When I open firefox in ubuntu linux. (WSLg) Fresh install. I can't go to settings in firefox. Steps: press the hamburger menu, press settings, nothing happens.

OS: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS on Windows 10 x86_64 Kernel: 5.15.146.1-microsoft-standard-WSL2 Shell: bash 5.1.16

So with Google becoming an increasingly terrible company over the years I once again decided to try to move away from chromium based browsers and over to Firefox, but I'm still having the same problem as I did when I first tried. I have since found the source of the problem, or rather a more exact explanation of what is going on, but I still can not find a solution. Basically when I compare the audio of the same YouTube video while logged into the same account with the same settings the audio quality on chromium browsers seems better. After some testing I figured out that it has to do with Logitech's G Hub surround sound option. Using Logitech's surround sound on headsets that support it, the Pro X2 in my case, will change the audio quality by quite a lot, in my opinion it sounds better. The problem is that this change doesn't seem to have an effect when using Firefox.

Is this a known issue and if yes, is there a solution?

1. Often TB won't show new message, it'll list a number of new message, maybe I can actually scroll down & view a few of them, but quite often, I'll try to scroll down and can't see that new message that TB indicates exists. Or I have to click on an old message, then try again, click on another message I've already viewed then scroll down to where the new message is. This morning, tried both several times, still couldn't see the new message that TB insists is there.

2. At one time, when you opened TB, you were automatically taken to the end of all the messages in your inbox or if you fllter emails to folders, to the end of messages in that particular folder. No more, you have to scroll down to the end. Why? It's a waste of time for me to do that and as far as I know, TB places no limit on the number of emails in an inbox so . . . why was that changed? Because it was user friendly?

In my search I noticed that there was one TB user who was so upset he/she/they wanted to return to v. 102. I wonder how many people, seeing the response, also have returned to a previous version. I know I'm really tired of getting additional bells & whistles i don't use, changes to what you see that don't help me at all, plus making using TB more of a hassle--see above. Please fix the above problems. If it's not fixed in the next upgrade--which I'm hesitant to install given the result of the last few upgrades that introduced the above hassles--then I'll probably go back to an older version too.

I have an email account with IONOS and my wife has an account. We have had these accounts for several years. Recently my wife can not send email. We are configured the same and I do not have a problem. Server: smtp.ionos.com Port: 587 (tried others at IONOS support request) Security STARTTLS Authentication: Normal password. When she tries to send or forward with a simple text (one letter or larger, it does not seem to matter). She gets the following reply: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Transaction failed Reject due to policy restrictions. When trying to go to that web page, it does not exist. I have gone to IONOS support and we have both looked at the configuration and can see no differences between my set-up and hers. I have deleted all email address from her machine and reloaded Thunderbird (115.9.0), restarted her machine and added back her email. Same results, she can receive but not send. If she uses her phone, it works, and if you go to the IONOS web site and use there service it works. I'm at my wits end and can not figure it out. I have also opened an incident with the IONOS Postmaster, which I think is their second level support. Please help.

I am an e-mail packrat.... I have a pop e-mail but keep years and years worth of old e-mails (inbound and outbound) some with big attachments. My backup for the few e-mail accounts I have within my profile is approx 13 gigs. I've moved machines... and currently running Ventura on my imac.

I have to force-quit all the time to get my e-mail working again. It hangs-up.... sometimes will recover... but then... I type a few words or maybe sentences... and back to HANGING-UP again. Sometimes after a Force-Quit... it will behave for awhile. Other times... it takes 4-5-6 force quits in a row to get the program working again. Been having these issues for months... and have taken out all the add-ons etc.... HELP... pulling my hair out! Thanks

I added a browser extension Search by Image by Armin Sebastian some time ago and it worked just fine till recently. Now, every time I need to find some image I get the page with cute creature sitting and fishing in bucket of water with info stated: "Your search did not match any documents. Suggestions: Try different keywords." (screenshot attached). It happens every time, no matter what kind of image I'm looking for. I also added another extension Search by Image on Google by Gustavo Silva and it's the same issue.

Would really appreciate any help with it.

I use Thunderbird as a central repository for 5 different email addresses. Recently 1 of them stopped getting Sent messages that were created on Webmail or my Phone. I used to work fine, now it doesn't. This account is the only one I have that is set to POP3; the others are IMAP.

I'd change the settings to be IMAP but don'e see how to do that. And, I don't want to lose any messages and would like to capture the ones that have not been captured.

Any thoughts?

Hello, this may not be a problem with Firefox itself at all, but I'd like to try to understand what the cause of the problem I and others are having.

I have Norton 360 installed, in this Windows 10 computer and like to use Firefox for internet browsing, it has always served me well.

I also have Norton Safe Search integrated/add-on to Firefox. This puts a red, green, or gray check mark at the end of each link that comes up during a search and has always worked before.

