I can't find the setting in 23.0.1 to disable tabs. I don't like using tabs and have always had them disabled but for some reason they've activated and I don't know how to shut them off. Advice?

I'm always having to replace the sites I want displayed in the thumbnails on the new tabs. Can't I just select the 9 thumbnails/web sites that I want there permanently? My family often uses my computer and I'm not interested in their most viewed websites! (:

When I am connecting to a site with a self-signed certificate, sometimes I get: "{site} uses an invalid security certificate." I can add an exception for self-signed certificates, but what does it mean when the security certificate is invalid.

The new tab button disappeared from my navigation menu. No changes or upgrades had been made. Whereas all the support topics suggest going to Customize Toolbar, the new tab button no longer exists there either. It was there in the morning, gone in the evening for no apparent reason. The + does exist at the end of series of tabs, but not in the navigation toolbar, and the add tab + does NOT exist anywhere on a page there there is only one tab. I do have HIDE TAB BAR WITH ONE TAB 1.1 but have had it for weeks and the new tab button was always there. How can I restore the New Tab button to the Navigation bar if it is not available in the Customize Toolbar selection?

I have deleted all history using the History Clear All option and rebooted FF. The Search dropdown menu in the middle of the Start Page still displays all searches I've made in the past from it. How do I delete this from this Search bar?

I log on to by bank and firefox remembers my account #, but when the next screen pops up the bank does not recognize my computer. Each time after answering the correct security question ,I check the box to remember this as a personal computer but it never does. This only happens when I use Firefox, not other browsers. The other browsers remember the acct and that it is a personal computer.

When using Firefox, the current tab will randomly go back to the previous page. Often this occurs when the user is not performing any action, although it will occur when entering data or clicking on a button.

I've cleared my computer of all viruses & bugs, cleaned the registry, and reinstalled Firefox 23.0.1 but the advertisement box still displays on any web page except the Mozilla sites.

How do you select and move more than one bookmark at a time? Shift+Click does not select multiple items that are next to one another in a list because the items open in firefox before this happens.

This has been happening since I went from firefox 3.6 to firefox 18 when it came out to the 23.0.1 I have right now. When I go on some specific heavy websites such as yahoo news, the browser and my computer will lock up for about 10 seconds while my hard drive light is on the whole time, and the only info about:crashes gives me is a link to a page called throttling, which apparently doesnt exist anymore. It happens whether its on manual or automatic cache size and only seems to happen when its at max cache. According to about:crashes it happened only 4 times before I went from 3.6 to 18.

Ive tried turning almost all of my addons off and that didnt work, ive had harware acceleration off for a really long time so its not that. I always have all my plugins turned off except flash and it doesnt seem to have anything to do with flash. The firefox health report also counts it as a crash.

I am running an older machine, but with a fresh install of Windows 7. Until the latest update, I had no issues with the versions of Firefox since my last OS install. Now when I am in the latest Firefox 23.0.1, I get occasional freezing that will lock the entire machine and need a hard restart. I am still diagnosing, but to date the only constant I know is Firefox. I have not experienced the same freezes using IE.

Occasionally I will think the freeze is happening when I lose both keyboard and mouse control during a Firefox session, but after 1 to 2 seconds, they both return. Typically though, it just freezes. Most times it occurs while I am away from the keyboard getting coffee or something. It is so transparent, the only thing that tells me the freeze occurred (other than loss of mouse and keyboard) is the system time still being several minutes ago.

I have seen the other forum message regarding Firefox 21 and Firefox 22, but I figured I ask in a new message regarding Firefox 23.

I have done the reset to Firefox as of last night. I reloaded Ghostery as my only Add-On, which was the only Add-On running during earlier versions of Firefox. Already this morning I have had the 1 to 2 second pause, but no freezing yet. (Now Troubleshooter has been added due to this message.)

I ignored it multiple times; tried to contact the "producer" asking to desist, but no reply. Norton says the file is VERY New, but (apparently) safe. I checked FireFox Extensions page and a “Featured” Extension, which appears to be this “Flash Video Downloader” is listed, but when I check it out, the Developer seems to be someone different. I finally downloaded the file, but have not yet installed it. And I get a different name and company: InstallPath -Amonetize Ltd. in Israel! Is this legit or a “worm”. If latter, how do I GET RID OF IT? The above. When I opened a new tab in the past, before the new update, firefox would automatically highlight the text in the address bar, and I could simply start typing from there the address of the site I wanted. I could quickly get to anywhere I wanted in less than a second. Now, I have to drag and click into the address bar every time. I installed an add-on called "custom newtab" but it just slows me down further due to a lag between the opening of a new tab, and the add-on kicking in and highlighting the address bar content. What happens is this: Click "new tab" New tab opens blank and the text appears highlighted "google.co.uk" for about a quarter second. Page loads Google and the highlighted text becomes unhighlighted for another quarter second. Add-on kicks in and highlights the text "google.co.uk" meanwhile I've already begun typing and end up losing the first part of the words, sending me to random web pages and searches.

Why did this change?! Fix it please!

Since last 5-6 months I am not able to access my google account from Mozilla firefox, but able to access from IE. Following error messages are appearing.....

Visiting this page: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/map-geolocation or any other website using geolocation to track my location, shows a blank map and no prompt "Share location: Allow, Block, Not now".

This happened since upgrading to FF 24 (Desktop Win7 64). Downgrading to FF 23.0.1, solves the problem: FF prior to 24 supports geolocation with no problem. Tried in both my desktop and laptop with separate FF installations, using different plugins.

I work for an ISP company that regularly sets up routers for customer locations. One of the things that I have to change on it is to set the management port to 8080. For instance 192.168.0.1:8080. Once I try to setup a new router Firefox automatically assumes that I want to go to the same 8080 port and automatically enters it in for me. Since the new router has not been setup with 8080 yet I can not get in. So basically I would like to see if I can stop Firefox from automatically entering this bit of information in. It is very annoying and even more annoying that I have to use a different browser to make the changes since Firefox can not. I did find a similar fix posted when Firefox automatically enters in ".www" but that did not fix my problem.

Since none of my devices have a "manage account" selection under Sync (or Sync set up), there's no way to get or reset my recovery key. I only see "Set up Firefox sync" and "Pair a device". Everything else leads to a dead end without access to a recovery key or being able to manage the account.
