I recently encountered an issue when attempting to login to The Coventry Building Society website using Firefox (desktop PC & Windows 10):- https://www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk/ It failed to display the page used to enter the one time passcode used for two factor authentication.

After looking on some forums I discovered this is because 'Strict' tracking protection was enabled. If I change to 'Custom' and uncheck 'Tracking Content' then things work as expected.

I also read on a forum that you can leave tracking protection set to 'Strict' but enter the URL for the problem website under 'Enhanced Tracking Protection -> Manage Exceptions'. I tried entering 'https://www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk/' Initially this appeared to work. However, when I tried it again the following day, the page failed to load as before. I had to change back from 'Strict' to 'Custom' and uncheck 'Tracking Content' once again. It's as if the exception URL is ignored in 'Strict' mode.

Am I doing something wrong or is this how it is supposed to work? Do I need to click on the shield icon (to the left of the padlock icon) and turn off 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' every time I visit the website?

I have a new w11 laptop. I would like to install Thunderbird. I have 8 email accounts on the old W10 computer. I plan on keeping the old W10 computer running and using TB. All my accounts are IMAP--Yahoo, gmail, hotmail (now outlook) but I have an pretty extensive Local folder collection on the old W10 Would I be better off just installing TB on the new W11 computer and adding each email and start fresh or should I venture into copying the W10 profile (some of the instructions seem a bit confusing). If I add all my emails as a fresh start to the new W11 computer could I then just copy the LOCAL folders in the W10 Profile and paste it into the W11 profile?

I tried to use Thunderbird today,.. to find the interface was broken, menus were blank, so no ability to look at anything., and error message inferring there was a menu config issue was all that was shown. I duly removed Thunderbird as a snap install, which took a long time as it seemed to be making a backup to somewhere. I then reinstalled Thunderbird 128.11.0esr (64-bit) on my ubuntu 24.04,.. having setup the isp email credentials,.. all seemed fine,.. I then proceeded to import what I assumed was my old local folders... And this is where things went wrong, as I seem to have lost all my archived 2025 emails,.. I say somewhere,.. as I don't seem to be able to find them, I have used the 'find' command to locate anything with 2025 in the file name,.. but without success. At the moment I have a multi-structured 'local folder' entry, but nothing with 2025 in? I anyone able to shed some light on what I may have done wrong Many tx

All the messages in my Inbox disappeared this morning. I have a MacBook Air running Sonoma 14.7.2, my ISP is Gandi, and Thunderbird 115.4.1 is my email. I had clicked on a link in an email from a known source and when I returned to email, all the inbox messages were gone. All other folders (Sent, Drafts, etc) are there and current. My husband and I each have email accounts; his Inbox is all there too. The Inbox emails were not in the Trash, Deleted or Junk folders. I closed Thunderbird and reopened; messages still gone. I closed all apps, shut down the computer and restarted; opened Thunderbird, messages still gone. When I look at the Profile files, I can't tell which one would be my Inbox, but none of the likely candidates seems big enough to hold the, um, 7000+ messages that were there. I have spent the day internet-searching and reading various posts on disappearing messages - most of which are very old and/or for Windows - but I am unable to figure out what to do. Are the messages somewhere in the Profile? Are they on my ISP's server? How can I get them back into the Inbox? Thanks for any help.

For a few days a banner persists on the lower left of the message window. It obscures content. ""Upgrade to Thunderbird Release"" I have checked twice to make sure there is no update available. Why does this annoying message persist after I run the update. I have rebooted the application multiple times. I do not want to click "Learn more" on the annoying banner promoting "Get monthly updates. with new features and improvements in the new Thunderbird Release" Is it malware? If the application is up to date why are you forcing me to "Learn more"? This is not a good user experience. My MacBook Air is up to date. Thunderbird release 128.11.1esr

I'm trying to setup Thunderbird for my Google Workplace account. 1. In the default settings, I receive the error message 'Profile not found' when I try and add my Outlook .PST file 2. I can't see how to access Profile Manager so I've started Thunderbird from the command line, activating the Profile manager, i.e. Thunderbird -p. When I add a profile and try and access my Google gmail I receive an error that the configuration server could not be found. Note point 1 where the same account was setup correctly but in the default 'no profile'.

Hello, Sometime ago something happened on my server and caused the email account to get corrupted. I cannot access any of the emails. Prior to this, a backup was made of the account. The backup was made because the server was being changed. All emails worked perfectly after the server change and worked for months. The account is set up as IMAP. The size roughly of the backup is 1.2 GB. The backup file does NOT have the proper extension for recovering the emails. The extension is simply .file

When the email got corrupted it simply dissapeared from the server. I think the server is running Linux / Apache.

Any suggestions? Thanks

What fresh hell is this (in the image)? The display is like this most of the time. Usually, highlighting text causes that part to be fixed but it doesn't last long. This in on Windows 11 and nothing seems to fix it. I've updated drivers and Thunderbird. I've scanned for system file damage. While there wer some corrupt files, fixing them has not affected the display problem. No effect. It looks like some characters are randomly changed to the background color. I've used Thunderbird for years, and I LOVE it! A few days ago, my hard drive died. I had it replaced, and I've used my data backup to recover much. I did NOT have programs/apps backed up. I need VERY SPECIFIC steps to download and reinstall Thunderbird so that it uses my old profile. Should I first delete EVERYTHING having to do with Thunderbird and start anew? I did download it today and then went to the C:Users/Owner/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird folder. In that folder, I deleted the "new" profile file (I think!). Then I moved my backed up folder called Profiles into that directory. I tried to get Thunderbird to use that profile, but no luck. I'm reasonably intelligent (I've been told!), but I can't figure how to do this, and I truly need a step-by-step blueprint. Do I download Thunderbird first? If so, what do I then do to make it find the old profile. I'm running Windows 11 Home on a PC. Right now, I'm going for a long walk to clear my brain. In the interim, if one of you really smart, nice experts could give me instructions on how to do this, I'd be eternally grateful. I have numerous folders, and some really important old emails in that old profile. I also would like to be able to retrieve my address book and calendars ... which I ASSUME are part of the old profile. Thanks in advance for ANY assistance! Don't assume I know ANYTHING!!

I recently hat some issues with one of my accounts. At first some random mails disappeared right after receiving them, which made me question my sanity. Last week, I was able to witness a mail being recieved, appearing in search results, disappearing in the client and disappearing the mail from the server about a minute later.

While I was still wondering about this and looking for solutions (I tried the "Repair Folder" last week), I found no apparent changes, until yesterday, when about 9 months worth of emails turned into thin air. (Not in the inbox, not in the trash, not in the archive or on the server). Fortunately our IT department has backups and could also confirm my suspicion that the deletion was issued from Thunderbird.

I think there is a severe bug somewhere, but at the current moment I don't have the smallest clues to write a useful bugreport. Where would you start collecting evidence for this?

(Running Thunderbird, version=128.6.0, on Windows10, when this happened)

Thanks, Daniel

This is pretty shady Mozilla.

When disabling only one setting: "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" it wrecks this site whether logging is or continuing as guest:

https://appointment.questdiagnostics.com/schedule-appointment/as-personal-information

Even after logging in and everything running normal, disabling the studies run by Mozilla and a quick refresh breaks the functionality of the page. All cookies were accepted and the sharing of location was allowed. On a fresh, first run, wide open Firefox people. Literally, the only change that was made was unchecking that one box. In disbelief, i tested it over and over.

Why would disabling a telemetry setting, something that should be optional, cause this to happen? Seriously, what could possibly be the reason. I'd love to hear it.

This was the final nail in the coffin to me and this is since the 0.9x days.