Recently, I've noticed that such check marks do not appear at all when doing a search with Firefox, but they are present when I do searches with MS Edge.

I am searching for a solution here, and also in the Norton Community. There are others there who have stated they are having the same problem.

Has anyone here heard of this before, would you have any suggestion as to what may be causing the lack of the Norton Safe Search check marks in Firefox searches?

Any input/suggestions would be welcome.

I am using the credit card autofill function. I select a card and payment is taken from a different saved card. I have quit and restarted Firefox but still wrong card used???

In previous versions of FFx, toggling to Reader view used the same font I'd chosen in Settings / wherever. Now it's something else, in boldface with no distinctions made in original view (italics, not italics, etc). & there doesn't seem to be any way I can control fonts in Reader.

Any suggestions? In plain English, please, I am NOT a programmer or computer professional, just a regular human trying to use this new version that seems to have broken everything I liked about FFx.

When I click on the link for Hyperallergic Magazine, the page doesn't load. I don't have it blocked in Notifications. I have allowed pop-up windows for it. I can't figure out what else might be preventing it from loading. It is free. I don't have this problem with any other website that I know of. I'm running the latest version of Firefox & have Windows 11 on a one-year-old PC. I didn't have this problem in my old computer, which ran Windows 7. Please help. Thanks.

I installed an OBS plug-in for a virtual camera so that I could film my screen and pretend it's a webcam. I was able to use the virtual camera or my webcam on spelltable.com by selecting either from the dropdown "allow" menu. One day, I was no longer able to select my webcam. I could only select the obs virtual camera. I switched to MS Edge which worked as normal. I've uninstalled OBS and all plug-ins. Same result I've reinstalled firefox. Same result. I've been using MS Edge for websites that need my camera.

Last week, sometime, I received ALL the emails, that have come into my "mailbox", from about the time I purchased my latest computer, several years ago. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of the little critters. All arranged alphabetically, starting with the letter "a". So far, the ONLY solution I've found from "Thunderbird Help", is to 1. Open inbox 2. Select [left click] one of the repeated emails. 3. This high lights the email in BLUE. 4. Select BOTH "CONTROL & A" KEYS at the same time. 5. This highlights the WHOLE PRESENT page of emails in BLUE. 6. The instructions then say to press the "DELETE" key. 7. Question is- IF I PRESS THE "DELETE" key, will that just delete the emails on this page, OR delete EVERY email in my entire "inbox"? The only OTHER remedy I've tried, is to send the unwanted emails, ONE at a time, to the "TRASH" folder, then empty the "TRASH" folder, when I get 10-15 emails in it. That could take a VERY long time. Hello. I have a pretty big sprite image i am trying to display on my web page but mozzila wont display it. The sprite is 78016px by 1000px and im cropping it to be 736px by 1000px. Sprite is made out of a png sequence that was made in 3d software, now the thing is when i put in the non rendered verson of images(3D viewport colors) which windows labels as 8bit (maybe because of less colors) it gets displayed, but when i put the rendered version which windows labels as 32bit image it wont get displayed on Mozilla. It gets displayed on Chrome and Edge without any problems. The only difference beetween the images is that the rendered version has a transparent background behind the subject...they are the same sized sprite. I will drop the first frames of the sprite in the images section so you can get a better idea. Also all of the code and images is stored locally.

Not only it does not show the unread email count but also stopped working for my work email, making me miss a serious meeting!

This is ridiculous!

So now I'm transitioning to Thunderbird however, my Inbox is showing the total amount of emails. This is not what I need. What I need is the unread amount of emails.

On top of this, if I minimize the email, the Inbox amount count merges with the amount count of Sent Items. This is not what I need either... What I need is to solely have the amount of unread emails.

How can I achieve solely unread email count with Thunderbird?

When I close firefox while it's in full screen, turn off my laptop, and then open it again the day after, it opens in the small screen for some reason. I tried going to the root directory in the about:profiles section of the more troubleshooting information section and renaming xulstore.json to xulstore.json.old, and each time it worked for a few days and then it just installed a new xulstore.json and went back to opening in the small screen. This is really annoying and I don't want to switch it manually every time.

Hi folks, I am wondering if there is a possibility to add a strikethrough icon to the compose window. I use strikethrough quite often and it is very inconvenient to go to the menu each time. I can find only addons for earlier versions of TB. Thanks

I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and restarted my computer but it still will not load. When i first reinstall it it comes up but will not connect to the intenet.

I think with the update to 125, I no longer see the typical Windows window controls in the upper right - minimize, maximize, close - so I don't know how to do those things.

THe top right looks like this Mac-based image (where those buttons are on the upper left) but I'm running on Windows so I don't have the dot buttons on top left nor the Windows style min/max/close at top right.

What do I need to do to get them back?
