Hi there,

I'm currently running macOS 10.15.6 and Firefox 80.0.1.

I've not been able to get the Home and End keys on my keyboard to jump to the beginning and end of the URL inside the address bar for a while now. I know on macOS I can hit command+left and command+right to achieve the same behaviour. But so many sites (not this one; but Google Docs, reddit, etc) support the Home and End key behaviours.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to report bugs / feature requests, but maybe the community knows how I can even mimic this behaviour with extensions.

Thanks for reading!

Hello Community

Do hope someone can help?

Have tried all suggestions in Support area on topic: Lost/Recover Bookmarks. Also spoke to Windows Support and was told to call Mozilla Firefox Technical Support. I've been unable to find a number.

I had a Windows update around the same time as a Firefox update, May/June, only realised all saved bookmarks prior to June 2020 have disappeared. This has never happened before.

Urgently need to find out if there's a method of retrievel or have it confirmed that all of these very important bookmarks are permanently lost.

Thank you in advance

I noticed there is something in the Firefox browser now named Lockwise which allows anyone using my computer to see all my passwords. This seems to be a major problem when it is supposed to be concerned with security. If my laptop is stolen they will have access to all my passwords now???? This does not look like a security feature to me. How do I get rid of or disable this function?

Thx

After using messenger with no problems for years, yesterday I tried to make calls (audio/video) in messenger and keep getting an error message that my "brower" doen't support them now. I have the latest verion of Firefox 78.02. Anyone else experiencing this?

It asks me to use either Firefox (which I obviously have, or chrome).

I switched to chrome and got the same error message when trying to make a call as well.

Thanks for any help.

With older versions of FF I used to create YT playlists of history videos and lay down to enjoy the audio. Can't do that any longer ! Randomly the "Allow Video and Audio" settings revert to "Don't Allow Video and Audio". And I have to roll out of the bed onto the bad knee to reset it -- several times an hour. It used to play all night without intervention.

A while ago on Westernjournal.com I clicked into a story and the autoplay audio almost blew me out of the chair -- though the settings were "Don't Allow Video and Audio". And the videos on that site now float and autoplay -- something FF just can't deal with through many releases. No combination of relevant about:config settings work -- I have tried them all. IF FF can't deal with all of this -- just lemme know ! I can handle it and look for a different browser. What I want to avoid most is running in circles again for hours trying to solve all this.

Then yesterday this started again and happens every time. Can access from Safari. The website I am attempting to access is in connection with my employer and I need to access it on at least a weekly basis. Other websites of my employer work fine. Please advise ehw

Suddenly Firefox is having problems with its rendering of Japanese/CJK fonts. The display of Chinese characters (i.e. kanji in this case) is off. Japanese-language sentences include regular Japanese kana but will only display Chinese font versions of kanji.

I took a screenshot of the Google toolbar as an example. As you can see, すべて is displayed normally. 画像 however, uses the Chinese version of 画. ニュース is fine and yet the 図 in 地図 is off. The other characters look fine, but I'm assuming they're the identitical in Chinese regardless.

This issue only happens on Firefox (not anywhere else on my computer), and has only started today. Furthermore, it is not limited to webpage content: characters also show up weirdly in the toolbar.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Hello All,

My browser does not seem to want to fill the screen on startup.

I do not want it to go into "full screen" mode, just to fill the whole screen so I do not have to drag the edges every time. The browser does not seem to remember that it was expanded to fill the whole screen when it closed down.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Screenshot attached.

Some sites are missing favicons making the toolbar useless if I have to use text to identify them. I quit using FF because of this about a year ago as all the solutions on here did not work. Seems as though FF could fix this internally as it is not a problem on Chrome, IE, Edge or any other browser I have used. Why can't FF fix what seems to be very simple problem? Came back and it is still a problem. Again all the listed fixes that I have to initiate, have not worked. Why can't FF fix this through an update. I am not the only one who has this issue and it is exclusively a FF problem. Not a computer expert but this seems to be a VERY easy fix via updates especially since it has been an issue for literally years. Don't want to go back to Chrome as I like all that FF stands for, but... Thanks for reading

I'd like it if Firefox would automatically convert webp images to jpg or png files instead of the opposite... stop trying to save png or jpg files as webp... and stop serving me webp images when it is optional. I understand there are websites that ONLY display webp format images, but I am also aware that jpg and png files exist on many of these websites as well. I do not want to disable the ability to display webp in the browser, but I want to turn off whatever option is currently turned on.

I'd like to go back to being able to right click, Save Image As > and end up saving a png or jpg. There have been several websites over the last few weeks that I have visited, and even if the image in the URL is named jpg or png, Firefox tries to save it as a webp. This is complicating my image saving process. I am using the Add-on named "Save webP as PNG or JPEG" which works, but slows down my saving process considerably. The Add-on does not remember the last folder I saved an image to, and adds several additional clicks to what used to be a simple process.

Is there a way in about:config to prevent Firefox from putting webp as the default file format in the Save Image As dialog box?

Suggesting that I use Internet Explorer or Edge is crazy. I'm not changing browsers.

You can demo this annoyance by trying to save this image, which is obviously supposed to be a jpg: https://media.entertainmentearth.com/assets/images/7c23e8c9a6014c57aa8f5d3e281b3834lg.jpg

Firefox allows me to set protection so that third party cookies are allowed in normal windows, but not in private windows. I think it makes more sense to have it the other way round. Generally I don't want third party cookies: most of them are trackers or do something else undesirable. However some sites won't work if third party cookies are disabled. If I open such a site in a private window, all cookies set by the site will be thrown away when the window is closed, so third party cookies won't be seen by any other site and are relatively harmless. Currently (78.1.0esr 64-bit) I can turn off enhanced tracking protection for such sites, but I have to do it every time I open a private window, and for each site I visit in that window. I would like to be able to make that the default for private windows.
