When I start Firefox 4 (beta 9 and 11), I expect that the first page to load to be the default homepage; in my case, about:blank. Instead, the last page I had visited loads. This is not what I would like to happen and it doesn't seem like it should be intended behavior. If it is, a toggle setting should be available.

When I hover over a link with a URL that is longer than what fits within the length of the status bar in Firefox 4 Beta 12, the whole page jumps back and forth until I stop hovering over the link. It was so annoying (particularly on Google search results pages with a lot of links, etc.) I actually uninstalled Firefox 4 Beta 12 and went back to the Beta 11 release.

Is there anything in about:config that would disable the status bar that the link URLs preview in, at the least?

2 days ago I just found out I have 2 profile picture albums in my facebook account. one is full (the original) and the other one is empty. I want to remove or delete the empty album but there is no edit button on the top to click. Every time I click my profile picture I always directed to the empty one, and some of my friends said they cant see my profile pictures. I've been trying to add profile pictures to the empty album but the pictures were just all added to my original album not to the empty one.

The loading status is like how it is in chrome now. I absolutely hate that. I use the addon bar, so why can't i put it back into the addon bar. Its just additional stuff i dont need. I would also like it to be where if you hover over a link you can see it before you open it in the addon bar instead of the address bar. Problem with it being in the address bar is i can't see the whole link address.

For many prior releases, adjacent to the Back-Forward navigational buttons there has been a small down arrow icon that allowed viewing of the history stack and a way to quickly go back several levels. That was not just a convenience, that was a necesssity for NASTY sites that intercept the back button and hold you hostage at their site.

I've had this issue for awhile:

When I start up Firefox (whether it's 3.6 or 4b), old tabs reappear in the tool bar. Now, I know you're thinking, "well, change the preference or say don't save next time". Doesn't matter. These tabs are OLD, several months old, last October old. I open new tabs and save those -- these old ones still open. I close the tabs, open a new window, and save that -- the old tabs still open.

Nothing seems to matter.

I've trashed preferences. I've deleted Firefox. Reinstalled Firefox. Installed Beta 4 Firefox, still same problem.

http://start.facemoods.com/results.php?f=5&a=ppcb2&q=hfcx is the new 'net error' page for all my web browsers.

The facemoods program installed itself on my computer w/o permission. I uninstalled the program, cleared all traces of facemoods that "Malewarebytes" and "Spybot - Search and Destroy" could find, and now I have a new default net error page directed to the given link above for all my browsers.

I figured uninstalling and then reinstalling would do the trick, I even upgraded to Firefox 4, and still no luck. I wonder if this is because of not deleting all the data such as passwords and bookmarks.

How can I fix this?

When I go to YouTube to watch a clip, the progress bar at the bottom of the video does not show up. If I clear the cookies, the first time I play a video it shows up and works fine. However, after the youtube.com cookie is now loaded, any subsequent videos will not show the progress bar. This started happening in the last week or so and I cannot seem to figure it out. Any ideas?

Hello,

I'am trying to clean my firefox profile and I'm wondering about the size of the places.sql. is there a default size for that file? I mean my file is 10240Ko big. Then I close firefox, and launch speedyfox, the file decrease to 1.8 Mo. I start again firefox, it grows again to 10240Ko. Is there a way to decrease this file permanently? Why this file is so big?

Thanks in advance for your help

How can I make Firefox apply its proxy rules AFTER resolving domain names to their IP addresses, like Internet Explorer does?

I have Firefox configured to use a HTTP proxy using its manual proxy configuration, yet I do not want to use this proxy when I am trying to access web sites in my local n… (read more)

I have Firefox configured to use a HTTP proxy using its manual proxy configuration, yet I do not want to use this proxy when I am trying to access web sites in my local network. Therefore I have specified an IP address range which I want to exclude from the proxy usage:

172.16.0.0/16

Now, there's one of those local network web servers which I would like to access. Its IP address is 172.16.22.45 and its DNS hostname is "mywebserver".

My problem: If I try to accesss it with "http://172.16.22.45/website/" it works, but if I try to access it using its DNS name, "http://mywebserver/website/", the page won't load. I suspect this is because Firefox is trying to use the proxy server which does not work for local network connections, because if I set Firefox to "No Proxy" both addresses work.

My question: How do I make Firefox first resolve a web server's IP address, and THEN apply its proxy rules, instead of trying to apply the proxy rules to the servers' dns names? Because there's a lot of web servers in this local network and I can't write each of them down in the proxy exclusion rules. Some time before I was using FoxyProxy and defined a regex to exclude DNS names that do not have subdomains, but that was a rather crude workaround and I think this should work by IP addresses.

I would really appreciate if somebody could tell me how to fix this. It has to work somehow, doesn't it, or else companies would have a real hard time deploying firefox if they are using a proxy, which I suppose most of them are.

FF3 brought us the "unsorted bookmarks" and associated star in the bar fail. I got rid of the start using userchrome.css file. I need to DELETE the "unsorted bookmarks" folder permanently and forever. If this cannot be done it should be added to FF4 ASAP. When xmarks syncs with ie8 etc this stupid "unsorted bookmarks" folder keeps replicating and I NEVER use it!!!!!!!

I used to have Firefox on my laptop and my favorite part about it was Adblock. After having work done on the computer, I reinstalled Firefox. No adblock so I reinstalled it.
