Hello,

I updated to macos Monterey yesterday and I guess I guess I also my firefox updated to 102.0.1 (64-bit)... Anyway, I was very much used to have a white background in firefox's built-in pdf viewer when viewing pdfs that really have a white background (for example if you download it and check it with Adobe reader, or any reader other than the viewer built-in the browser).

Now the background color is gray, and it's not convenient for me at all. I could not find the magic setting that allow to changing this behaviour... I do not use themes, so I do not mind changing something there if needed.

Could any guru help here please ? That would be much appreciated.

Hi. I need your help, maybe you'll know a solution. Let me explain...

To make my work easier, on sent e-mails I put tags and e-mail subjects, which are the most important. These e-mails usually include attachments, a few words about them and a signature. Quite often, I need to print only the subjects of e-mails. This is because it's easier for me to look at the printed list of e-mail subjects, which is kinda like a to-do list.

Now, to print only the subjects, I select all of the e-mails that interest me, and then I have to copy all of them, along with their contents. I paste my whole text into a word processing program, and there, using a "find and replace" function, I delete the e-mail addresses, tags and contents. Just like that, all that is left is just a list of e-mail subjects. As you can see, this is quite troublesome and takes a lot of time.

Do you, by any chance, know any solution, that can make printing lists of e-mail subjects possible? I've tried using some extensions, but i haven't found anything interesting or worth my attention. Maybe if you don't know how to easily solve this, you can suggest one to the creators. I would be very grateful!

Hi there. Do you know if filing/segregating tags is possible? If I make new ones, they appear at the end or, like I've noticed, among the old ones. You might find my question a bit weird, but I would like to put my tags in order. Especially because each tag has its own number, and you can pin them to e-mails only by using a numeric keypad. If I filed tags by my order, it would be easier for me to remember their numbering. This addition would be a lot easier than deleting all of my tags and then adding them again.

I'm about to say "Screw You Thunderbird!" I've been using it for years... Generally, I can use logic and find my answer - but now Thunderbird has become to bulky and unusable I'm thinking about getting away from it and going to Outlook. (YUCK) All I want to do is enlarge the font in the message pane.. but when I look for help, it tells me to go to "Tools---Options"... DUH! That choice does not exist. I've been exploring Thunderbird for two days trying to find the answer to that SIMPLE FRIGGIN question.... There IS NO ANSWER! Just sloppy talk, talk, talk, talk talk... Getting help for Thunderbird is a thing of the past. Now the users seem to be a bunch of elitist a-holes.

I'll give you one more chance... If I can't get a logical and truthful.. EASY STRAIGHT FORWARD answer in the next few hours... I'm gone... I guess TB is no longer the platform to use.

I've been using Thunderbird for a long long time and have always had many imap accounts setup, including a Yahoo Mail account.

As of just the other day (I believe Tues, June 7, 2022), suddenly and unexpectedly, Thunderbird 91.10.0 (64-bit) began showing ALL of my mail folders in the Yahoo account on the server, when I have always had many folders hidden (in unsubscribed state).

I have Thunderbird installed on 4 computers, and, as I launched TB on each of them, the displayed Yahoo folders updated to all folders on each computer (I had originally set up my profile on one computer and then later copied it to each of the others).

When I go into the TB yahoo account settings to re-unsubscribe and apply the settings and then restart TB, all folders remain showing... I cannot seem to get TB to once again unsubscribe to the folders I'm not interested in seeing in TB.

For reference, other imap accounts I have configured in the same profile remain with the same subscribed/unsubscribed settings I've always had.

If anyone has any ideas or explanations or a recommended fix, I'm all ears! ty!

I go to Yahoo.com for email several times daily. I rarely go to Youtube.com .

I believe the order that url suggestions (and autocomplete) come up has changed in one of Firefox's updates and now, as soon as I type the "y", Firefox suggests Youtube.com . I go to Yahoo.com a hundred times for any one time I might visit Youtube and Yahoo would come first alphabetically so I would assume it would "suggest" Yahoo before Youtube.

My guess is that Firefox decides on which site is more popular during daily browsing but this was not the case before.

I have tried several methods to attempt to control the order the suggestions appear but Youtube still autocompletes as soon as I type the "y".

Any way to change this to my liking? Or is this just the way it is and will be?

I've attached a screenshot but I edited it to obliterate a few id's and personal information from the example url's.

Can not disable address bar search

I got a new computer running windows 11.

I installed Firefox as my default browser. I then noticed the address bar performing search which is annoying as hell and actually and interferes with productivity as I use search. Basically, I have to redo searches after the address bar. It is problematic. The one off search from address bar according to last survey only 26% of users like it. rest want it gone.

As for me, I have tried the solution of Keyword set to false and the browser url oneoff also set to false.

I saw another suggested item of turn off keyword search. However, that item does not have an off button or switch within Windows 11. Just check marks of the suggested keywords that developers installed into the field when downloaded. I unchecked all the items as that was the only change I could do. So, there is no keyword selected. I closed all browser windows and restarted Firefox.

The address bar search still occurs. This make the previous question and answer solution invalid as of August 12, 2022.

I consider this a BUG and a major development of Firefox browser failure. When I search, I am looking for generally wide range of results and alternative search options are better than specific one off search. Best example; What is difference between Clementines and Mandarins? As a one off search you get one set of results. When you use the proper search box of a search engine, you get totally different results that are more useful and less time consuming to know the full range of answers, history, physical traits as well as other items not considered in the address bar search. In the search engine box, you do get the address bar search items. However, they always are 6 to 20 down the list of preferred or most useful. However, the address bar search results do not have all the top 5 items from the search engine search. It is a matter of how the address bar does the search that is at issue. For whatever reason, the results are not as good as direct input. You will have to determine through investigation why that is. However, that is a year's worth of investigation if anyone would do it. In the mean time, this address bar search needs a simple button that does all the changes necessary to make it stop!

Additionally, I find multiple related search options that are given by search engines extremely helpful when looking for related type of searches. This is something that the address bar search can not do and was never designed or allowed to do. Thus, it causes loss of productivity.

As such and because it does cause loss of productivity, it is a BUG and by law, Mozilla must remove items or provide easy solution to stop productivity failure.

The current solution does not work. That means Mozilla must provide an update immediately to make this feature go away for those who find it annoying, useless or interference with productivity!
