I have a PC with 2 GBs of RAM, running W2K, primarily. I had avoided upgrading from the Firefox 3.x.x series ( or 5 ? ) because it was my understanding that it was the last one suitable for Windows2000. Not long ago, I got an automatic robot request from Firefox to update, and tried to make sure it was still within the compatibility range for W2k.

I thought that I was getting a minor update to a W2K version, but instead, have Firefox 12, which has totally disrupted my internet activity because it constantly bogs down into barely running, or else freezes up for long periods, and frequently crashes.

I want to roll back to whatever I'd used before this disaster. And if there's any special ways to do that, I want to know how it works. Thanks.

Firefox 7.0.1 on Win7 pro 64

Hi FF team & community,

sometimes FF 6/7 shows a VERY strange behaviour: while doing "normal" things on websites (click links, edit text boxes, scrolling, changing tabs) FF starts to ignore my single clicks. The only way to work is using double click instead of single click (i.e. for links, enter a textbos, changing tab, even for open a Firefox menu) for ALL actions!!!!!

A minute ago, the last example was on

 https://plus.google.com/circles/find

while moving a contact to a "circle" - FF changes to only accepting double clicks. No error, no message.

I found this buggy behaviour on many different websites - simples sites and sites with complex functionality, too - in the last weeks since FF6+7 are current versions.

With my other two questions I'm getting the idea, that current FF releases contain more bugs than releases between FF1 to FF3.

Firefox crashes multiple times hourly as I am working / browsing. Have tried to review other solutions already posted, including updating / disabling add-ons, reinstalling firefox, and creating a new session, followed by new profile. Seems to occur more frequently with google websites - have removed that as my homepage, but when playing pandora, it definitely goes down, as well as when using google maps. There appear to be random times on other sites where it will crash as well. I have submitted a number of crash reports, but it doesn't give me the opportunity each time - will frequently just close without giving me the crash dialogue. Help! Thanks!

Hello,

Since a few day, my firefox is crashing regulary. It seems to be related to javascript but I'm not sure.

What I did to try to fix the problem: - update firefox to 14.0.1 and today to 15.0 - update all the addons and plugins, - disabled uneeded addons - recreate a new profile from scratch. - updated my system, rebooted it many times - used ccleaner to clean my system and to fix broken entries in my registry.

I'm a bit lost to fix that issue as I've done all my idea and I does not help at all.

Do you have an idea what is happening here?

Thanks in advance for your help

Firefox has been randomly and repeatedly crashing for about a week. I sometimes get a couple hours of uninterrupted browsing but often have to restart Firefox 10 times in 10 minutes too. It is completely random, still happens in safe mode AND when plug-ins/add-ons are disabled. I am using the latest version, I have uninstalled completely and re installed, but this only worked for a day or so. It happens on many different pages and does not seem to have a pattern. Malware bytes has been run repeatedly and nothing is found. Windows has all available updates. The only thing I can imagine could cause this that I haven't tried to fix is the discordance between Firefox and old Windows XP as a possible issue. Any ideas?
