i have an old win10 machine with a huge thunderbird profile - 37.9GB size / 75.2GB disk. i'd like to move it with Tools Export / Import to a new win11 machine.
on win10 i click thru tools > export > open profile folder
and in ...\thunderbird\profiles i select yhcc00j7.dan and export it to an external ssd.
it runs for hours and then a number of these appear: "Are you sure you want to copy with file without its properties? The file %2B...." has properties that can't be copied to the new location.... Type WDSEML file size 1.02KB....".
so i check "Do this for all current items" and hours later it finishes.
on win11 i click thru tools > import > import from another thunderbird profile > choose a profile and select the folder yhcc00j7.dan on the ssd and import everything > start
for a minute or so it says "importing .... 0%" but no new profile shows up in ...appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles\ and then "import failed unexpectedly" is displayed.
i've tried this twice. both machines have version 115.11.1 "esr update channel". what am i doing wrong?

I have been trying to solve this for a few days now. I tried to watch Netflix when it said, "Firefox is installing components needed to play the audio or video on this page. Please try again later."
I found out this was due to Widevine not being installed AT ALL on my browser for some reason. The plugins manager has been saying that it will "be installed shortly" for a week now. I already tried toggling DRM off and on multiple times. I already tried using troubleshooting mode. I already checked GMP preferences to make sure nothing relating to Widevine was set to 'false'. I already tried turning off my antivirus long enough to try everything again and still nothing has changed. I do not have any VPNs running either. I am attaching a screenshot of what the browser console shows when I toggle DRM off and on again and try to run Netflix. I am also attaching what the gmp toggles say. Please help me figure out what is wrong!

I've been accessing ATT.net along with gmail.com for years now. Every once in a while, ATT don't accept my login password? Error message reads: "Login to server inbound.att.net with username pennsynut@att.net failed." And when I "enter new password" with the password from ATT.net, it still don't accept it. I vaguely remember doing something with ATT.net years ago. But why does it keep doing this "login failed"? I ask because if I wait a day, it will re-insert itself. When I check passwords in TB for ATT.net. All it shows is "mailboxc//(mailbox://). The gmails show smtp, imap & oath. But ATT only shows that one. ? How do I get the other passwords in there?

Hi, I’m trying to move from Outlook 2003 to Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64-bit). Using the import wizard fails. Tools > Import select Import From Outlook and the following message appears. “Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client can not fulfil the message request”. I’m taken back to the Import from screen with the addition of a red panel with “No Profile Found” on it. Outlook 2003 is the default e-mail client, checked more than once. I’m trying to migrate to thunderbird so I have no account setting, thinking they would be imported. My pst’s files have been moved to a directory on a different partition to the Outlook programme, tried creating a dummy profile using default Outlook storage and still fails. I’ve looked at converting pst files to mbox, but this doesn’t see to include the account settings. But I could add them manually or I can not import the mbox files or directory structure into Thunderbird. I’ve been messing around trying other things but nothing works. Internet searches, Thunderbird forum searches suggests solutions but all fails and the steps don’t match Thunderbird menu, etc in many cases. I’m stuck. Can anyone give any advice on how to migrate from Outlook 2003 to Thunderbird. Tools, Add-Ins or manual methods, anything just to get me up and running. PS I’ve two pst files, one is the default main Outlook.pst and the second a secondary store I created in the folders of Outlokk called Store.pst, beside the none default storage location everything else is standard for Outlook and Thunderbird.

On the 23. of Mai I first noticed that I am unable to download any files whatsoever. I tried downloading .exe files and also a .csv file. When I try to download one of these files it appears in the downloads window but immediately goes to the status "Failed". Any retry fails as well.
The same thing goes for extensions. I cannot download any extensions or plugins using my Firefox browser. Since I reinstalled Firefox I can now also not use Plex because Firefox can't install the required plugins.
I will attach screenshots of all the errors I get.
All of the above worked when I tried it on the Edge browser.
Firefox version: 126.0 Windows 11
Things I have tried to fix the issue:
Is Firefox using some other temporary folder for downloads?
Any ideas on how to fix this issue would be appreciated.

