay open indefinitely.

I was hoping Mozilla could add an option to auto close tabs in 6 hours or something like that. Or close out tabs when I swipe up in android.

I have moved about 20 friends and family to Firefox and it's always going to be Firefox from now on. You guys rock!

Ok, so first everyone needs to know I love Firefox, I have never donated a cent to Firefox. I think I have burned by FIREFOX MOZILLA HOW? I am not sure, because I am not an expert as all of you, but: I uninstalled Firefox because my iPad kept freezing and does not move on my iPad and all my four phones. While reinstalling Firefox, I see that one of their products called Monitor said my accounts have been compromised about 700+ instances. Then I proceed to find out how my accounts and private data was compromised? Well when I saw the list, you can imagine how long IT IS??? well, I was given a choice do it by paying $8+ a month/yearly and or manual; so what is the question how my addresses got compromised if I only use Firefox, Isn’t Firefox the self appointed SUPER GREAT BROWSER AND ADVOCATE FOR SECURITY AND INTERNET USER RIGHTS AND SO ON? Well again I am not an expert, but what I’m am so FXXXXXG burning stupidity it is that when I attempted to use the service, the FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS OF SECURITY your FUL NAME, YOUR DATE OF BIRTH, YOUR CITY AND STATE. Well, I am sorry today I lost flight on this browser, back to Safari, I guess. LIKE AN STUPID IDIOT I GAVE MY FULL NAME, MY DATE OF BIRTH, MY CITY, MY STATE TO FIREFOX/MOZILLA. NOW FIREFOX MOZILLA HAS ME BY MY BAXXS AND I FELT FOR IT. DO YOU WHY I HAVE NEVER GIVE A CENT TO FIREFOX, WITH ALL THE RESPECT ALL OF YOU DESERVE HIGH TECH, YES INCLUDING FIREFOX MOZILLA IS LIKE A POLITICIAN THAT BEGS FOR MONY AND SCREW YOU LATER. Hello. I am just trying Firefox out and like it EXCEPT the print icon does not show in the Menu so I can’t print or set it up. How do I get the Print icon in menu?

I wanted to disable the prefetching/preloaad pages and I found some entries on about:config that I had to change. Some of those are here on the official support site and some not, I found them on another forum.

Here's the list: network.prefetch-next (false)

network.dns.disablePrefetch (false)

network.dns.disablePrefetch.FromHTTPS (false)

network.http.speculative-parallel-limit (0)

browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled (false)

So, my questions are: 1. All these expect one "browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled" are available on android (nightly). Is there and i can't find it or it's indeed not available ??

2. Is the "network.http.speculative-parallel-limit" works only for http or it works and for https as well ?? Is there some setting to geti it to work for https if it doesn't ??

3. Is true that the "network.dns.disablePrefetch" and/or "network.dns.disablePrefetch.FromHTTPS" doesn't work (if i disable it) if i have turned on the dns over https ??

4. Are there other settings that I need to configurate or I'm good with these ??

Why firefox has not been able to add a very convenient feature of organising bookmarks in the bookmarks list, like dragging specific bookmarks up and down in order to gather similar bookmarks together, as per requirement? This bookmark managemwnt and organisation feature is a must in such a wonderful browser to make it even more convenient to use. Please add this feature.

I’m trying to install the add-on called carmelizer but it’s not working I have Firefox already on my iPad but it just keeps telling me to install Firefox. Can you please tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thanks

Typing about:config in the address bar does not bring up a list of configuration files. All it does is produce a google search list of YouTube and Mozilla help sites. How can I access Firefox configuration files so I can stop websites from refreshing?

None of the online instructions work. None. Why must it be impossible or so inhumanly difficult to simply disable the annoying and privacy-violating “Firefox suggestions” in the Firefox address bar on the iOS? When will you finally realize and accept that people should be able to use Firefox in social situations without having everyone around see one’s search history? Is this really difficult to understand? It seems that the knuckleheads at Mozilla product development lack even the most basic understanding of the concept of privacy. And yet Mozilla advertises its product with empty promises of privacy.

How to export passwords from Firefox Android in readable format like CSV for other password manager apps like KeePass XC or AuthPass? 

Currently as I'm seeing all Gecko-based browsers especially on mobile not just Firefox but also Mull, Fenix, Waterfox and Iceraven, lacks this.

Is this intentional or should I just keep Chrome as my browser because to jump to Firefox, I need basic things to be covered, which I don't see, Mozilla Firefox team doing on its own. 

Other browsers like Opera have proper in-built system of password manager.

When will Gecko-based Firefox Android increase the number of default search engines in 2025?

Currently it hosts only Big Tech namely Google and Microsoft Bing and DuckDuckGo, which is Bing and MSN results in DuckDuckGo and Qwant (same Bing results) latter which works only in the UK.

I'm using Gecko-based browsers like Fenix and Mull and Iceraven, and they all come with like 5 to 10 search engine options.

Adding new search engines is a mess and doesn't sync with Firefox account settings, so futile efforts.

Even Chrome allows us to select our search engine, if we are visiting it too much.

Is Firefox really privacy based browser or just Big Tech in Firefox like Google as default search engine out of the box, no asking which the XYZ user wants?

How to disable home button icon on URL bar in Firefox Android like Chrome allows in 2025?

It takes up too much space and URL is hidden and unreasonable. In Chrome, all is optional and customisable.

Is Firefox team updating it to current standards of 2024-25?
