After restarting my computer, I got a new FF web page and ALL my bookmarks as well as history have been deleted.

How do I get them ALL back?

I have tried every solution on the Mozilla Help section - I cant do a Restore I have a very old version of backups - 2016

The online help system is going around and around in circles not giving any solutions. 4 hours of trying to sort this out is ridculous.

I really do not want to have to move to Chrome, I far prefer Mozilla, but I can not afford to loose more time sorting this problem out. If not resolved here, I will reluctantly have to restart all my bookmarks in Chrome.

I need all my bookmarks - some are work related.

Please Help

After updating to 61.0 (64 bit) my Home Content options disappeared, leaving a blank page when opening new tabs. From research, I see there should be a Firefox Home Content section in about:preferences#home . Mine has no Firefox Home Content options listed, just options for New Windows and Tabs (see screenshot). I have tried disabling all addons and closing/reopening Firefox but it made no difference.

How do I get my Home Content options back?

I would like to be able to have web search in the home page (not the address bar) and my top sites pinnable there, like it was before the 61.0 update, instead of the blank home page I am now seeing when opening new tabs.

I recently removed the Stylish add-on from my browser. However I might have disabled it some time ago (I can't exactly recall) and I couldn't tell at the moment because I had just got the newest update.

Is there any file I can open to see a record/timeline or allow me to see what add-ons I disabled and when? Or anything else I could use?

Thanks.

Three tabs keep opening although closed in previous sessions. That happens whichever method I use to have tabs open from the previous session, i.e. making the preference to open tabs from previous session OR to set the preference to a single tab and set the browser in about:config to give me the option to save tabs. The tabs are NOT in history.

The urls of the tabs are as follows : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/%40import https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/url https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/url

Is there a solution to this problem?

I am regularly suffering from this issue where Quantum grinds to a halt and crashes after a few minutes (5 to 10 mins).

Whilst viewing the Processes tab in Windows Task Manager I have found that I have 7 entries of firefox.exe whilst having 9 tabs open in the browser.

As an example, whilst viewing ebay, carrying out a search and then looking at further pages, clicking back a page and then looking at another entry I find that the CPU increases from 2 or 3% to 50%, but the memory changes from 115,000k to over 3,000,000k. Only 1 tab shows the increased usage all the other remain relatively static. However I have opened Firefox with just one tab and had exactly the same issue.

Even as I write this question the memory has gone up to 3,150,256k and I am waiting to type further text but the memory has gone again. After 4 minutes of doing nothing it has has it dropped back to 150,552k and hopefully I will be able to finish this question before it crashes again.

I occassionally have a small Excel file open as well, but once Firefox starts using up the memory Excel crashes as the computer tries to close programs to give more memory to Firefox.

If I leave Firefox open, but not use it for about 20 minutes it seems to give back the memory, but within 5 minutes of using it again it is back up to 3,000,000k or above.

I used to be able to use Firefox whilst having other programs open at the same time, such as Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, Thunderbird, Excel and Word, but since upgrading to Quantum I cannot have any other program open in the background. In fact all these programs work fine, even with all of them open at the same time until I open my browser.

The problem started with Quantum as I have not had the same issue with previous versions of Firefox.

I am using Firefox version 61.0.2 (64 bit) on Windows 7 with 4GB Ram.

I have added a couple of images to show the errors/memory issues.

Does anybody have any suggestions how to solve the problem?

Hello, I am from Hellas (Greece) and I have installed an English-Greek dictionary, these two languages are 100% non conflicting since we have different alphabet thus the dictionary automatically spell checks both languages at once.

I used to have this dictionary default and it worked perfectly until a recent update keeps changing the spelling dictionary to the default, which is the local language -> just Greek.

If I change the spelling dictionary it will work until I restart mozilla (or sometimes until I restart the pc). This is kinda irritating at worst, not a big issue, but having to change my selected dictionary every time is ridiculous.

