Hello,

In the past, FF downloaded documents without opening them in the browser. This is two weeks now that whenever I download a document, FF is now opening the document in the browser without asking me.

I welcome if someone could tell me what I can do to stop FF from opening the documents.

We have been using Thunderbird with a Cox email account. Cox has just transferred all its customers to Yahoo. I want to use Thunderbird with Yahoo. How do I set that up?

Hello, I've installed Firefox twice in the last couple of days (Windows 10 - I think) and I continue to receive messages that say I need to install the latest version.

Do you issue updates daily, or is there something wrong with my Firefox installation or is it something else?

I have several profiles in Thunderbird 115.9.0 (64-bit) on Win10 with each profile having few different email accounts which got created over a period of time since we had changed some mail service providers (mail hosting server) earlier.

Profile A1 -Email account a -Email account b (period Jan2022 - till date) -Email account c

Profile A2 -Email account p (period Jan 2020 to May 2020) -Email account q -Email account r

Profile A3 -Email account x (period Apr 2020 to Aug 2020) -Email account y

Profile A4 -Email account z (period Jan 2017 to Dec2019)

In reality the email account "b", "p", "x" & "z" are the same.

Question 1) So how ii can merge all my emails from different emails accounts located into different Profiles into a one single mail account and profile. Please note that the option to retrieve old mails from server is not there as the service provider has changed so i want to merge all past emails into one mail folder from local TB database only.

Question 2) After merging, there might be some duplicate emails in the same folder. How do i remove the duplicates and keep single copy.

Please advise.

I have a thunderbird account but switched to gmail and now wish to return to thunderbird but error message 400 from Google appears each time.What do I need to do - in simple terms pls

Until the 9th of april I had no problem since then I keep on getting the message: login to server imap.tools.sky.com user namemorgandavid33@sky.com failed

retry or enter new password.

I contacted sky and I did change my password on their advice and I still cannot login. How do I get thunderbird to accept this new password. Or is there another issue with logging in?

The Sky.com email is now provided by Yahoo. I can access my emails there but I prefer Thunderbird and have used it for some time now. Thank you for your help.

About a week ago I started getting these update error messages stating "Update available - Firefox couldn't update automatically. Download the new version". I've also tried clicking "learn more" on the error message but it's a dead link. Going into the settings for updates I am set to auto update, but when I manually check for updates it says "Failed to check for updates".

The help article on this issue simply tells you to download and manually reinstall Firefox, but I'm having to do this nearly every day. I work in IT myself so I know a "bandaid" workaround when I see one. Is there a solution to this issue?

Hello, I have two email addresses, one personnel, one business. The other night, Thunderbird asked me to download an update. Since downloading the update, all my business emails and subfolders are gone and have been replaced by my personnel email address and subfolders. (in the left hand pane - pic attached) The business emails and subfolders are on my main server yahoo, but are not on my Thunderbird program. Can someone help me to recover the business email address emails and subfolders? Thank you.

Sadly, my old Windows 10 PC crashed, and I'm migrating to a new computer. I have a backup of the old default profile folder (9k7faw1z.default), but not of the entire Profiles folder. I have tried to import this old default profile using the import function in my new Thunderbird install on my new Windows 11 computer.

Alas, I get the error message "Import failed unexpectedly; more information may be available in the Error Console." I looked in the error console, and it's empty.

Is there a better way to import my old data from my old default profile folder? It's 3GB of valuable data and I'll be in a pickle if I can't access it.

We've enjoyed T'bird on this PC for several years. About a year ago my wife got a new laptop; it came with Outlook as the default email program. It worked only fairly well, but now it has pretty much bitten the dust. I installed T'bird for her and it's working fairly well, but with a couple minor bugs. First, there is no address book in it and also the menu bar across the top is missing. HELP!!!!!

I have tried many times to add a third email (Gmail account) to my Thunderbird email application. I successfully added both a Comcast and Outlook email account, but Gmail won't install. I'm using Windows 11 on a Surface Pro 8 laptop.

