Hello.

I just removed and added again an e-mail account and now I have a folder for this e-mail account aside from local folders. I do not want it to have its own folder. My other e-mail accounts just use the local folders, they do not have their own folders, and it was the same for this one before.

How can I add this e-mail account to the local folders instead of having its own folder ?

Like other people, a bunch of the addons we used to make Thunderbird work for us are broken. Most recently the ability to see the actual email addresses in the from and recipient columns. I can not figure out anything from hundreds of different "account names." I used to use other addons that helped prevent folders being moved, and also sorting them to my liking. But the addons I used for years, because Thunderbird lacks them, are busted up for who knows how long. So am wondering if the millions (?) of people that use it, but of the few dozens of people to read this post, anyone know of any way to manually change settings or CSS code to manipulate Thunderbird to once again (and forever) show the actual email addresses in those columns? I am not able to understand how code and functions work. Also, would anyone reading would know of a better alternative to Thunderbird, that is free for personal use and able to handle what TB does? I only need it for email, not calendar, if that matters. Thanks.

I can't find any way to group windows. Yes, "windows".

I have about three dozen windows open (yes, there are a lot of tabs in them), and not just at home. And it’s hard to quickly find your bearings when you need to switch to another task (workspace). It would be nice to at least change the color of the windows, depending on the type of work. But in the API API I don’t see the ability to define a window property where you can specify a group identifier, which can be used to restore the color after re-opening FireFox.

If FireFox had a built-in or its own reliable extension for organizing thematic work, a deferred workspace (without losing the contents of windows). Arc browser - they realized that what browsers have been denying for a decade is already overdue, and they will be able to take over the market.

I tried several extensions for saving, restoring and organizing workspaces, and came to a clear conclusion: only the built-in FireFox solution for restoring windows after a crash/opening is the only truly reliable solution. There is no trust in extensions that are not supervised by a good team of developers and testers; there is a guarantee that data will be lost in the near future.

It is possible that in recent years some expansions have been completed. I'd be glad to know about it if you point it out. But here a question arises on a separate topic: improving the mechanism for rating and testing extensions, recommended extensions program.

Is there some way to enable and disable specific config settings , on a per-site basis?

For example, let's say I want to disable right-click hijacking (dom.event.contextmenu.enabled) on turtlesaregreat.com, but use the default settings everywhere else.

The Page Info > Permissions panel has some, but not all the ones I want. Is this somehow built into Firefox, or maybe there's an extension?

FF120 on Sonoma

Firefox 120.0.1 (64 bit) Snap for Ubuntu. Printer HP OfficeJet 3833 Printing a web page. If I set print black and white firefox show me the preview black and white but print color. If I set print color firefox show me the preview in color but print black and white.

I want to change the layout in TB 115.5.0, but the layout options in the view menu are grayed out and not working. I am running TB115.5.0 on Ubuntu 22.04.3.

How do I overcome this limitation?

I'm hoping the developers of Firefox see this...

There are far too many context menu items that I neither need nor use. I would like it to only show those context menu items that I make use of, but there's no way to do it. I would like to see future updates or iterations have this incorporated as part of the Settings.

In the menu of mailboxes, I want Local Folders to be first, before the individual mailboxes.

I can move it there in Account Settings - just drag it up there. When I do that, then go to the menu tab (mailboxes), it's where I want it in the mailbox menu, at the top.

But when I close the program and reopen, it's back at the bottom. How do I get it to stay at the top?

Is there an add-on that will do that?

The Switch To Folder icon in the menu bar ("Switch to folder" when you hover over it, but "Folder Location" when you select it from the customize window to bring it to the menu bar) doesn't appear to work as I would expect.

If the All Folders view is chosen, then yes, using the icon brings a drop down menu and the folder window will switch to the chosen folder (most of the time anyway).

But if I do not have All Folders selected, for example I use Folder Modes "Favourites" and "Unread", then the Switch to folder will only work if the chosen folder is part of these limited views (most of the time), i.e. even if the folder I want is part of the "Switch to folder" drop down menu, nothing happens if that folder is not already shown in the left pane.

Anticipated behaviour is that Switch to Folder would switch to any folder that appears in its drop down menu, which would be especially useful if it is not already shown in the left pane due to using a filtered folder view like Favourites or Unread.

Anyone else experience this behaviour?

I am using the current Thunderbird and when I have the email clients collapsed the page is a general one that lets me create new mail or calendar accounts. I would like to not see that and perhaps just see a clean, tidy, blank page. How can I do it?

Hello, I recently stopped having the lines that link every email in a thread. I think it's easier to see in the photos. The one with dark background is with the missing lines while the one with light background is showing the lines. Is there a way to turn the lines back on? Thanks,

I know this may not interest you, but it really bothers me that I can't share the page with sound. Please help me if possible or add such an option. For now, unfortunately, I have to use other browsers that have these functions. Regards

Windows 11 23H2 fresh installation. Firefox fresh installation. Multiple Addons result in Download error. Multiple common popular websites downloads result in download error. No networking issues, internet very fast, consistant, no VPN. All Windows optional and required updates. 3 AV scan no viruses.

Ever since the updates I can't move the bar up to have a smaller window for emails and a larger window for the actual letter. I used to move it up to have the last 3 emails showing. Now the least I can have is 10, leaving a small window for the letter itself. Why? Why make updates that give us less flexibility. Sometimes updates drive people like me crazy. We get used to something and it gets changed. I have been sending in money to support this email program. But right now I'm quite discouraged with it and wondering if I should be looking for something else.

I used THIS link to change mousewheel.with_control.action to 5, which allows for using the scroll wheel to pinch zoom. My only issue is that it is extremely cumbersome, with 3 full rotations of the wheel required for a 2x zoom. Is there any way to increase the amount per tick it zooms in by?

I don't see the solution to my questions. I have trouble READING and thus, I cannot see all the tiny answers!!! Is there not some SIMPLE solution to make all font BOLD in incoming email? I cannot see to search and sift through so many useess answers. I need exact, step by step, instructions. I don't know why this should be so difficult since so many people have visual handicaps. Hi, I'm a Firefox user since around 2004. Whenever I used FF i always opened multiple windows of FF. At some point Mozilla came out with Tabs. I don't use them and as a matter of fact I use the option under settings to open links in a new window (not tabs). Always have, Why? Habit I guess from the times I first starting using FF. I seriously don't use Tabs. I would like to Remove the Tab Bar from FF because of this reason and it frees up a lot of visual space on my browser. I've spent hours reading/searching/trying on "how" to remove or at least hide the Tab Bar. Waste of time so far, so I decided to Post the Question.

How Do I Hide or Remove the Tab Bar in FireFox?
