My search field has stopped working. (I'm not sure if that's the right name for it - it's the field containing "EMF" in the attached screen shot.) I can type into the filed, but when I hit the search arrow or the magnifying glass (to select a search engine), nothing happens.

I tried "refreshing" FF. It wiped out my add-ons but didn't change the problem.

Do I need to uninstall/reinstall FF completely? Would that fix it? Any other options?

~ Thanks in advance ~ Ken

Since the last Firefox update sometime around March 19th 2015, I am getting repeated crashes on both my desktop and laptop computers. I have Windows 7 for my desktop and 8.1 for my laptop. Prior to the update I had very few crashes and those were usually due to a particular website's configuration or video that Firefox didn't like. I expect that, because not every single website is going to be 100% compatible all the time. What I do expect is that my browser work the majority of the time and that it not simply disappear in the middle of my online college classes for no apparent reason. I do my homework in a Word document first but there is still a lot of work I have to do while posting my material online for community projects and I've now had Firefox crash in the middle of those postings twice. These postings can take up to 1-2 hours of work since they incorporate photos and links while trying to cite them with APA formatting. This can make a man want to throw his computer out the window and head to the nearest Mozilla headquarters and give someone in charge an ear full, if not more. Anyone else having major issues with this last update? (I'm asking this knowing pretty much what the answer is.)

usually in older version like 28, if I end the process from task manager "firefox.exe" and start back the firefox, it will restore the tabs normally I have opened (web sites I had before I stop the firefox.exe) But now this newer versions, are not giving me that functionality, restore session screen becomes blank and I would loose my opened sessions, I have to use the history to restore the sessions I lost,

Please can someone have a look at this problem, it would be nice option to have to stop the firefox.exe from task manager and able to restore all the sessions again

I have attached an image for your information

Thank you with Regards

Hi,

Since upgrading to Firefox 36.0.1 (and possibly earlier), Google Drive will not properly load. While I can get to the drive page, the colored wheel that google displays as its apps are loading just continues to spin. I've tried on Chrome and it loads fine. I've also tried opening Firefox in Safe Mode with extensions/add-ons disabled, as well as clearing cache. I haven't tried the Firefox Refresh yet, but I haven't done any tweaks beyond add-ons that should be interfering.

Has anyone else come across this problem? Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks!

I needed to reinstall Windows (again!). Before doing so I saved my profile on to an external drive.

I followed the restore instructions (created a new profile and copy/pasted the saved files to the new profile folder) and can see that all the saved files now reside in the new profile folder but when I start Firefox it doesn't seem to be reading them at all. None of my bookmarks are available at all. It still looks just like a fresh install.

I must have made a mistake somewhere but I can't work out what.

Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

(found notes on restoring bookmarks, but without the tool-bar they are not accessible). Need to get those back.

I have a few sites with security cameras installed that I access via a browser to monitor them. Everything has always worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. All of a sudden the Web Components plugin keeps timing out and crashing and no matter what I do, I cannot view the cameras any more.

It may be a windows update or a Firefox update so I am wondering if you have any suggestions.

I have submitted a crash report through FF about 3 times when prompted.

Thanks,

Mike

I hadn't examined the output from Secunia PSI in awhile until yesterday, and was puzzled to discover it reported an old version of Firefox (v27.x) that was obsolete and should be removed. The installation path for this v27.x entry is under a completely different subdirectory than the C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox structure in which the current v36.0.1 installation resides -- the obsolete version is installed in the C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Mozilla Firefox structure where "..." references my specific user name (legit, as I'm the only person who uses this desktop).

I started to use Revo Uninstaller (licensed version) to force uninstallation of that specific v27.x executable, but after analysis it presented intended actions that would run the built-in uninstaller and identified that v36.0.1 would also be removed simultaneously. Is there some protocol by which I can remove the obsolete version and all of its entries in the registry without touching the current version and its registry entries (and profile, etc.)?