See the attached image to understand what Mozilla does by default.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The solution is given below but I'll write it here:
1) Go to about:config (hit I accept the risk there)
2) Right click on a blank area
3) Select: New->String
4) Name that new string as: spellchecker.dictionary
5) Set the value of it the name of the spell checker, in my case it is: English & Greek
6) You are done!
To see the name of the string you need, simply install a dictionary you want, go to a page that you can write something (lets say facebook) and right click, select "spell checking" and then scroll to see the dictionary options you have, the name of your dictionary is the one you see in that little drop down menu like in the image I provided.
OK, the websites URL is: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap. When I use Firefox all the frames, ads and all the other stuff around the map is displayed just like it is in IE. The only problem is the interactive map. This is the map that will display all the PWSs (Personal Weather Stations), that normal people like me have that are connected to the internet, so that I (or anyone else) can see what the temperature and all other aspects of the current weather is like at that location. There seems to be a problem with it being displayed using Firefox that neither IE or Chrome seem to have (those two browsers display the interactive map with no problems). When you bring up the page in Firefox all you get is a blank blue screen where the interactive map should be. Don't know if the problem i with Firefox or with their website. It seems that the Wundermap company sold out to The Weather Channel about the ame time as your last update (which is when I first noticed the problem. The Weather Channels suggest that I just stop using Firefox and start using IE! That will never happen as I have seen to many problems with vulnerability using IE and will only use Firefox and have been since it's first release long long ago. If you find out it is not a problem with Firefox but their website, maybe you can get a hold of The Weather Channels web people and tell they what they need to do go get it to work with Firefox. I know that in the past there have been several other sites that did not work with Firefox as the site makers were using some web page creator that did not "port" to Firefox (at least that is what I was told by their support dept.) and soon after was fixed to work with Firefox. That is what I suggested to them, but as I stated above, their response was to just quit using Firefox.
Attached pictures are suppose to be of the same location on the map but as you can see, with Firefox-no map and with IE-map
I hate it how I have to first click on the "View history, saved bookmarks, and more" button in the top right, and then mouse over to bookmarks on the menu, and then click on bookmarks just to access them. Is there any way to set up a shortcut to the main bookmark menu? I went into customize and placed the "Bookmark Menu" button to on, but that only shows bookmark options on one click, not all my bookmarks.
Each and every time I open up a tab with a website loaded that uses DRM, the EME logo shakes. When I switch to another tab and then switch back to the previous tab, it shakes again. Is there some way to disbale this animation, perhaps in about:config? I'm aware that I am using DRM and I do not need to be informed about it again and again.
Perhaps make it so the icon only shakes once or only when you first visit a site that uses DRM content for the first time in a future update of Firefox? I can imagine this will be very annoying for other Firefox users.
1. How do I TURN OFF 'animations' to speed up my browsing?
2. I still have no way to stop gmail, from 'auto filling' in my gmail address, as I log out, forcing me everytime to DELete it manually. I did try the fix a prior contributor to this site advised, NO change.
3. I need to find a better browser. I have a old slow laptop. Built in 11/11, is a Acer Aspire. 1.4 speed. Even lots of
   things disabled and running about no special apps, she's slow.
bear in mind, the apt. bldg. provides the internet/wifi in the rent. They call it 'hi speed' it's more like slow/middle speed. And many neighbors run 4-5 devices of a 140 unit bldg. I run just this one laptop no other devices at all.
Recently been to the Microsoft store for some things. At the store my Acer runs VERY fast so it's not only my laptop but this bldg. Having said THAT, I speak often to the neighbors and theirs run FAST. nice and fast.
So if I had a NEW Asus ssd i7 I am certain I'd run fast. Meantime, at nights I often get thrown offline or can't hardly at all use my yahoo mail...just buffers.
WHAT IS A GOOD BROWSER TO USE NOT FIREFOX? Thanks
