I went to about:config. I changed all the pocket variables with strings to empty and changed all the Booleans to false. But I want to get rid of all the code completely and to ensure it will not be stealth installed again.

Under Bookmarks drop down list is "View Pocket List", right below "Show Bookmarks". It appeared when you offered "View Pocket List" or I may have inadvertently added it. I didn't mean to! I would like to delete it but I don't know how to.

Others are having the same problem. This is a Connecticut State web site for employees. The message is that the authenticity could not be verified when we click on the sign in link. I'm asking for a solution from Mozilla since the forum suggestions don't work and access through Explorer works fine.

This is important. We are told that Explorer is not the most secure browser. But if Firefox cannot display the sign in then we have no other choice.

The suggestion from "cor-el from March that we open the "about:config" page via the location bar doesn't work. It sends you to a Yahoo search site. And Firefox can't find "security.tis.insecure_fallback_hosts" that was suggested

I am in my account on Firefox version 38.0.5 and when I go into my settings I want to change some but they are greyed out. How do I get this so I can edit them? I went into preference in Firefox then down to Privacy and want to make some changes there but some of the areas such as clear history when Firefox close is greyed out. hOW DO i make changes in Firefox?

Today i updated flash player to 18.00160 and now it is not working in firefox 38.0.5. Tried to reinstall flash player and firefox and of course deleted folders from AppData/regedit but problem is still same. Windows 7 Firefox 38.0.5

I've tried like hell to stick with firefox, but it's become useless.

Fresh install, on a fresh OS install, on a PC with 8 cores@3ghz and 32gb ram, and firefox is STILL SLOW!!

More than 10 tabs == random hang for a couple of seconds / minutes Have more than 5 tabs, and close one it hangs a few seconds to a minute. Have more than 10 tabs open, select "close other tabs" after the tabs close, FF hangs for 30 - 90 seconds.

After closing tabs, CPU usage shoots to max for that core.. i say for that core, because mozilla limits firefox to a single core, which wouldn't be so bad, except EVERYTHING ON THE SYSTEM HANGS WAITING FOR THAT ONE CORE TO CATCH THE FUCK UP!

Add on top of that firefox looking more and more like chrome... I mean.. basically firefox is like having the slow, retarded, shit smelling version of chrome...

PLEASE GO BACK TO WHAT MADE YOU FAMOUS!!!

Here's an idea, before adding more buggy nonsense code that serves no actual purpose other than to make you look more like a bastardized version of chrome, why don't you actually fix the crappy buggy, slow garbage code you already have in place?

If the next release of Firefox does anything OTHER than fix the myriad of issues causing slow performance, and high CPU usage, i'll be moving to chrome, and leave Firefox and Mozilla to go on with it's business of a slow, agonizing death march to the bottom.

MENU, TOOLS, OPTIONS opens a new tab with "The address isn't valid" message. The URL is "aboutpreferences". I've tried launching Firefox in Safe Mode with the same result. I've also used the "Refresh Firefox" button. No change. I simply cannot access my preferences at all. I believe this is a relatively new issue but can't say for sure when it last worked correctly, but it did work in the past.

After logging out of my account on Amazon today I went to log in again and couldn't. I tried resetting my password multiple times, only to get stuck in a loop of endless captchas. I called customer service twice and tried restarting my computer. I was told by customer service to contact FF since I could log in with no difficulty in Chrome.

Any ideas how to fix?

I just upgraded to Firefox 38 on Ubuntu 14.04/64 bit. Prior to the upgrade, all webpages displayed perfectly normally. Now on v 38, the default zoom is very large. I have to ctl-minus each and every webpage I visit to get the zoom back down to a normal size.. In fact, the entire user interface of 38 is too big.. icons on the bookmark toolbar are far bigger than they were on 37.0.2.. What changed between 37.0.2 and 38??????

Further update: Tried upgrading from 37.02 to 38 on a Windows 10 tech preview system and do not get the screwed up default zoom...

When I try to update adobe flash player, after installing it, I get error msg "connection error". Plz help me by giving all possible solutions/options to resolve this issue.

Some months ago Firefox started prompting when i went into full screen mode : Allow or deny - it's irritating. I wantt o allow always without the prompt.

I know about Tools>page info>permissions but that is only url by url.

I found something that worked in here before, but it seems to have reset when firefox restarted. And i can't find the method this time around!

I had my firefox display my bookmark bar under the url bar. Its set to show, but none of the bookmarks are showing up anymore. It's just an empty bar. Even in safe mode it's an empty bar. I used to have my frequently used url's on there, but they recently disappeared. Now I'm left with an empty bar with no use, and i was wondering if I could get it back. My Logitech c920 webcam doesn't show video in Firefox, but the audio works fine.

I've tried it with all add-ons disabled.

It's the only webcam on my system.

For a while through a number of updates, I see this on certain websites, rolling stone and cnbc are two for example. If I go to fonts in my computer, and hit restore default font settings, it only temporarily resolves the issue. If I go to settings and disable websites from using their own fonts, it resolves it but fonts do not appear as sites intend them to appear. This does not happen in other browsers, only firefox. I reinstalled windows 7 fonts. I tried disabling hardware acceleration... Still hasn't resolved the issue. How can I resolve this issue in firefox?

I have Firefox on my old laptop (PC) with 300+ tabs open. I want to keep those tabs and transfer them so I can see them in Firefox on my new laptop (also PC). So I created my Sync account in Firefox on the old laptop, then logged in with the same account in Firefox on the new laptop. But my tabs were not there. How do I transfer my open tabs?

I installed ad blocker but still ads are popping up..its so irritating! This started after installing windows 7 from windows 8! On win8 ad blocker was working fine!
