Hello All, I'm new to Thunderbird and here is something I'm wondering about: I created all my accounts and set everything to Unified ... all works fine. All 5 accounts show under "All Folders" ... if it's also checked, but I don't use it usually. In Unified view, however, UNDER the unified folders, my primary account is missing...?!? Again, I'm talking about the account list UNDER the unified folders! ... not the "All Folders" list! (if it's checked) (I usually don't have "All Folders" on)

The drop-down lists of the single unified folders, however, e.g. Inbox, Sent, etc., DO SHOW the primary account! (On a side note: under Drafts only four accounts show ...?)

So, why is the primary account missing in the list UNDER Unified folders ... (there are only four plus "Local Folders") but it is listed in the separate unified folders, if opened..? I hope explained it clear enough.

BTW, at my home computer, ALL accounts are showing (in Unified view) under the unified folders. Please let me know what I did wrong or if I have to explain it better.

Trying to change the color of the unread background and the top header bar. Got the unread message color change to work.

But if I try to change something else, it doesnt work. I dont know how to combine these codes properly.

Just installed TBird on new laptop, had an awful time. On the main mail page, across the top, there is a search bar (ctrl k). Should there be a 2nd one below it in the middle? Trying to configure it exactly like my older one, but can't find the right selections. Had remote help from BestBuy Geek, she only got half of it. The 2nd search bar is there, and tried to take a snap of it but can't get it. It has the threads symbol, the attached symbol, and one other on the left, and at the end of that line is the symbol to select them. She missed that completely. Can anyone tell me what that part is called, and where to make the selections from? (easier if I could show it to you, sorry) As always, Thank you! Stacy

There used to be a menu in the message header (lower right of screen) that included viewing the message source. I accidentally deleted it and cannot find how to restore it. I have looked through the Config editor and main menus and cannot find an option.

View > Folders > Folder Pane Header [v] All Folders All folders is greyed out (cannot select).

I believe being able to make this selection would cause the email account name to display expanded selections. I want to be able to select this for all my email accounts to display properly in the Folder Pane: (example) Inbox Drafts Sent Spam Trash

Uploaded images are:

1. 1. View > Folders > Folder Pane Header > [v] All Folders > All folders (is greyed out - cannot select).
2. 2. My email client name list with no expanded selections.
3. 3. An example of and expanded email client name

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I open an email or calendar item the window is really small. I resize the window, but next item I open goes back to being the same small size again. How do I get Thunderbird to persist the window size I would prefer?

I run two browsers on Linux Mint 22.3

Librewolf and Waterfox.

I prefer Waterfox. It is set as default in its own settings

I open preferred application in system settings and choose Waterfox as preferred WEB. Thunderbird is preferred as MAIL I click on an email, waterfox promptly opens my 4 home pages....not the email I return to preferred applications and choose Librewolf instead of waterfox, click on the email again, and it promptly opens the email.

Waterfox has been set as the default browser. I am looking for a way to set Thunderbird to open emails with waterfox......I cannot find such a setting in Thunderbird.

I searched and found this : Make sure to check the settings in both Thunderbird and your operating system to ensure Waterfox is selected as the default for opening links.

Is there a way to do this in Thunderbirds settings?....It does not make sense that there would be, becasue Librewolf opens the email anyway....

I have used TB for many, many years and have never had this problem before. In the tool bar at the top of the email Inbox toolbar there are a number of blank emails which are getting annoying. Is there a way to remove them. I am using v. 128.6.0esr

Others have mentioned this but I'm not sure if there is a fix/anything is being done. The threads are all from previous Thunderbird versions.

I use Thunderbird for work. I have to find specific emails and folders - get to them quick. I am no longer able to do this. It's really distressing.

This is something really basic, that should be the default or else really easy to change.

I'm on a Windows machine and using Thunderbird 140.3.0esr. I've been using Thunderbird since 2003 and never had any problems. Now I'm panicking!

Thunderbird did an update 2 days ago. All of a sudden the buttons like 'forward as attachment' (and the others that were in that list) have disappeared. What happened to them? They used to be at the top left when you clicked on an email that you wanted to forward as attachment. Update shows this version--140.1.0esr

I had to restore my PC and thunderbird. Can't figure out, ideas appreciated

 1. I had a personal picture in the message pane on start up, it wasn't a web page.,

 2. incoming email was one line, if I remember it just showed the subject, if I wanted the who I could just open it.

I use this dark mode theme: Star Trek in Thunderbird but override Thunderbird so that Thunderbird is in light mode and the folder, message list and message panes have a white background with black text. The override uses the Autoconfig method (for Firefox but it was working also in Thunderbird Customize Firefox using AutoConfig . This is my thunderbird.cfg file in Thunderbird's install folder containing:

and my autoconfig.js file in Thunderbird's defaults/pref folder containing:

In Thunderbird 145 this worked - all panes had a white background. However, when I updated to Thunderbird 146, the background in the folder, message list and message panes changed to grey with black or white text. With Thunderbird 146, both files are still present and the prefs in about:config are present with the 2 value. The Thunderbird 146 changelog mentions Visual and UX fixes and security fixes.

My Windows 10 colour settings are: default Windows mode = Dark default app mode = Light. These are my preferred settings.

I have changed temporarily to Thunderbird 140.6.0esr and got the white background re-enabled. How do I get the white background and black text back again in Thunderbird 146 please?

I want to change all the tab bars to hide thread column but i cant do it because toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets doesnt look for css file any more. That's a pita, i have a lot of folders I there another way of changing this and other things globally?

Whenever I open a message from the inbox into its own window, the message text and images are tiny and unreadable until I zoom (Shift-Cmd-+) them larger. And when I reply to a message, the text is also starts out tiny, but gets larger when I Zoom it up with the original message. Similarly, the column-header icons of the inbox are tiny, while the text is OK.

All the rest of the interface is normal and readable, except for the tiny text and buttons in the interface-command/confirmation boxes.

I can adjust the font size and density from the "hamburger menu", just fine. And the MacOS 15.3.n-on-Intel settings seem right.

What am I missing? What else is there to change?

I put the URL in there and it does not retain it and use it as signature image. It is a jpg. It browses in a URL on my browser and loads fine but T/B refuses to allow it.

I'm trying to increase the size of the text-entry pane that appears in the calendar event editing pop-up. I already know how to change the size of the overall window (i.e., the pop-up itself), but I can't determine the name of the css element that would modify it.

I enabled developer tools, but the Inspector function doesn't seem to want to provide the name of that css element. It would be along the lines of calendar-event-pane, but that's not it.

Is that text window even specified in css, or is it hard-coded?

Any pointers would be appreciated

had the need to start a fresh thunderbird profile.

now I forget which setting(s) allow for thunderbird to scan the local folders, NOT the internet, for new mail.

any suggestions?

I have Thunderbird 141.0 on Windows 11. It started showing new emails in source HTML. It is set to view message body in original HTML. -- no change from before. So I rebooted laptop. No luck. I replaced the Thunderbird folder with a recent backup. No luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird. No luck. John
