using quantum, 60.6.x

well, this is a no brainer: browser will not remember previous session if you clear the browsing data on exit. i want to both. i want to clear the browsing data on exit, and also be able to restore previous sessions:

clever internet programmer: that isn't possible me: like 'duh'

before the conversation goes that way, i want to say that i'm asking for an enhancement feature - to clear browsing data EXCEPT for the data needed to restore my sessions, which is something you guys probably already thought of, but may not have because of all the other fires you're expected to put out

I have been using multi-level bookmark folders with a lot of URLs for awhile and they worked fine. Upon upgraded to Firefox Ver. 60.2.0esr (32-bit) yesterday, however, I can not find where they are any more. Basically, I have no idea what is the new entry point to these folders from the new basic FireFox screen. Since I have been saving HTML backup files regularly, I tried to follow that procedure to make a new backup and it did get saved to my H/D with the content organized like all the earlier ones. I tried to import one of the earlier backups. It seemed to work. Yet, I could not find where did it go afterwards. I do find some single level / linear listings of many URLs of sites that I visited previously under "Other Bookmarks". Most of them were a long time ago (I can even remember the subject.). Although I spotted some that are fairly recent (within the past month). But, surprisingly, one has triple identical entries. This is very puzzling. Please provide some guidance. Thanks a lot,

We use Firefox ESR in our enterprise and have been using 32bit for a very long time even though we have all Windows 64 bit OSs, we are now attempting to move from Firefox 68.x ESR 32bit to Firefox 78.x ESR 64bit. The issue we are seeing is the Firefox profile does not automatically get picked up after the upgrade has taken place, our process is to uninstall the previous version and then install the new version. We know we can recover the profile by opening the browser and going to about:profiles but asking a user community or thousands makes it a little difficult on our end user support. Is there a way to automate the profile move during the upgrade of the browser in this scenario? Also not that a lot of our users have more than one profile in thier user folder so if there is an automated way of doing this how can we tell which profile is their current default profile?
