After a re-start, my Firefox browser on a Dell laptop lost all history and has since also not been collecting websites visited. When opening a new tab, the shortcuts and recently visited websites are also gone and no longer being collected. My CCleaner recently updated itself to a new version but I unchecked the delete history for Firefox (which treacherously is clicked by default - I fell into that trap before). Happy to blame the new CCleaner but that would not explain why history is not being collected now - to me the fault seems to lie with Firefox instead. Another possibility that went through my mind: Is Microsoft sabotaging users of Windows 11 to force them to buy new? PS: Under "Privacy", "History", the setting is "Firefox will remember history", as it always has been and should be. But it has forgotten all previous history and it is no longer collecting any new history either!

firefox used to have good history now it's only 7 days? i need to see more than 7 days, all of it being available is ideal. what prompted this - although i've been irked by it before - is needing to know how i got to a website, what was the search and/or tab spelunking that got me there? it's really important to know this. relying solely on google search (if that'll yield part of the trail) seems contrary to firefox ethos.

Recently, after I manually delete selected pages on Firefox browser History, those pages keep coming back in History after I close and then reopen Firefox browser. I have not changed any settings. This just started a few days ago. I have always manually deleted History and/or selected pages and not had this problem before. Thanks for your assistance.

I use Firefox on my Mac. I visited a site yesterday that provided some who.is information. When I returned to the site today, the who.is information has been changed. I need to find the cached page from yesterday (if it still exists) to get the data BEFORE it was changed.

How can I do this?

I use the Menu Bar and discovered that when I select History and then right click one of the entries it no longer shows the small window which allows you to Open in a New Tab etc.

If I use the 3 bar option on the right hand side to Open application menu, then select History, then right click an entry, the small window I mentioned above opens as it used to when using the Menu Bar.

I have attached screenshots showing the issue when using the Menu Bar and also when I use the application menu on the right.

I have been using the Menu Bar option for years now so I can only assume that this issue has arisen after a previous update.

I am currently running Firefox 140.0.4 and this issue is there even when I disabled all themes & extensions and when I ran Troubleshoot Mode!

Hopefully a simple fix will resolve this.

Firefox keeps restoring deleted history on my cell phone.This option is not available to me in settings: To prevent Firefox from restoring deleted history after a closure or crash, disable the "Open previous windows and tabs" setting in Settings > General under the Startup section. Also, about:config does not work on my cell phone.

All of a sudden while using Firefox I am not able to access my history. I can normally click on the three horizontal bars at the top right, but that isn't working anymore.