I have several users who are migrating email from Outlook, and they want me to confirm if the Thunderbird export will bring over:

• drafts
• sent mail
• deleted mail
• any subfolders in the mailbox

Due to repeated issues over a week, I uninstalled Firefox days ago. Tried to Reinstall it repeatedly on same device several times. It was working before..BUT it keeps showing its downloaded on Settings but Firefox download page keeps showing "DOWNLOAD" Tried several times. Not my computer. Nothing works to resolve it.. Windows 11..

When I click on install Firefox 124.0.2 the following window pops up stating; Sorry, Firefox can't be installed. This version of Firefox requires Microsoft Windows 10 or newer. Please click the OK button for additional information.

Which opens up a new window giving me the following installation requirements.

Firefox System Requirements Firefox 124.0.2 Windows Operating Systems (32-bit and 64-bit)

   Windows 10 or later

Recommended Hardware

   1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster compatible processor or System on a Chip (SoC)
   1GB of RAM / 2GB of RAM for the 64-bit version
   500MB of hard drive space

As previously noted, my windows operating system and hardware meet the Firefox System Requirements.

Please let me know what needs to be done to install Firefox 124.0.2

This appears to be an ideal resource for e-mail handling. It’s free, (open source?), private, secure, feature rich, streamlined, and (of course) it’s Mozilla. I would like to utilize this with my website and to eventually roll out the app version to my team. I’m hoping to define rules to automate moving e-mails to specific folders and to automate flagging/painting specific e-mails, notes, tasks, and calendar events. I suppose that it’s always easier to ask for things/stuff, but I hope that all of this makes enough sense to you that you were already working on plans for such a development/project. Perhaps GitHub’s resources could ease the burden. Who knows, perhaps you will add appointment setting and VoIP hosting to your software offerings. (I have been looking for a feasible (freesible), private, and secure way to implement such resources in my website. Also, I sincerely hope that Mozilla will partner with BlackBerry to do more big things.

I utilize Bluehost, Concrete CMS, osTicket, Elkarte, Church CMS, and PrestaShop. I am also playing around with Gibbon and RosarioSIS (and trying to survey) to see what will best suit our tutoring, training, and growing plans for academic development.

Hi, I am a new TB user, and love it so far :) However, I am on Fedora (new to that too) and installed it via the Fedora repository rather than Flathub. You don't need to know that though, the upshot is...

I need to uninstall TB, and then install it again immediately (from another source). I spent WEEKS getting help from a coder who wrote me a python script and all sorts of headaches to get my massive 20 year email archive converted from mac into TB. So I have tons of nested local folders, and all settings set up nicely. I am scared of losing stuff, account details, settings, worst of all local folders and the emails contained in them.

Please can someone advise me how best to go about uninstalling it and reinstalling it while leaving my entire profile, emails, settings, accounts intact. Is that possible? Thanks

This has been a headache. Cox has had us migrate our accounts to yahoo. I have been able to do most of my emails, but my husband had yahoo tech help him and one of his emails will not download to the thunderbird account. The tech did a pop.mail.yahoo with this one but created new imap accounts with the other two. I tried to create a new account but it says Incoming server aleady exists. So I deleted the account, shut down Thunderbird and brought it up and tried again. I got the same message.

I am new extremely tech savvy but know a little more than my husband. If someone could please help walk me through this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

• • • After messing with it for about 8 hours I got it resolved*** I'm moving thunderbird to a new computer. So far I've created a new profile on a the new computer's G: drive and the program is also installed in a different folder on the G: Drive. (I'm planning to have two copies of Thunderbird on the computer). The other copy for different mailboxes will be on the C: Drive. I copied the profile from the old computer to the new computer's G: Drive in a separate location. When I open Thunderbird it lists all my email accounts in the moved profile but when I go into the inboxes they are all blank. I noticed if I left click on the inbox and go to properties it's showing the inbox location as the F: drive (which is where it was on the old computer) for example mailbox:///F:/Thunderbird/Profiles/......... I don't see a way to edit the inbox location. How can I change that so it's looking for the mailboxes on the G: Drive instead of the F: Drive? The path is also a little different between the two computers. The old computer was: F:/Thunderbird/Profiles/........ and the new computer is G:/Thunderbird Data/Profiles/.........

Also I don't know if this makes any difference...On the old computer a 32 bit version of Thunderbird was running even though it is a 64 bit computer. The new computer is running the 64 bit version. They are both updated to the latest Thunderbird release.
