Firefox 147.0.4 on macOS 26.3 does not work via SOCKS proxy.

Firefox 147.0.4 on Windows 11 x64 works fine via the same intranet SOCKS proxy, with exactly the same settings.

The advantage of Firefox is its flexibility. It supports its own SOCKS proxy settings, independent of systems-wide ones. Unfortunately, it seems this Firefox feature is broken on macOS (but Windows version works perfectly).

Safari 26.3 (21623.2.7.11.6) and DuckDuckGo 1.177.0 (625) web-browsers that use system-wide macOS SOCKS proxy settings also works fine with this intranet proxy server. So it seems SOCKS proxy server itself is OK, and the problem is confined to Firefox on macOS.

Has anyone seen Firefox 147 on macOS work via SOCKS proxy? Is there a principal difference between how Firefox handles SOCKS proxy on macOS vs. Windows? What might be the best way to address the problem on macOS?

When in e-mail I get a message concerning not being able to connect I MAP settings as there are too many or something like that. (Message disapears quickly). It indicating that I should use advanced I MAP settings - all of which is way beyong my primative knowledge. Anyone throw any light on this regarding what and how to do or who to contact Thank you . today Thunderbird doesnt send nor discharge emails from gmail. I've seen that yesterday (december 10) it was an update. I dont know it the problem it's related or not, but the program doesnt work, it seems that it tries to connect with server but it cant. If I send an email from Gmail page it works.

I cannot access my email on my computer or send out email since the latest update. I seem to be offline. Is it because my operating system old? Please tell me what I need to know to fix this problem. Thank you for your assistance.

In Firefox, and only in Firefox, I get 'Failed to verify your identity' on these sites. I have updated MacOS and Firefox, rebooted, tried a different DNS, and disabled all of my extensions. With extensions disabled I don't get the error, but the login site won't accept my login at all. See the attached image. I can't think of anything else to try.

[redacted] problem you [redacted] im having issues with the video and ads as all of my apps are disabeld nothing works and firefox it self causing probs and no one is helping out.

The font size in "Manage Bookmarks" is way too large, both in the sections list menu on the left and the list of bookmarks. I checked my userChrome.css file as well as the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx entry in about:config and there's nothing there to explain why only the "Manage Bookmarks" text is so large.

It's possible I changed a setting somewhere that's causing this. But I'm stumped re: what setting might be controlling the font size in only that UI. All other Firefox text sizes are good.

I am trying to access certain HTTPS websites and some of them show PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR in Firefox. This error is not present in Edge or Chromium.

Here's what I've tried (none of these works):

• DNS over HTTPS turned off
• Uninstall all add-ons
• Reinstall Firefox
• Create new profile and set it as default
• Delete/rename certs.db in the Firefox profiles folder.

The only fix that works is to use Troubleshoot Mode every time I visit these websites which is not practical. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

With Firefox 135.0 i cant reach google.com but google.se i can.

I make daily images of C: and today i managed to go back one day to 2025-02-06 but accidentally chooses 2025-01-06 and with the older version of firefox i could reach google.com

I have tried to delete cookies. DNS over HTTPS off. No proxy in connection. Add-ons off but to no avail.

I sent a request for help and got this response:

"Well you might start by actually advising what the error is. We are at this point left to guess what "When launching Thunderbird, I get a pop-up saying Server "outlook.office365.com" reported en error" means and I can assure you it is not much to base a guess on. What is the message verbatim?"

You missed the point entirely! The point is that there NO ERROR CODE REPORTED, only the cryptic information I sent earlier. Further, if I knew the error code, I could fix it myself. The question is whether there is some kind of a log file kept in Thunderbird that may shed some light on the problem. Hopefully, now you understand the problem and can respond in a more meaningful and professional manner.

Some additional information: (a) sometimes email does not send, (b) I have already reinstalled T-Bird with with the mystery error continuing, (c) no errors were reported during installation. If there is no log file that T-Bird keeps and if you have no way of helping me track this down, T-Bird has ceased to be a practical alternative to Outlook.

Solo pochi vecchi messaggi erano presenti. Non riusciva a connettersi con Virgilio e mi chiedeva una nuova password. Non riuscivo a fare niente perché continuava a chiedere. Dovevo chiuderlo stavo pensando di usare outlook o gmail. Alle 1745 l ho riacceso e funzionava tutto. Sono riapparsi i vecchi messaggi ed arrivati quelli nuovi di oggi . Non so che dire

https://read.amazon.com/kindle-library is now not allowing me to go onto the website. I've tried talking to Amazon customer support but they can't find a problem on their end. It says:

The connection has timed out

The server at read.amazon.com is taking too long to respond.

   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

I haven't had a problem with the website before and every other website I have tried works fine. It's just that one. I have added it to my exceptions list for add ons but it didn't fix it.

Trying to connect to my AOL mail account on a laptop w/ win 10 & thunderbird returns the message not a valid certificate. AOL support said change the password to reset the account, which I did. Now all I get is " Host contacted, sending login info " & it the server connection times out. I can log into my AOL account with firefox. Any help will be greatly appreciated !!
