Yesterday I had to reinstall Firefox as it did not exist......completely gone.....so I did a new install

Now the issue is and has been is I load Firefox and sometimes I cannot even access anything from the address bar it just sits there.

Its kinda hit and miss I can click on a tab and sometimes my favs are there and its all good. Seems like its doing its own thing..........no no we dont want that :)

What are your suggestions?

I get this crash message every day on the same website. Some days I get it more than once. Today I have received it three times in the last hour. This is an important site. It is the website of the largest circulation newspaper in my state. I check it every single day for statewide news. Why cannot Mozilla fix this problem that has been ongoing for many months? Please stop telling me that you can help, and actually fix it.

When using Google (.com or .co.uk) as my search engine it takes a long time to load and display results. Chrome searches and displays results almost instantly. What is causing this slow down? Let me know if you need any more details.

I'm having a problem with bookmark sync! This is what happened... I installed Firefox and logged into my account, and then it synced my bookmarks without any problems. But then, I accidentally clicked on "Restore" and chose the option for the recently created backup that was empty and had no bookmarks. After that, the "empty" session was synced on my account. I did find a backup from many months back, but this one is missing a lot of the links that I need!

So here's what I wanted to ask: Is it possible to restore a previous sync session from a certain date to the current synced session?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me!

I only have this problem with safeway.com. Firefox will not save the username (email address) for my login there. It does save my password, but I always have to manually enter the username.

Recently I tried manually editing the saved passwords (under "Preferences") - the username was blank for the safeway.com entry, so I put it in. This had no effect and the username field still is not filled in for that site.

Does anyone else have this problem with the login page on Safeway.com? I am using Firefox 63.0.3 (64-bit) for Ubuntu, but this problem has been present for at least a couple of years.

Where are extension permissions set?

Bookmark tabs in TreeStyleTabs has error popup, it needs permission to create bookmarks.

The preferences search didn't help... Tree Style Tabs has container permission, nothing about bookmarks, no add button there... no link to anything... just nada.

I also have 'Bookmark Tree for Tree Style Tab' which also has no info about these permissions.

The solution is going to probably be... 1) Another settings page that wasn't included in the search? 2) Firefox updates broke the extension, so... wait?

I am having problems connecting to websites that originate from an email click. Which settings should I change to correct this? (ie, I have no proxies or firewalls set up). And, these connections work fine in other browsers, so I am sure it's just a security setting somewhere in Firefox.

Problems started since Firefox update broke Firefox Plugins. Even complete removal of Firefox and updating to Firefox 67.0.4 did not fix the problem. (see below).

UPDATE FIXED:

Installing plugin fix @ <https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/fixed-certificate-issue-causing-add-ons-to-be-disabled-or-fail-to-install/39047> fixed the problem even though installing latest version of Firefox did not.

I spent literally 20 hours on this problem and was very close to using Chrome as my default browser (Ugg).

When I left-click on the toolbar icon of extensions that use a drop down window, I briefly see the settings in that window and then window becomes an empty frame that stays until I click outside the frame. Extensions that open their own tab are fine.

Disabling all plugins an then enabling one at a time does not help. Behavior is the same with a different user.

This problem started in the past week. Somewhere in that time frame I did install a 32 bit version of Firefox.

I have 'Refreshed Firefox' Reinstalled Java Runtime. I have uninstalled Firefox, x64 & x32, deleted folders under "Program files" and "Program Files (x86)", removed Mozilla directories under AppData: Local, LocalLow, and Roaming, and reinstalled Firefox x64.....Still a problem

I would guess that I haven't cleared every Firefox setting out.

Any suggestions??

Every since the most recent Firefox update, Facebook Birthdays are missing from the column to the right of my Facebook Newsfeed. Birthdays do show up when I use a different browser, so it seems to be a browser issue. How to fix?

Hello, since I updated to Firefox 63.0.3, my extensions have constantly stopped working every time I restart Firefox, resulting in me having to delete my extensions files to reset the extensions registry. How can I stop my extensions registry getting corrupted?

Hi, can't seem to logon to Facebook with Firefox. I disabled each of my add-ons and restarted FF but still Facebook is not working. I can get Facebook on Chrome and Edge but I prefer FF as I use NoScript (which I usually have set to Temp Trusted for Facebook but I did set to Trusted and still no access). Several times, 3-4? when updating my iphone, I have ended up with lakador on the MacBook Pro that I use. Every time it appears to be from or through the App Store, which I have always assumed was trustworthy. Every time I've done it using the iphone as the internet source, the phone update was not successful, but I ended up with lakador on the computer. When I used the public library as an internet source, the update was successful, but I again ended up with the lakador virus. When I look at Firefox preferences, it would seem that I should be notified that an untrustworthy malware was associated with the download, but that didn't happen. Thanks

unfortunately, i closed my browser this afternoon, was greeted with the warning in my question, and when i reopened the browser, it did not relaunch my tabs as it is supposed to do (i did not have internet when i closed, but did when i reopened less than 1 min later). as an added bonus, that window was not in my recently closed windows nor in my user profile folder. this rather sucked for me as i had 500 ish tabs open, many needed as references for some research I'm currently in the midst of. on the bright side, my most recent update was a little over a week ago, and i had most of the tabs open at that time. i was able to restore them using the update session file in user profile folder and the following site https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html and then supplement the rest via my browsing history.

Here is where the question comes into play.

I've always had the restore previous window option checked, yet I still received the warning, and that IS the settings i would like. i want to be warned, and i want it to resume when i open. strangely enough, even though i got the warning when i closed and encountered the issue (along with every other instance in the past couple years), i cannot get my window to prompt me with the warning except under one condition. if i have more than one window open it will still ask, but this was rather anxiety inducing because i had just manually restored about 250 tabs.

i know i'll probably get a few responses saying i need to uncheck the restore previous window option at startup, but i do not accept that conclusion, through example I've had both function simultaneously, so i am asking for a solution that allows me to both receive the warning, and relaunch the tabs at startup. i know this is possible, and this is also evident from the fact that if i have multiple windows open, make sure they have at least 2 tabs, and attempt to close, i still get the warning.

i've checked about:config and made sure the warning was set to true, which it was. also, while my main intent is to get the warning dialogue fixed, i wouldn't mind getting an answer as to why my window was lost entirely to begin with. *edit* i did have a private window open when i attempted to relaunch the standard window, while my testing shows it won't relaunch the tabs ( which is both a new phenomenon and also in disregard for the settings of "restore previous session") it DOES keep this window under the recently closed windows.

When trying to add a site to the exception list firefox crashes as soon popup exception button clicked!

The browser simply freezes, no error message, its just stuck. Only way to recover, force close firefox.

The issue even occurs when Firefox freshly opened.
