What have you done, Firefox? Where are my bookmarks? None of the help articles have helped me find them. No "Bookmarks Library" link, no bookmarks button on main page, no "Refresh" option anywhere that I can find....

Opened Firefox this morning around 11 a.m., opened up Firefox. A dialogue box I have never seen before appeared, insisting I set up a "profile". What profile? Why? Why no explanation of why I need a profile, and what the h.... is the difference between the two profiles offered?

When I finally chose "default" for profile (NO idea what that means!), I saw that all my settings are gone and most alarmingly, ALL my bookmarks. HOW do I retrieve them?

I am using a laptop Dell with Windows 10, 64-bit....what else do you need to know?

Really upset with this. Also upset with how difficult it is to find immediate help for Firefox.

some video or something is running and I can't find it. scrolling through my tabs I don't find it. using my tab manager doesn't show it either - it must be pretty crappy.

you've got a help thing somewhere saying 'click the number thing next to the address field' but there's no number thing on my firefox.

it'd be really good if I could identify these playing things. now a second one has started up while I've been hunting. two of them running at once.

task manager doesn't help. shows a lot of firefox instances or something but they all look just the same and I don't know what they are..

any help?

When I download files, a list of the files appears, and does not go away unless I click somewhere off the list. The list hides a good portion of the screen. How do I turn this feature off. This did not happen until the latest Firefox update.

last night i reset firefox in order to fix a software error. all of my data is still connected to the browser and i have no problem opening my installed addons and bookmarks. my profile folder is completely missing. i tried to open it from the open folder button in about:profiles and about:config pages. i got the same exact location is missing error message every time. i went into my appdata folder and checked local, locallow and roaming. there was only one mozilla folder in locallow and it was completely empty. about:profiles says that my current profile, the default release one, is currently in use, but it isn't on my computer. there's not even an old data folder like some articles suggested. i haven't deleted or fiddled with anything since the reset. nothing is in my recycling bin. i've reread every article at least three times and none of them have solutions i can use because the mozilla folder is COMPLETELY MISSING.

I cannot log into my Amsoil Dealer Zone account using FF; I can use Edge to log in, but FF just refreshes the page when I attempt to log in.

A black screen covers almost the entirety of every Firefox window I open, whether it be normal or private. I can still technically interact with the page as clicking on random unseen things does have an effect, but it's obscured to the point of near non-usability.

I am have a very frequent issue with Firefox. I cannot now browse www.google.com or search google using the search bar in my toolbars (google is my default search engine in Firefox). I do not receive an error. Nothing happens at all. Closing and opening Firefox usually solves the problem. I can ping google from the command prompt. I can use Edge and get to google. Also, I can get to google using Firefox's private browsing window.

I have reset Firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I have tried troubleshooting mode. No luck.

Please advise.

I just updated last night to version 98.0 of Firefox, and have noticed that when I click on manage bookmarks that the boomarks now open at the bottom of the various bookmarks folders by default instead of opening at the top like they used to. What happened here? I am including a picture to show where the manage bookmarks section is going by default now instead of where it normally does. Can anyone help fix this?

I've been using symlink policy.json for quite some time but I think ever since 91.x version of FF ESR, every incremental update removes symbolic link for policy.json. Any idea why that happens and how to fix that??

Launch Firefox, manually check for latest update by going to settings > Help > About Firefox. However the manual update keep showing update failed. Other than Mozilla config file, can we use GPO to configure auto update for Firefox browser?

Lately I am getting a lot of spam emails. Is there a way to get rid of them permanently? Are there any free add=ons to install that will block them out? Please reply.

Since Firefox 98, whenever a file is downloaded or a page is captured (using add-on Page Saver WE) a display/pop-up appears in the top right-hand corner of the screen (or possibly under the 'Display Download Progress 'button'). Previously, this prompt/display/pop-up would disappear after a few seconds. Now it stays there until there is a mouse click anywhere on the screen (including outside the Firefox window). This is presumably a bug and it is also extremely irritating. Please change this back to the way it used to be (disappearing after a few seconds) or provide an option to specify how long the prompt/display/pop-up should be visible - like the 'new mail' prompt from Thunderbird. I see the thread was closed without a solutuion. The CIRCUMVENTION being 'fiddling' about with 'config'. Just to re-state.... Since Firefox 98, PDF files that are OPENED within Firefox are also automatically (and INCORRECTLY) downloaded. If the PDF file is subsequently requested to be downloaded (using the 'button' within the PDF display/window), Firefox will either: Prompt stating that the file already exists; or (if the user picks his/her own filename) a 2nd copy of the file will be downloaded. Sorry to be direct but THIS IS A BUG THAT NEEDS FIXING.

PC goes to sleep and app running is Firefox with webpage for Facebook the focus when it is awakened my system crashes. I have spoken to Microsoft and they have checked out my PC but cannot say that what they have done will resolve the issue as the machine wakes perfectly when the web page in focus is anything else. Do not know if it is a firefox or facebook problem but a problem it certainly is. One of you or both in combination causes windows to crash in these circumstances. As Microsoft has done its thing with reguard to windows and my PC and because it only seems to happen with a combination of firefox and facebook they don't think they have a problem but it is with their development team for further investigation. You now need to investigate. I have the report problems to firefox box checked so if you need anything further please get in touch.

Currently I am using Firefox 99.0.1. When I am in my mailbox and open a received file, firefox asks me what to do, I give the command to open it, and it open and at the same time is automatically downloaded in the download folder. I changed different setting to avoid downloading, with no result. Then I installed an older version 82.0.3. and this problem does not exist there. So please help me to change the settings of the newer firefox 99.0.1 to open files without downloading them Thanks,Josef Petrov
