Hi there - I upgraded today to 78.4 (from 68) in order to allow multi factor authentication (and stay compatible w/ my work Office365 account). Everything seems to have gone fine except that when I open my address book, the only address books included are my de_junk_list and my LDAP. My personal Address Book (decades of addresses) is empty. I'd like to restore those missing addresses to my address book, but am unsure how to do so. Thank you for any advice!

Thunderbird will not download new email messages from server

I have a Windows 10 machine running Thunderbird 78.4.0 (32-bit). The end-user has a Comcast.net email address mapped and has been working well for several years now. Since Oct 19th they have reported that no new mail is arriving but they can send emails. I can log into the Xfinity website and see new mail. Thunderbird is not reporting issues with the protocol selection and looks to be connecting but not getting anything.

We have tried the following so far. 1.) Confirmed no outbound firewall. 2.) Turned off the Windows firewall. 3.) Confirmed no antivirus causing issues. 4.) Rebooted machine. 5.) Configured IMAP in place of POP. Both connect and neither shows new mail. 6.) Configured Microsoft email with matching settings - This works fine and downloads email without issue. 7.) Loaded Mailbird and configured email with same settings - This works fine and downloads email without issue. 8.) Confirmed no email filters are turned on in Thunderbird. 9.) Confirmed no "rules" are set up that would move email. 10.) Turned off all Add-Ons and booted into Safe Mode and still does not download email. 11.) Booted machine into safe mode with networking and issue still persists. 12.) We didn't try just throwing the account completely away in Thunderbird but we did create a matching one and it connected but didn't bring email down either. 13.) Confirmed no proxy settings. 14.) Tried their account in Thunderbird on another machine and it was able to download new emails.

Anyone has additional thoughts on what could be causing this. I tried to talk them into a new email client and they weren't having it since everyone uses it in the office.

this issue has been haunting me since the last three days, after our company just migrated to Microsoft Office, with all the email accounts associated. As Thunderbird user, being forced to switch to Outlook is something that I'm not willing to do, as far as I can manage to solve this issue.

I can receive email correctly from my IMAP account, but the problem is sending. I cannot find a way to configure office365 SMTP in a way that doesn't give me errors. Ports, security, password, all configured right, I even changed my account password to be sure, but it didn't solve the issue.

I'm using Thunderbird 78.4.0 (32 bit) on windows 10. Thank you in advance

I was cruising along loving Tbird again after a dip in the waters of Outlook. Then I upgraded from 68 to 78 and the entire address book was lost. I looked at the other folks who have had that problem and tried a solution or two but no success.

I really want to stay with TBird but Outlook still has my address book from before. I even tried to import that address book into Tbird but no success. I also tried to download the older version of Tbird but the address book is still gone.

When I click the Thunderbird icon in the Favorites navbar, I get two message boxes:

1. An error has occured. An error occured when writing to the calendar NextCloud! When this appeared for the first time, I read the details and marked the calendar as read only. Thunderbird would still launch and still complain with the same message. But now all of sudden, Thunderbird just quits after the message box is dismissed.

I've been having trouble receiving some of the email content coming from my protonmail account . Most messages come through just fine, but a small percentage (~5-10%) consistently appear to have an empty body when opened in TB. The headers always show up fine regardless.

Context:

  • Issue only occurs with my Protonmail account (4 other IMAP accounts all seem to work fine)
  • I am using IMAP and Protonmail's Bridge app
  • My computer is a MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7
  • I am using Thunderbird v68.12.1

Description of Problem Messages:

  • Body is blank when opened or previewed (doesn't matter if I open in a new window or tab or if I run TB in safe mode--they're still blank)
  • Headers always show up fine, regardless
  • Doesn't matter if I am viewing in Light, Dark, or system Default modes...

How Do I Know the Email Isn't Just Blank to Begin With?

