I have read the other solutions to this and have implemented all of them. I disabled hardware acceleration, and updated all media drivers. This slowed down the crashes, but Firefox is still sluggish. I'm running Firefox 36.0.1 on a OSX 10.10.2 multiple addons.

Firefox goes into offline mode on a regular basis - not always, but usually several times per day. I've already set network.manage-offline-status to false (actually, it was already set that way when I checked it). It appears to happen more when I move off of a tab and then come back to it. I've uninstalled and wiped all traces for Firefox and re-installed - same result.
How can this mode be completely disabled?
Facebook videoplayer doesn't load, only Facebook and only on Firefox - other flash videoplayers on Firefox do work, Facebook video on other browsers do either.
win8.1x64, ff36.0.1 32bit, adobe flash up to date.
Have reinstalled both, FF and flash, but with no success.

Hi,
Each time I start Firefox I get a warning pop-up from malwarebytes advising me of an outbound request from Firefox to a malicious site "bestwaytosearch.com". I have checked the home page settings and reset it, checked the search engines along with add-in and extensions. I have also cleared the history and browsing cache but just can not get rid of it.
Yes I can exclude it but that would only mask the problem.

Hello everyone
I think that recently I had to update Flash version and it was all okay even after the update. But yesterday videos on YouTube all of a sudden stopped displaying. Just like that, in the morning they were okay and then around of noon, all of sudden blank. Didn't install anything new or something.. now I only get White screen with no any border, just an empty spot where the video should be. Beside that, any other flash content [i.e. videos on Facebook, vimeo are not displaying as well]. All I get on YouTube is constant "loading" indicator beside the cursor which keeps blipping.
Now the strange thing is first - I have no problems with this on other browsers like i.e. Google Chrome, and second.. IF I uninstall Flash from my PC, I can watch YouTube videos on Mozilla although the max resolution is 720p.. and vimeo/facebook videos will still not work. How da heck is that even possible? O.o
I've tried a lot of different things and nothing helped.. here are some of the them [I hope I won't forget something]
- Uninstalling Mozilla/Flash then installing them again - Uninstalling Flash, then letting Mozilla suggest me to add it - Disabling/Deleting all of my extensions - Turning off that hardware acceleration thingy - Deleting cookies from YouTube then adding them to exceptions - Clearing out whole history/cache or whatever - Right clicking on the "empty space" where video should be.. to see if any options will pop-up [Of course they don't, there is no video to start with] - Scanning for viruses [Nothing]
Can anyone please help me? Any suggestion, what can I do?

When I bring up a spreadsheet online in google docs Firefox starts dimming the screen, others tabs run slow. The screen dimming will last, for 2-3 minutes, and then clear up, 2-3 minutes later it will dim again. The fewer tabs I have helps, but not the answer. IMO the problem has gotten worse over the few upgrades. I have an HP 2000 Laptop, CPU 1300.000 MHz, memory 7586 MiB.

I have a few internal web servers that are used to manage networking equipment. These web sites get this error.
"Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to XXX. Issuer certificate is invalid. (Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid)"
I have added exceptions. did not change the symptom.
If I revert to an older version of FF I have no problems.
Obviously I would like to continue using FF but more and more of the things i do on my internal network are no longer working wth FF. It seems every update breaks something else i used to be able to do.
Getting VERY old and Ive about had it. Please fix this.

I have noticed recently that several ports associated with Firefox remain open when the Firefox browser is closed. The number of open ports increases each time Firefox is opened and I have seen that the number of open ports has reached to more than 1,000 open ports at a time. The majority of the open ports are outbound TCP using port 443 and I also note a sustained increase in the network traffic after Firefox is closed.
I have observed ports opened by the Explorer browser and noted that all of the ports opened with Explorer close when the Explorer browser is closed. The Firefox ports remain open when the browser is closed.
Questions: - Should all open ports associated with an open Firefox browser close when the Firefox browser is closed? - Does Firefox have a setting that closes all open ports when the Firefox browser is closed? - Does XP have a setting that will close all open ports associated with Firefox when Firefox is closed? - Should I have security concerns about the accumulating open ports and increased network activity when using Firefox?
Thanks.

I also tried it using Safari w/the same results.

The first scan I ran with Secunia PSI 2 flagged up an old version of Firefox 33.0.0.5397 as out of date and no longer supported and recommended updating or uninstalling. I was unaware I had any old versions of Firefox installed as I am using the latest version 36.0.4 which actually appears further down the list of programmes on the PSI scan. This old version's location is also a bit strange, it appears in a cache within a folder called erdnt in windows. The file path is .... windows\erdnt\cache\firefox.exe. I have looked online for info about this erdnt folder and it seems to be part of a backup programme called ERUNT which I do not seem to have. Very strange. The current version of Firefox 36.0.4 is located in the program files where I would expect to find it.
Can anyone shed some light on this and explain why there appears to be an old version of Firefox in this odd location and if it is OK to remove it and how I go about doing so. Do I just delete or do I need to uninstall it ? What affect any action might have on the current version of Firefox that I am using ?

I had been using numerous sites where I my username and password was appropriately retained using Firefox 36.0.4. With the update to 37.0.4, all this failed. My stored usernames and passwords failed. Deleting these credentials would not work - I would enter them, the dialogue about whether to store these would flash in the upper left of the browser window, and I would be asked for my credentials again. Happened on multiple sites on different servers. Deleting profile and reinstalling V37.0.4 did not fix. The only solution was to scrub out V37.0.4 and reinstall the prior V36.0.4. How to communicate this to the Firefox developers.

At some point I disabled trust for this cert (along with many others - I distrust non-English CAs and those known to have been hacked). Then when I clicked "Get Add ons" I would get a failure connecting to services.addons.mozilla.org due to untrusted issuer. There is no option to "add exception" because the site uses HSTS, according to the msg.
Outside of Firefox i had to use my own code to connect to services.addons.mozilla.org and debug the SSL/TLS handshake. I saw the root CA from the server and checked my Firefox trust store. Once I re-enabled trust for the DigiCert Global Root CA, I could successfully execute "Get Add ons".
The point here is that you error screen is not helpful. Even if you do not want to let me add an exception, you should at least give me a clear option to view the cert chain. Otherwise how else can someone possibly fix this? Luckily I work with security stuff so could find the certs in the chain externally by other means.
Thank you.

Hello,
how to trust a website only when there is manually imported certificate?
I disabled all CAs and want to set FF to: 1) trust (and connect) only to sites for which I have imported certificate 2) do NOT trust to any other certificate (even issued by CA with imported cert).
Even if I have the certificate in the "Servers" list, FF still complains :( Tried in FF 39, 41 and 42 (linux 64bit).
Many thanks

Firefox won't open. I have rebooted to no avail. I have killed it in Task Manager, uninstalled it, deleted the folder and tried to reinstall. At about 70% of the way through the installation, it pauses and there is a message saying that the installer is not responding. The installation panel then disappears. If I try to run it then, the behaviour is the same as it was to begin with, not opening but registering in the Task Manager.
