Since W10 came out, Firefox seems to have been "purposely" sabotaged.

I repeatedly get asked to change my default browser off firefox, despite it being long set in place as such. It's running much slower, with many more errors. I now get seemingly continuous Screen updates, make doing emails nearly impossible as the screen freezes while it "thinks". I now get continued "(firefox not responding)" error messages.

Hope you can do some work-arounds. D

If you can give me some instructions on how to do this it would save me a lot of time!

It will be fun to use some of the new inventions they have but it doesn't feel like home. Thanks

Firefox won't play sounds at all, not youtube or tumblr or anything, while other browsers do, windows system play sounds just fine, it's just firefox that doesn't, and it happened suddenly. I tried to restart my laptop several times with no result.

Edit:

I checked for firefox updates manually and it installed the last one. I uninstalled then reinstalled the last v of adobe flash player.

Still has the no sound problem in firefox only.

I wiped my desktop to clean install windows 10 yesterday morning. When I got back on the computer my dashlane account manager didn't want to restore my old data so I had to request a new password. So I restored the password synced up on my phone and desktop and things weren't popping up. I have the "Desktop Bookmarks" on my phone with no way of putting them on my desktop. My first priority is backing up the bookmarks on my phone and importing them into firefox. And 2nd, why isn't it appearing on my latest version of firefox on my desktop? The android firefox is also completely updated.

On the first program I started after launching new Windows 10, I can't do what I have done for years, and can't figure it out myself.

I hate major operating system changes.

Hi,

Recently large file (90+megs) downloads keep failing . The download started normally, downloads for a little, then idles out and fails with no error messages. I'm currently on Windows operating system and i even tried disabling all add-ons and scan functionality in my browser and it's not my IPS giving me grief either. I've also tried with other browsers such as Explorer and chrome and have no problems with them with the same file and location.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is getting really aggravating...

Thanks, - Ult

Can't find a way to automate deletion of persistent supercookies

The contents of "\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXXXXXX.default\storage" (where XXX is specific to your own profiles) are impossible to autoclear/ autodelete through the given settings, about:config changes, about:preferences changes, or in-browser consoles like CTRL-SHIFT-DEL to clear all history. Deleting all history at exit and checking all inputs still doesn't delete the contents of that particular folder.

That folder is now home to indexed databases (idb files) and special supercookies from sites like mega.nz and bostonglobe.com. The latter is particularly worrying as it doesn't seem to load any special html5 application as mega does. Thus, it comes across a perfectly normal site that nonetheless leaves a persistent supercookie. Thus far, I've only been able to successfully detect and delete these cookies and idb files using CCleaner.

I've asked this question in a lengthier post which you can find by clicking thru my user profile. Please, any help in automating deletion of these items would be greatly appreciated. To the Firefox devs, please don't let this breach of privacy go unpatched much longer

Since I have upgraded to Firefox 40 for PC, I have noticed that smooth scrolling isn't smooth at all. The page scrolls but the text is jerky as I scroll down. By "jerky" I mean that it looks like it is refreshing and redrawing on the page rather than scrolling.

Unchecking options -> advanced -> general -> use smooth scrolling eliminates the jerkiness, but now the scrolling isn't smooth and now akin to a "page down" button press.

Smooth scrolling was working fine in FF 39.

I have a eVGA (NVIDIA) GeForce 960 GTX graphics card running v353.62

Any ideas? I am NOT having this problem in Edge or Chrome 44, so I'm assuming it's Firefox 40 related...

I have today had to refresh Firefox because it kept crashing on opening and I could not open it. Another thread said a Refresh was the best solution, so I now have Firefox V 40.0 using Windows 10.0 OS.

Suddenly, 2 hours after the refresh, it has slowed down to a snail's pace - slower than a very slow thing, like watching paint dry, like have an old-fashioned dial-up connection. Takes about 15 seconds to load my home page, and just as long to change pages, either within the same website or when connecting to a new website.

What has happend and what can I do to corrcet this? Is there something in the profile or add-ons of my old version of FF that I need to add in to the new version?

I used to really like Firefox, but today is beginning to destroy my faith in the product.

Cheers