I have added my gmail account to TB and it downloads all the folders and emails correctly, but as soon as I try to move an email with an attachment from a local folder to a folder on the gmail acount I get "Connection to server imap.gmail.com timed out" errors.
I would like to keep a comprehensive Users Manual (PDF?) offline. Is there such a thing, or am I just being "old school"?

I just installed Firefox on a new Windows 11 desktop computer. I ported my profiles over and it appears everything came over EXCEPT: - Themes aren't working. I've tried switching them and they still don't display. The menu bar is black w/white letters; the toolbar is gray with white icons/letters. - My extension icons are there...sort of. If I hover over them I can see the tool tip but the icon doesn't appear on the toolbar which is light gray in color. I can live without the themes if I have to. Not so much the invisible extension icons. Any suggestions as to how I can get them to appear as they do on my Windows 10 desktop? Screen cap below. Cursor is hovered over the Undo Close Tab extension icon but where's the icon? Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this will be appreciated!!

Hi, I am running Thunderbird v. 115.9.0 on Windows 10 on my desktop. I have been forced by Rogers in Canada to migrate my internet service from their legacy internet service to Rogers Ignite with its Ignite (Comcast) gateway. My email accounts were supposed to be migrated automatically, but, for reasons unknown, were not, and a tech support representative had to migrate them from the old legacy service to Ignite. After that was done, I opened Thunderbird, and was asked to authenticate my 2 Rogers/Yahoo email accounts, one of which is my primary account, the other a secondary account. I was asked to authenticate the secondary account first, which went well. I then clicked on my primary account in the left-hand pane and was again asked to authenticate, but the dialogue box showed it was for the secondary account. Thinking that this secondary account authentication was just being repeated for no particular reason, and not thinking that the email address in the authentication request box could be changed, I clicked Agree. My primary account is now showing the exact same emails as are listed in the secondary account, and I'm extremely concerned that I will not be able to recover all of the thousands of emails in my primary account, many of which are business-related. When I log into my primary account on the Rogers/Yahoo mail website, the emails in the primary account are still showing, so I know they are still on the Rogers IMAP server. However, I really want to continue to use my primary account on Thunderbird. I'm not sure if I should delete the primary account and recreate it - the Rogers support tech said that deleting the account may result in an issue where my current password for a re-created primary account may not be recognized, so I'm leaving things as they are until I hear back. It the advice is to not delete and recreate the account, what steps can I take to recover the emails on my primary account in Thunderbird. When I go to update Firefox through the settings > general > firefox updates > check for updates, I am getting the error in the title. I can manually download the app installer and update to the most current version which is what I did for version 125.0.1, yesterday.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, installing the beta branch, refreshing firefox, running in troubleshooting mode, completely deleting all user firefox files, and I still get the error. No DNS resolver issues to the update server. No firewall issues. No network blocking (tested with other devices).
This issue started after March update to 124.0.1 and continues to current stable release 125.0.1.
This issue also seems to extend to checking for extension updates.

This is my first post so bare with me. :-)
We are deploying the 32-bit version of the Firefox Browser to 4 700 clients and the 64-bit version to only 8 clients; all clients on a 64-bit Windows 10 environment. We will migrate to Windows 11 22H2 this year. The manager for the 8 clients says he wants the 64-bits version just because it's...64-bits. No other reason.
I've read that the 64-bit version can not handle Java, Media Players like VLC and mayby some other plugins. Is that still so?
What is the main reason TODAY for using 64-bit Firefox Browser instead of 32-bit, except for the use of 4 GB+ RAM?

Prior to getting some desktop PC upgrades that required a new install of Windows 11 and a new install of Firefox, I backed up my entire PC (yea!).
Now that I have re-installed Firefox, I see that I have none of my saved bookmarks and so I want to restore the Firefox profile - all of it or at least the bookmarks.
I have tried following the Firefox instructions for this, but am apparently not doing it right.
I can't seem to locate the bookmarks file, for starters, in my backed up files. I find the profile but I don't find anything like places.sqlite.
Can someone help me so that I am locating the right (and complete) files, copying them correctly, and then switching to the new/old profile correctly?

I have followed the instructions provided, and copied the profile (renamed) into the folder on the new laptop. When I run "thunderbird.exe-p" I receive a message "cannot find Thunderbird.exe-p" and asked to try again, but without success. I would be grateful for help on this problem. With thanks Alan
