I have 2 local domains that is not exists in real domain. Example: 1. mydomain-localhost.com 2. mydomain.localhost

My HTML for testing is simple. ``` <a id="download-link" href="target-file.zip" download>Download</a> ```

When I try to download from mydomain-localhost.com, it used to be working fine but then blocked after editing some JS, PHP. And now it was blocked forever. Download window said "This file is not commonly downloaded."

But if I try to download from mydomain.localhost, it will be working fine. Both domain using same HTML and file location on Windows.

How to make Firefox unblock this testing domain that is only exists on my PC?

Hello, I am on an Imac using Mac OS 10.13.6 High Sierra. I did the following in order.

1. Yesterday I downloaded FireFox 89.0. I'm having problems with my eyes so the tabs being the same color as the screen made it impossible for me to use. All history, tabs and bookmarks were available at this point.

2. This morning downloaded FireFox 88.0.1. When I opened it up I lost all my history, tabs and bookmarks.

3. I then opened up FF 89 again thinking that everything was updated to that version and I would reacquire my lost history etc ... I did not ... everything was missing.

4. Did the same for FF 88 and history et al were still missing.

5. I just checked my ~library/Application Support/ FireFox/Profiles and in addition to my original i86vhe6t.default and lzsayqt6.default-release there are 3 new profiles I'm assuming were a result of steps above.

I'd like to use FF 88 and recover all of my history, tabs and bookmarks as close to before I downloaded FF 89 as possible. Can you please help instruct me as to how to do that. thanks. ...

Later: After I originally wrote the above, I somehow managed to get back all of my settings but in FF89. I'd like to update my request to get information to use a previous version of FF with all of my settings. It seems when I launched FF88 and tried to change the profile to what I wanted, it wouldn't let me.

Yesterday, June 5, I run the Ubuntu software updater and it updated Thunderbird to 78.8.1 and now the 3 email accounts I had are no longer showing up. Instead it just shows Local Folders with Trash and Outbox, all empty. When I check Account Settings, it does have entries for the 3 email accounts for outgoing email (SMTP). There may have been an error during the update as I think there was some message about something that crashed; I may have accidentally started Thunderbird during the update. The email accounts I have are: one with twc and two with gmx.us, IMAP. The email directory tree still seems to be there under: ~/.thunderbird/[random_string].default/ImapMail

So what would be the easiest and safest way to fix this?:

 1) Should I just try to enter the IMAP email information again for the 3 accounts?
 2) Or should I uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird?

And, where is the IMAP server information stored? I think I can recreate it all, but it might be better to use the previous information to start with. Thanks.

Hello I can not properly transfer Thunderbird from my old pc to the new one for the same version (78.11.0 64 bits) respecting the method recommended above.

The result is very partial for emails from a single account. In addition, the address book is not provided, nor are the old mails classified.

So unusable.

Donc inutilisable. Merci pour les réponses

Since I find the new Proton GUI a step backwards in usability, I plan to defer the inevitable as long as possible by moving to the ESR version (currently V78).

  1. How long are ESR versions supported?
  2. What is the ESR version release cycle?
  3. I plan to try using the -allow-downgrade command line option when downgrading, but the articles "Install an older version of Firefox" and "Command line options" are a bit short on step-by-step instruction. What is the correct procedure / sequence?
  4. I have serious misgivings that the result will be usable, given the large difference in version numbers. I have made a backup of my profile. Should I have problems with the downgraded profile, I will presumably have to create a new profile. How can I recover data from the backup profile and import it into the new profile?
  5. I am using Firefox Sync and hope that it will relieve me of some of the pain associated with a new profile. I am not syncing History however, because I prefer to keep the histories of my separate Firefox installations on different devices separate. Is there another way to preserve the history from a particular installation?
  6. If not, what can I expect from sequentially turning on history sync on my various Firefox installations?
  7. Will all history be merged or will subsequent history lists overwrite earlier ones?

Any further advice which might prevent me from screwing this up would be most welcome!

Help! Today, I updated from v. 88.x to the latest v. 89.x of Firefox for Mac OS. Unfortunately, the new look and interface of v. 89 is very difficult for me to see and use. The menu bar items (text and icons) are too small, and everything is too small, too light and low-contrast gray with no borders ,etc. I've been using Firefox for Mac OS for at least 15 years, and I've never been so dissatisfied by the look of an upgrade. I am running on a Mac Pro with OS X 10.14.6.

Having played with the various preference menus in v. 89.x that I could find, I am not able to find settings to return the look to that of the previous version. Is there a "theme" to make the interface user-friendly again, or do I need to actually revert to v. 88.x? If I need to go back to v. 88.x, how do I do that and preserve all of my original settings, bookmark, etc.? Thank you!

Got an update to89.0 four days ago, that totally screwed up my userChrome.css file -- which I now fixed (Again, thank you to all that help with posting this updated file to get tabs on the bottom for us non-techies) but I am now getting notices to update to 90.0 Beta 5. This is new, as far as I know, and I certainly don't want to try Beta versions, if anything I'd like less updates to avoid the userChrome incidents ... Is there a way to get out of this Beta update cycle, and back to whatever "normal" update requests are? Thanks!

A week or so ago, a faulty upgrade download trashed my Windows 10. I had it reloaded and am trying to get all my programs up. I have been successful with everything except Thunderbird. Even tho I found what seemed to be my old profile, it doesn't seem to contain contacts/addresses, folders or saved emails. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I downloaded and installed Thunderbird 78.)

Thanks in advance.

Last night, 6/6/2021, I converted back to version 88 because version 89 was intolerable. In version 88, I told Firefox to not upgrade without my permission, but they over rode that this morning. When I re-installed version 88 last night, I said to do it in a new instance. So I would assume my open tabs from my original FireFox installation are still recorded on my C drive someplace. Can I restore my previously open tabs from my original version? I had a lot of important information that I want to get back to.

Hi, helpers! I'm running Tbird 78.8.1 on a new, up-to-date Mac running the latest Big Sur.

I had to wipe my previous computer (long story) and I was careful to export the file containing my old Tbird emails to Dropbox. On the new Mac, I'm using Mac Mail.

I'd like to: 1. import those emails to Mac Mail, OR - if that turns out to be impossible, 2. import them into Tbird on this new computer.

To save the emails before I wiped the old computer, I looked up the instructions and exported the email archive from my profile. The file is named "ymm1vh1i.default". From there I can drill down to: /data reporting/archived/ to two folders, labeled 2021-02, and 2021-03. The first of those contains 27 files; the second, 5 files. All those files end in .jsonlz4. They can't be opened by anything on the Mac.

Can I retrieve those files with either Mac or Thunderbird? And - gawd, I hope the answer isn't "yes" - does this mean there are only 32 saved emails, total?

Thanks so much!

I switched back to version 88. The "Upgrade" was intolerable. I need, want, and use daily the little icons at the top of the screen: The Open Book to show Side Bars to toggle my bookmarks into and out of view, and the Leaning Library books to manage my bookmarks. These were missing in the new version. And Firefox moderators kept turning of and archiving comments because they just didn't want to hear al the complaints.

I created this in a new account, because it sounded like a good idea when the question was asked (to preserve my existing settings). But now I don't have my previously open tabs. Can I get back to that previous "upgraded account to find my tabs and restore them to this new account in god old version 88?