  • If I access my email account directly through Protonmail's webmail the entire message body is always there.
  • I've figured out some tricks within TB to reveal the content too:
  • ...>Sometimes (but not always) by clicking 'reply' I can 'trick' TB into showing me the content quoted below my response
  • ...>I can extract the content from blank messages by using the 'Copy to Clipboard'>'Message' option from the Message menu in the program bar at the top of the TB window. I can then paste the contents into a TextEdit file to view and use. I've attached an annotated screenshot here to show what I am trying to describe. This workaround was a relatively recent discovery, but so far it has always worked when I've tried. (important note, maybe: this does not work if I use the typical Edit>Select All, Edit>Copy options from the Edit menu, nor does it work if I use the keyboard shortcuts either).

Two or three days ago, Firefox in android suddenly doesn't seem to respond to touch. I've tried restarting twice, uninstalled and reinstalled, tried nightly, and beta, removed plugins, but still sometimes I have to touch a button or input box multiple times to get it to respond (and sometimes it just never responds).

I've switched away from Chrome about two months ago, coming back to FF after years away -- I was really enjoying it, and am sad to have to return to Chrome. I hope this is something that can be fixed.

I've successfully used Send Later many times before. (Have used Thunderbird for years.) Now, when I compose a message and click on Send Later, the usual screen when one sets up the time, no longer opens. The message goes straight to Outbox that now is located under Local Folders. ( Very different than before.) I can see my message there, open it, and the timestamp is the time when I clicked on Send Later. Still no way to set up the time for sending.

I can see Send Unsent Messages under Files, but again, there is nothing to set up the desirable time for the sending option.

I'm afraid something got messed up in recent updates.

Please help. Thank you.

Ситуация: Браузер файрфокс упал и не хочет запускаться даже в безопасном режиме. Хотелось бы полностью восстановить предыдущую сессию без потерь.

Чистку, которую рекомендует делать поддержка в такой ситуации, я сделать не могу, так как потеряется много важной информации пользователя (а компьютер не мой, и если я все сотру, то будет очень некрасиво, не считая того, что я получу))) и там важные для меня открытые, но не сохраненные в закладки вкладки, которые выискивались на протяжении долгого периода и которые хотелось бы восстановить. Думаю, проблема могла возникнуть из-за открытия большого количества вкладок - около 20. (Хотя компьютер хоть и старый, но мощный и память в нем есть, в других браузера я открывала гораздо больше вкладок и запускала более мощные программы). Может, можно как-то залезть в саму сохраненную где-то сессию, убрать там ошибки и прописать, чтобы он восстановил нужные мне 10 вкладок, а не 20? Или еще как-то сделать, чтобы все обошлось без потерь (и с гарантией, что все точно не рухнет совсем)? помогите, пожалуйста.

Firefox on Pixel 3 phone a few days ago changed. Most times I try to open a page, turn a page on a website, or try to click on something, Firefox is unresponsive. I've reset phone many times, tried safe mode, uninstalled, reinstalled Firefox a few times but it's still unresponsive. When I switch to Chrome, everything works. But I'd rather be back on Firefox. I don't know what changed, but how can I get Firefox, that always worked, back to work right on my mobile phone? Firefox still works on my iMac, so problem only is with the Google phone.

I use yahoo mail and have already updated thunderbird to the new required settings. I have set both server settings and smtp to OAuth2 and cookies are enabled. However, I do not get notifications for emails landing in my subfolders (I have set yahoo filters), unless I check inside the subfolders. This happens for days and will only show when I look for myself. Before yahoo stopped supporting third-party applications, I used to get notified.

I also get the following message very often, but I don't know if it is related, but it was also not happening before the new yahoo server requirements. server imap.mai.yahoo.com has disconnected The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem

I just created a new mailbox in an email host and every time I try to send a message, save a draft, I get this message saying I have no space in disk for new messages. Meaning that my sent messages are not being saved which is a huge problem for me.

Since my disk is not full and I have 7Gb in my email host, what does this problem means and how can I solve it?
