I've been a Firefox user for years. A few days ago I got a pop-up message box that read: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window. [Close Firefox] [Cancel]"

However, no matter how many times I click the "Close Firefox" button, the message box keeps coming back up and will not let me around it. I'd delete the program and install again, but my current Firefox has info in the Bookmarks I'd like to keep.

Any way to close the pop-up window and allow me back to the Firefox home page?

The Firefox app on my iphone11PRO does not retain history of sites visited. When I go to settings and click on History, there is an icon with a folder that says Recently Closed. Below that, there is the notation "Websites you've visited recently will show up here." But... Nothing is there. When I look at Homepage, "Recently saved" and Recently Visited" are both turned on. What am I missing?

I have Firefox installed in both the 32 and x86 directories, but all of my favorites, passwords etc are in the 32 directory. How do I move them to my x86 version? They are both up to date!

I recently had to reinstall firefox due to a few issues. Before the reinstall, when I opened a new tab it would open as my home page. After I reinstalled it, I was able to set up my homepage URL but there is no option for new tabs to open wth the same page. The only options for new tabs are blank page or the default firefox homepage. This was never an issue before the reinstall.

How do I fix this? Has the option been moved somewhere else?

It seems a Windows 8.1 update Aug 10, 2022 made my FF browser enlarge on my second screen from my laptop. Moving it back to the laptop makes it return to the correct size. I've tried the resolution, zoom, etc. Not sure what's happened to it to cause the enlargement. Zoom only works on the pages, not the tabs. It's the whole browser that is bigger, including the tabs. Open to suggestions.

Upon opening Firefox an update was installed. Now I cannot find any of my bookmarks. How do I go back to previous version/recover? While I understand the need for updates, I don't understand it not automatically migrating important data.

I'm getting warning emails (2 so far) that windows 8.1 will no longer be supported after I think the end of this year and that I should buy windows 11. Since I use firefox exclusively, does this warning affect me? I'm not very computer savvy and am not sure what is the relationship mozilla firefox to windows (I think it's microsoft windows). I guess this computer has windows 8.1 but I'm not sure. Also, awhile back, microsoft edge showed up on my laptop but I've never even opened it, not even sure what it is. Not sure exactly when but I bought this Asus laptop but it's been several years. Thank you very much for any instruction and/or advice you may be able to give me. Randy Boone. When I search for driving schools in my area; my driving school comes up with two stars. Several months back my 4.9 rating with over three hundred reviews would come up. Someone changed the way it is coming up and it's showing two stars with one review from Yelp? Please help me. This is not fair?

I'm on Facebook, only browser open is Fire Fox, FB freezes up and I get this "Page is slowing down Firefox, press STOP." to spped it up, what Page? I'm only on one page and its Face Book, get this when I'm on other sites too, and Other Browsers don't do this crap. Only fire fox does.

Some web pages displayed by Firefox are dull and unreadable e.g., https://www.vedantalimited.com/eng/investor-relations-shareholder-information.php#scheme_arrangement I have not made any specific display setting, have tested with default settings and also change of themes, but the same dull output. see attached screenshots. The same looks fine under other (Opera) browser

When I get a list of search results I often select more than one, and I do that by right-click and 'open in new tab'. This has stopped working all of a sudden. I can see Firefox opening a new tab, but it immediately closes it again. Opening in the same tab works fine but not a new tab. How do I fix this? Other than using a browser that doesn't fuck me around of course.

I synced forefox data with my email account and when I restore my phone and again sign in error coming ? I also did this on pc but no bookmarks that got synced came and all my storage sites passwords are gone!! what should I do now?

Windows 8.1 would not load last Wednesday, so I "refreshed" it using F10; which stated all files and apps would be retained (what a lie.) Most apps were disabled, or removed, and needed to be re-loaded, as well as about 200 updates which needed to be downloaded, and still being downloaded. When re-loading Firefox my previous bookmarks were not retained, although I think may have located them via a Microsoft remedy (Firefox remedies have been fruitless.) They are not not the old Firefox folder (my most recent entry was 2019,) and not in the places Firefox has suggested looking. I will backup my current 5 days worth of bookmarks, when all of the downloads are current, and try to download the Microsoft suggestion. My question is; why are they NOT automatically saved? And if somebody has a remedy for me please send it as I will not do anything with my bookmarks for a few days.

Immediately following a Firefox update I began having scrolling problems on my Facebook page. I am able to scroll down normally to a point, and then, all of a sudden, the scroll bar will go up and immediately go back down without me touching the mouse. It will continue doing the up and down scrolling indefinitely and at a high rate of speed. I have tried turning off auto scroll and smooth scrolling at the browser, but no luck. I have Windows 8.1. I have never heard of anyone else having this problem so this seemed like my only option.

It is hard to describe in nerd language what's happening, but I'll try in human language:

1. Firefox frequently takes forever to even begin loading websites! 2. After today's update (16-OCT-2022) search engine search fields won't accept any text! 3. Absolute slowness on Firefox, but when I try other browsers, the problem is not there.

For many years Firefox has been trouble. I keep on trying it and I end up dumping it.

Why can't Mozilla hire people who CAN do it?
