All my email accounts are hosted at siteground. I recently created a new domain, website, and two email addresses there. Siteground support tested the new email addresses and said they work fine. But when trying to set up these new email accounts in Thunderbird - 128.5.2esr (32-bit) - I keep getting error messages. I know the passwords are correct because I checked them in Settings. After the first step in setup, I always get "Configuration found at email provider". If I click "Done", I get "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password". If I click "Configure manually" and then "Re-test", I get "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account".

been using Thunderbird for years. Old computer runs Windows 10 and will not support 11. New computer running Windows 11. Thunderbird will not link up to my e-mail account. old POP server. Using the exact same credentials, Outlook had no problem linking to my e-mail account. I want to use Thunderbird. Any ideas?

Also, if I can get it going, is there a way to import hundreds of saved emails from Thunderbird on the old computer?

Thunderbird suddenly can't connect with my email servers. Since we needed to upgrade 2 PCs to Windows 11 (1x Pro & 1x Home) nothing works anymore with Thunderbird. It has MASSIVE and unsolvable problems to connect to our Gmail account via OAuth, Not only will it ask every single time again and over again to allow the connection, but moreover even after granting access it still can NOT send (SMTP) or save or even receive (IMAP) emails. It is maga frustrating and I am currently after days and days spend to unsuccessful fix the problem are at the point to looks for a more reliable alternative (if there is any). Just as background: Our Gmail account is about 14GB big, the local Thunderbird folder around 100GB; so yes it's big, but that's another problem, there are no easy or straightforward off-line archivers any longer to effectively and still easy accessible reduce the local archive.

Trying to connect to my AOL mail account on a laptop w/ win 10 & thunderbird returns the message not a valid certificate. AOL support said change the password to reset the account, which I did. Now all I get is " Host contacted, sending login info " & it the server connection times out. I can log into my AOL account with firefox. Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

A recent update from Norton 360 stopped my email accounts from connecting (123-reg and gmail). It was refusing to recognise certificates from the relevant sites. I have reported this to Norton, but in the meantime I have had to disable Email Protection within Norton 360 in order to get things working again.

My TB upgraded to V141 today and I lost my google calendar and maybe my contacts too. The contacts are there but I don't think that they are syncing anymore. Calendar appointments missing altogether.

Been using Thunderbird for years with these accounts. Just today outlook accounts failing to login. Accounts do not receive email. Can not send email. Checked server settings, which were unchanged and obviously worked previously. Tried deleting passwords in password manager and re-entry. Failed. What's up with the outlook connnection?

Hi. For a long time, I've noticed that emails I send from home are sent, but those I try to send with the same settings do not get sent when connected to the Internet in 4 out of 4 cafes. My ISP, Zen, hasn't been able to explain why. I've tested whether Google VPN blocks it somehow, and it doesn't. I normally use Thunderbird. Today, I found that, in the same cafe, messages I tried to send using Thunderbird failed to send, whereas there was no problem with GMail, Proton Mail or Outlook. Any suggestions?

I have a very simple web server on my desk using an ESP8266. It has it's own IP address 10.18.2.3 If I enter this url on Firefox on Android it works just great. However when I enter the same url of Firefox on IOS is does nothing and says "No Internet Connection". I already know there is no internet connection and I do not want one. I just want to have Firefox work the same as it does on Android. What settings do I need to change in IOS to make this work ? I am also curious why it shouldn't work on IOS in the first place too. I have had an ongoing problem with Thunderbird being unable to log into the various mail servers that I use. I've tried repeatedly to solve this problem and have been able to cure it in the past by clearing the cache, but it recurs over and over again. I cannot keep wasting my time like this. I'm an independent contractor and I need to be able to use my e-mail client consistently. I've got work to do! This morning, it's suddenly decided that it cannot log into any of the three services that I use.

Is there a lasting solution to this problem? If not, please tell me and I'll move on peacefully, but please don't keep me chasing my tail for something that cannot be fixed.

Just now I am playing with the `http-request` to explore web pages.

I press the `F12` key and the tools pop up and I go through some basic things.

I see/get just about nothing. See pic (Don't know to make it inline.) But the name says it all.

So I've pressed the `F12` key, clicked on the NETWORK and REFRESHED the page.

Now with Chrome.

Whole different set of stuff.

Someone - please. What's going on? I'm not understanding the huge difference with how things are shown.

Firefox 147.0.4 on macOS 26.3 does not work via SOCKS proxy.

Firefox 147.0.4 on Windows 11 x64 works fine via the same intranet SOCKS proxy, with exactly the same settings.

The advantage of Firefox is its flexibility. It supports its own SOCKS proxy settings, independent of systems-wide ones. Unfortunately, it seems this Firefox feature is broken on macOS (but Windows version works perfectly).

Safari 26.3 (21623.2.7.11.6) and DuckDuckGo 1.177.0 (625) web-browsers that use system-wide macOS SOCKS proxy settings also works fine with this intranet proxy server. So it seems SOCKS proxy server itself is OK, and the problem is confined to Firefox on macOS.

Has anyone seen Firefox 147 on macOS work via SOCKS proxy? Is there a principal difference between how Firefox handles SOCKS proxy on macOS vs. Windows? What might be the best way to address the problem on macOS?

Hello. Impossible to connect to an existing Google account. Neither to the "full" account, nor to the Contact list nor to a Calendar of an existing account. Neither to a "private" account, not to a "workspace".

When trying to connect to a Contact list, after the Oauth window and the authorisation to share data from Google accounts, the app answer "Connexion impossible" (I am a French user).

When trying to connect to Calendars, Google's window asking authorisation to share data comes back after clicking "authorise".

The proton bridge quit working and I can no longer get my proton mail in Thunderbird. I open the proton bridge and it just says connecting. After 24 hours I would think it would have connected. My internet connection is working. I hate Windows 11!

On Windows 11 Pro (latest updates) desktop, I use Thunderbird (latest update) to send/receive email. Usually, Norton 360 (latest update) VPN must be turned off to received emails. I say "usually," because sometimes it works with VPN on. Is there a way to receive emails without needing to usually turn off VPN? What I have been trying hasn't worked. Thanks, if you can help.

When I click on Firefox and the to my email it says there is a problem with my internet. My internet is up and running fine. I have done everything it says Firefox can't connect to the server at mail.yahoo.com.

Firefox won’t load any links from Gmail or articles. When I hit a link, it opens a page with the URL ‘ https://go.skimresources.com/‘ and says ‘a server with the specified hostname could not be found’. This has happened with multiple links from multiple pages. My WiFi is fine and it’s also happened on data and I don’t see any available app updates. I’ve also tried deleting and reinstalling it.
